  • MOONS MC TAIL LIGHT ON THE FXR... I wanted to still have rear turn signals as an option. During the time, there wasn't a company that had a plug and play tail light that would serve both purposes. Until, I found Moon MC's tail light which did both. I had already installed this tail light, before this video was created (which is noted at that start of video).
    So, I went through the step by step process on how I installed it. Hopefully this helps anyone looking to stop their LED tail light turn signals from hyper flashing or staying solid!

    Man, I ain’t jealous of anyone but that garage space.... Looks like a killer place to escape. I have to work on my FXR in my front yard with angry neighbors watching how long each job takes me... or on the side of countless freeways hahaha.

    • @freebirdsgarage
      @freebirdsgarage  Před 3 lety +1

      The link I have should be a direct plug in. I don’t why it showing that you have to install the pins to the connector. When I ordered mine it was ready to go out of the box. So it should be plug and play for you .

    Great video, I have the same bike and want to install this. Do you know if there is a way to reprogram the signals to continuously blink until the signal is clicked again, or do they only blink and stop after 5 or so seconds? thanks!

    Jason I went to replace my old tail light that was working and when I tried it put the new one on that was supposed to work with my 87 FXR. didn’t work.. ordered a different light from FXRdivision and again nothing, I went to put tue old one back on and ya that was dead now aswell.. I did obv cut the wires when I put the new tail lights on and properly connected them. Idk to be honest I just blasted around this summer a bit without it but now It’s driving me nuts any insight?

      Good chance they are not grounding correctly. Follow the wires and to the circuit board you may have blown a fuse

    • @freebirdsgarage

      Yes, but you will need to add a load resister or add a LED turn signal flasher module.

    • @freebirdsgarage
      @freebirdsgarage  Před 2 lety +1

      I did not. You have to shave down the highest part of the plate area and it will fit. Other wise you need to get a base plate from 91 and up.

      @@freebirdsgarage hey. I'm installing on of these moons Mc v3 tail lights too my 86 fxrs. Having the same fitment problem. With regards to Shaving the base plate down.. should.i shave down the point where the bulb would be ? It seems to protrude and prevent the lense from sealing.

    Was wondering what load equalizers you use and how many are needed? Thanks

    • @freebirdsgarage
      @freebirdsgarage  Před 2 lety +1

      On mine I needed 2 in-line in each light to make it work. So I skipped that and went with a badlands turn signal module. The part number should be in the description.

    Im starting to clean up my rear fender. Got a lay down plate in the mail today. Tonight im planning to order a lay down light cover and saddlemen seat just like yours. Electrical is my weak point so was going to run og bulbs. I just noticed the og style tail bulb comes out way to far for anything that will allow a shorter laid back cover i want so prob need to go led. The thing is i have a old set what i think are cool fender support/strut mounted with integrated turn signals id like to keep and need upgrade my front turn signal so maybe a munit nightmare (for me) might be in my furture?

      Going integrated is the way to go! It really cleans things up, if you can work a sodder gun and heat shrink you’ll do just fine. Only way do is to dive into it head first! Message me on Instagram if you get stuck!
