I religiously listen to The Weeknd, all his albums. All the time. I just love how much he has evolved. The part where he said he needs confidence in himself and look at him now. I’m so proud.

Made me sad that Coming Down was your least favorite track. It's such a grower. Such a fantastic, atmospheric song. One of his most underrated songs imo

I know “twenty eight” wasn’t included in the original house of balloons tape but it was released later on. Each tape has an additional song to them. House of balloons has “twenty eight”, Thursday has “Valerie” , and echoes of silence has “til dawn (here comes the sun)” I would love for you to check those out any way you can and see your reaction. Great video!!!! I’m reliving this experience through them!

To this day The Knowing is my favorite song of his. It is the perfect first glimpse into the insecurity and fragility underneath all the macho-ness. Feels like a prelude to Tears in the Rain

The origanl mix tapes and even going into kissland , Able brings out such dark tones and an addictive sound that truly grips you and never let go. I love seeing people explore deeper into the meanings of the song!

For me it's a 10 and his best album. I rarely give albums a 10 seeing as it's going in the same bracket of enjoyment as Songs in the key of life, Abbey Road What's Going On etc. This for me is a modern classic and created a whole genre. The influence of this one album is insane.

The morning is like perfection. I’ve never heard a song as perfect. I wish I could listen to it for the first time again

when this first dropped it was unreal. nobody knew who he was or what he looked like. there was 0 marketing and he 100% blew up based on word of mouth alone. it was just dropped on the internet and ppl made their way to it. he actually had a retail clerk job and would go into work hearing ppl talk abt his music but nobody knew it was him. also u made the right call listening to the originals version! the trilogy version has an extra 10th track for each mixtape and theyre all actually really good imo so if u feel like making a video on that after u finish thursday and EOS i’m here for it

This song has given me so many memories. Good and bad. Thats what i think about his music is that it makes you feel different almost every other listen. Such a great artist to put symbolic narratives in his albums.
Wicked Games has that same vibe that only a few very special songs have, including Call Out My Name. Those songs are to cry for. Every single fucking time.

I geeked hard out on this album when it fist dropped because of how the music perfectly matches the themes in the songs and the whole album kinda has a story line it follows. idk if it was all intentional or not but you can read pretty deep into this one.

I can’t explain how much I love this album
For the number of times you mentioned enjoying having the songs unsettle you, which is something is didn’t notice from them but realized after hearing you mention it that is probably why I love the whole album so much, I would recommend listening to Avith Ortega(inspired by Akira Yamaoka‘s silent hill soundtracks) not necessarily video material but the unsettling calm in most of the songs is something I can’t get enough of. My fave song is Always a bright side, and I love the album Trail to the Past. Fair warning they are all ambient music

You gotta listen to the bonus tracks that were added on trilogy (the remaster compilation of the 3 mixtapes). There’s 3 bonus tracks, each is after the 9th track of each mixtape. They are so good they might as well have been on the originals. Sidenote, the difference between the remastered versions and the original tracks aren’t as big as you might imagine, there are the few big changes here and there but overall the remaster carried over a lot of the samples.
