imo prisoners is a song which you play for the lyrics not for the vibe, the lyrics are freakin amazing and i can relate to them but that may not be the case for everybody. still tho even if you cant relate to them i recommend listening to the verses cuz the song is so well written, probably one of my fav lana x weeknd songs

Here Comes the Sun is actually my favorite song by Abel. Imo, if you just listen to EoS on its own, then the title track is a great closer. But for Trilogy as a whole, it’s a great ending to the story that it tells across all three mixtapes

Having gone through what was sung about in Until I Bleed Out, the song hits harder, as I think it would for people who have gone through the particular situation, it's very weird to be put back into a dark moment in life from just a song that doesn't reference it directly, but I love that song.

This channel is the only time I’ve ever heard the stereotypical joke about Canadians and how they say “about” lol never understood the South Park references or any of the comedians I’ve listened to until now 😂

This was the album that made me fall in love with The Weeknd as an artist. The timing of this album when it dropped and a Korean foreign exchange chick I met in college was so oddly specific, the music just reminds me of that time. Especially that “belong to the world” video capturing the vibe of how I felt. I remember having the wanderlust remix with Pharrell on repeat because it reminded me of that girl lol ahh man the memories, music truly is a Time Machine

I will never ever understand how people listen to the 2nd verse of Party 4 U and just let it slide without commenting about how magnificent it is for at least 2 minutes. I don’t blame her tho, every other person who reacted to this album completely ignored it. I think it’s because it’s the 9th song on the album and these people get tired of the album by that time. It is Charli’s finest moment in her entire career and one the most iconic moments in 2020s pop music.

I searched up record vinyl collection vids because I love to see what other people have, and yours is so fun! I officially started collecting vinyl 3 years ago and have a little over 40, but my mom has a chest full of old ones from when she was younger including the sound of music, the Beatles and the grease soundtrack. Those are what made we want to get my own player and start collecting, and I am so happy I did.

the unspoken tragedy of fantasyworld is something that renders the song devastating on third or fourth listen. i realized part way through my second listen through the album that the entire thesis of the song is that the fantasy world he tries to reach isn't arriving for him. he fantasizes about making the easy choice to end his own life because he believes he will be taken to rest and be free. the climax of the song, the way i see it, is his own suicide. he builds and builds this euphoria about this thing he had been planning for so long and imagines himself ascending to the place beyond the hill, but we, as the audience, know he cannot go there. the fireworks go off as he feels truly satisfied with dying. then, on cassini's division, we see his first moments born again as a ghost. there are no fireworks, no fanfare, no universal consolation, only lonely and familiar silence. he stops kicking and screaming and he turns around, covered in the same skin he already had. the afterlife isn't a fantasyworld, he isn't even really dead. he is forced to live on alone with the consequence of his choice, and watch the way it tortures the world he left behind. it's so raw, so cruel, so piercing. i this album looks me in my soul in a way that makes me feel naked.
