- This is my first time listening and reaction to the full "House of balloons" album by The Weeknd.
I love it when artists tell a story, this is just the beginning of Abel's story. Being young, partying, crazy nights, early morning chills.
This is also my first album reaction ever. I hope you enjoy.
House of Balloons is the first of three critically acclaimed mixtapes released for free download by The Weeknd, which was released on March 21, 2011.
This 9 track project was released under XO and Island Records. The project, primarily produced by Illangelo and Doc McKinney, pushed the boundaries of R&B, with its influences of trip-hop, indie rock and dream pop and incorporations of electronic/urban genres.
Because of this, it is widely considered one of the most influential R&B projects in recent years.

this is his first official mixtape, he did it around 20 years old, he does have some unrealsed songs that were made before house of balloons, there is an unofficial mixtape (is just a bunch of unrealsed songs put together by fans) called "the noise ep", but house of balloons is his first actual project.
I also heard some of the songs originally supposed to be on the mixtape were given to Drake for "Take Care". Crazy!
@@scorps0326 yeah, he gave the song "crew love" to drake and helped produced "practice", "the ride", and "shot for me", btw i really recommend the album take care, is prob drakes best body of work
Each of the three mixtapes he released has a bonus track (Twenty Eight, Valerie and Till Dawn). He added them once he released all the mixtapes as a single body of work in “Trilogy”. Would love a reaction to each of those tracks. Keep ‘em coming mate love the reactions

i respect walking away from Wicked Games so much that song is so heavy it absolutely flattens me every time. The Knowing is top 2 favorite song of all time for me no other song takes me where that song does

Wicked Games is the song that made him famous first time we heard that song back on 2011 it’s was a culture shock we never heard an R&B song that dark also Party and The Afterparty might grow on you I love the production n vibe of that song

This isnt his first attempt at music. He was putting music out for years under the name Kin Kane. He was mostly rapping then and he was in a group called The Noise. Then he went solo and was singing under the name Kin Kane but the songs weren't great like Rescue You, Do it those are his old songs before house of balloons. Then he changed his name to The Weeknd and dropped HOB
