@@heetmehta804 he didn’t talked about it since he talked about the actual mixtape without the bonus track
YES. Do all the mixtapes, whichever format. We'll never get tired of Ernest+TheWeeknd, it's a match made in heaven in all honesty
Yes indeed 👍
Yessirrr
+1
I’m not a die hard, but I’ve gone back and listened to at least all the past albums and songs. I’ve got to say, his engineering with sound is fascinating.
You are one of the reviewers on CZcams who really gets Abel,
I got introduced to him much late, did saw him a bit in BBTM era (Earned it and Love me Harder) but didn't got caught in my radar. I have this habit of listening to random music on CZcams while working and M A N I A started playing, I stopped working and switched the tab and I was like hey this shit is dope. When the Starboy album dropped I listened to the entire thing in that instant and fell in love with his music, and then I really wanted more of Abel so I went back and started listening to his old stuff and I was like "HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THIS GUY ALL THESE YEARS". I realized he comes from a way stronger deeper place you had clearly explained all that in your review.
Anyway hoping to see more amazing reviews from you :)
XOTWOD
All songs are really good. Can’t wait for the dawn
Glad you described the mystery around The Weeknd back in 2011. Nobody knew who he was or what he looked like. House of Balloons blew up off word of mouth on the internet. 2011 was a special year in music. I’ll never forgot listening to the mixtape and the first track being High for this.. I was hooked.
This song is in a different stratosphere of music. Eerie, Melancholy, beautiful. I can’t even put it into words how lucky we are to have Abel. His discography will forever go unmatched. Glad to be alive during his existence. A legend forever! Xo.
UNO YOU GOTTA DO THE REST OF THE MIIXTAPES AND KISSLAND NEXTTTTTTTTT
I remember discovering this as the trilogy and it is one of my all time favourites.. Absolute classic.. drug music, sex music, drinking music, driving music, literally anytime I wanna catch a vibe.. My ringtone is "The Zone" and has been for years..
Made it all the way to the end ,yes I would love to watch you break down songs from the mixtapes, your insight always helps me to delve deeper into the true meaning behind lyrics and songs
Abel needs to go down as one of the greatest artist of all time
This mixtape is so painful. You can hear and sense the pain and hurt that Abel was feeling when he younger in the party life. The Weeknd is one of the most talented and influential artists I’ve ever listened to. Your breakdown of the music has helped me understand his music and other music a lot better and know what the person is talking about. I have to give credit to you Ernest. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I still remember after Trilogy came out when people were searching for his MySpace pages and were connecting Thursday and other songs to certain women in particular videos he was in with. His lore was massive back in the day. It still is, kinda. But it was so much more mysterious way back.
But they had pretty much figured out who he was before he even said who he was.
Which was also pretty creepy, imo.
That Drake link changed an entire genre of music, honestly.
They also found out his actual first mixed tape when he went under a completely different persona.
Which is how they found the "Happy Birthday" video he did.
One of my favorite songs ever from The Weeknd is on one of those tapes and it's called "Birthday suit"
Just damn dude.
2011 was the year where I discovered The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar and really changed my taste in music
I discovered Abel after Echoes but before Trilogy. Found them all on Dat Piff. His music changed my life at the time where I found how much music itself meant to me. From EDM, Dubstep, R&B, Hip Hop, and Trance/House beats with his lyrics...this mixtape legitimately changed R&B and he created his own lane from it. Even tho others have come after him with very similar sounds and styles, but he evolves so much beyond that right when they seem to be where he was the previous couple of years where he once was. Every word you spoke in %1000 absolute truth. Everyone needs to see this.
I really enjoy listening to people talk about artists they actually love listening to. As opposed to casual listeners who try to explain songs without knowing anything about them or the artists backstory
This is such a valuable and amazing piece of work man, i really appreciate your effort and passion to make us fall in love with Abel's music all over again, really appreciated🔥🔥
BROOO WE NEEDED THIS AND WE NEED THE 2 OTHER BROTHA. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Fr fr
man i’m watching this with a smile on my face, from start to finish, i feel so proud as well. XOTWOD!!!
FULL FORM OF XOTWOD?
Yes please do the rest of mixtapes and other albums! I've been on The Weeknd train for a long time! Saw him in his early days as well. This was beautifully done. I think we all would love more Weeknd breakdowns! The dawn is coming ❤ XO
Ernest!! Thank you for doing the review!! I’ve been hella waiting for this from you!! Can’t wait for the rest of the mixtapes!! 😍🖤
Much appreciation for the thoughtful and insightful analysis. Looking forward to videos on the next two mixed tapes.
Damn Ernest is fucking right. In 2011 in college I remember finding HOB, and RnB completely shifted in its sound
I first meet Able's music in beauty behind the madness and I can't imagine not being able to put a face to that voice
Always in for a video/review on The Weeknd's song or album! Was probably too out of touch or young lol, to know who The Weeknd was at the time. Only after Trilogy came out and years after did I listen to the collection of mixtapes.
HoB/Glass Table Girls is 1 of my fav tracks maybe in my top 10 of all time - it's haunting sound and just unique music along with the vocals..daamn.
Definitely look forward and hope you continue with this series!! So dope man always love what you do. Take care!
Yes yes yes, found him when I was 12 right when trilogy dropped. Wicked games did it for me
Same!!! growing up with The Weeknd and Lana del Rey and discovering them just starting high school, I think are the best things that happened to me
I sang my lungs out to every song omg, I've been waiting for you to make this video sjfjagksh
Crazy. This is the best breakdown of house of balloons in YT. Nobody understands Weeknd better than Ernest
Your breakdowns are real bruh! Damn! It's like learning a language.
As a huge weeknd fan I really loved this. Def would love to see more like it🔥🔥
The feeling that you had discovering Abel so early, I had the same feeling finding your channel when you had like 14k subs
You lucky!
W
I appreciate the time and the vision that you put on each videos that you’ve mad but mostly on The Weeknd video. Thank you for bring us back to the beginning. And looking forward for the next video. Take care !
Okay man i was really thinkin about you doing an review of this album and there you are.... X'O
Can't believe i made but i made it thats for sure !!!!
I would really love for you to do the same review of the other 2 tapes...
Please please we need Thursday and echoes of silence, the way you connect all The Weeknd discography and explain with such emotions, YES WE NEED MORE THE WEEKND 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ♥️
Been waiting for this! Made it to the end and now I need every mixtape and album of Abel reviewed in this way ❤️.
Fr fr was waiting for you to do this man I hated myself for doubting Abel back then but now I even have a trilogy and kissland tattoo! Keep up the great work bro!
you gotta do all the mixtapes and the albums too
love your videos :)
xo
Made to the end!!! I appreciate sound more than lyrics so I appreciate how you break songs down. At least now I know what they're about 😅
The Knowing is my favorite song by The Weeknd because it was one of the first songs I listened to by him back in like 3rd grade
yesss we want all the mixtapes in long form
Great video! Thanks for the analysis ;) I definitely think The Knowing remains my favorite of all his songs.
Echoes of silence is my favorite mixtape. But keep them coming. You are the only one who gets every second of your video watched
37.25 club herr. This was a magnificent analysis of the poetic masterwork of this lyrical master. This is a perfect example of why you should listen to an entire album, exactly how the artist curated each and every song. So that their entire story could be understood, with each segment being a different chapter, that creates the mood and atmosphere that can be appreciated fully, only as a complete project.
really appreciated this, your weeknd content is why im hereee. can't wait for the breakdown of the rest of the discography dude!! made it to the end
I discovered the Weeknd on CZcams and fell in love with the dark, drug fueled xo til we overdose sound. When he dropped House of Balloons mixtape I was hooked for life. Listening to High For This, Wicked Games, The Knowing, Loft Music, etc., his music was like a drug
Made it to the end! Most definitely would enjoy a review to every mixtape. XO
This was a fantastic reading of the mixtape. You pretty much hit on everything about why I love this mixtape so much and why it really resonates with me. First thing I ever heard from The Weeknd was Can't Feel My Face back when it was all over the radio. I had no idea just what a crazy ride I was putting myself on when I started to go through his discography. Trilogy is truly something special and I would for sure love to see you cover the other two tapes (Echoes of Silence is lowkey my favorite)
I was on The Weeknd EARLY too! These are my favorite tapes! I’m one of the fans that hated when he blew up and was recognized by the world.
I was also on Drake EARLY EARLY! Y’all remember when he had the All-Things Fresh website?! The city is mine, stay fly, money to blow BEFORE birdman took it smh
Im here for any and all The Weeknd content you drop...cant get enough!!
Never really listened much to the weekend but this is was so interesting to watch!
Made it till the end and yes... please do all the mixtapes... while you at it, do every chapter too! XO4L! 🇿🇦🖤
Loved this video just to reflect on the growth and evolution of Abel. 🙏
I made it to the end. Waiting for the next 2 mixtapes.
Yes love the content as always please do all the mixtapes and kissland too. Your take on the music is amazing to hear
The video I’ve been waiting for!! XO!
The first beat drop in high for this... Dawg , it gave me goosebumps the first time hearing ...god damn , good ol'days
Yes please do the other mixtapes!!
I got goosebumps everytime I hear the first track of the mixtape
Abel is one’s of the most talented humans to every walk earth. You the best tractor out there by far bro keep it up
notice how In Coming Down get more hypnotic/echoed and the instrumental layered up as we get in depth of the song
just like in Tears in the rain
Made it to the end! Thanks for covering this mixtape, I just added it to my playlist to go through myself!
Yes! Die hard here since the beginning with the mixtapes! I haven’t even watched this video in it’s entirety yet but I already love it! 🖤🖤🖤
yes! yes! we need all 3 of them
I AM A DIE HARD! I would love you to do breakdowns of the whole discog man... love your XO videos
YESS I was waiting for this thank youuuu!!!🎉🎉🎉
Man if you'd like to make this into a series, I'd be glad to be a part of the journey. The way you break down his music, makes me appreciate it more than I already have.
This vid is seriously what I needed rn😂
Yes found The Weeknd early. It was awesome following every release and hearing the leaks. Even performed Twenty Eight for a talent show back in high school lol
House of balloons pulled me out of my depression just from the vibes alone.
No other artist has ever hit me like Abel. I have heard hundrerd of artists, and still do, but I don't know the instant connection with Abel's music was insane and it's still the same. I can't even elaborate on it...
Ernest low key got them pipes 🗣🗣🗣
Lmao no he doesn’t u must be tone deaf 🧏♂️ 🤣🤣🤣
It sucks that Its pretty rare to find someone my age who listens to the weeknds old stuff they are all missing out on his music 😒
FINALLY. A review to it. Was hoping for a reaction but happy you broke this down nonetheless. #XOTWOD
I came across the weeknd in Wiz Khalifa's Remember me song... I didn't cared much about Wiz but Weeknds vocals were so awesome I searched all his songs and became a fan. I never thought he would later become so big !
Everything you said in the beginning about finding The Weekend is 100% facts, I was right there with you man. I'll definitely be back if you breakdown all his mixtapes & albums. XOTWOD
That was the very best ever thing I have seen for The Weeknd on the internet. Thank you, hahah I don't have words 🙂
I love your analysis!
The Knowing = Best Weeknd Song Ever
Definitely down for more of these kind of videos. you've gotta do kissland aswell
😍Amazing! This ^^ is Next level & going be a great way to introduce my adult friends to THE WEEKND ^_^ Your insightful commentary reaction Is Sooo Choice!! Amazing Understanding 💯; Thanks so much my guy! 🔥❤️ just wow / made it to the end

What!!! Dude. You don’t know how long I’ll be waiting for this !!♥️♥️♥️🥺
This is my favorite mixtape. Echoes of silence being a super close second.
Been a die hard Weeknd fan since mixtapes!! Finally got that XO tatted on me too! 🖤

Made it to the end! ABSOLUTELY continue on with the next 2!
Broo you're the goat for this truly 🐐🐐
Always make it to the end, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Kissland
So upset I didn't discover The Weeknd during his beginnings (I was in elementary school), I don't know about you but I personally first heard him when Or nah dropped and been a fan ever since.
PLEASEEEEEEE react to MDM PLEASEEEEE
can't wait for the next mixtape
this is my safe place. i dont care about wll the fake xos man, i love trilogy and i love old abel, and the third ernest and tbis comment section is just the perfect place sharing my emotions about old abel. i love iy here
I remember when he first came out. Old Weekend slaps. I specifically remember listening to this tape for the first time driving to work, after a friend had burned it on CD for me. I was big into EDM/Dubstep type stuff at the time and I remember loving how he incorporated EDM-esque, gritty ass beats into it. That's what caught me
dude i just finished and loved it! please do the other mixtapes! kiss land would be awesome too!
Would love if you break down all of his albums.
Lol u been lovin on this mixtape since I been watching u.....love u revisiting Abel's older work. 👌
I lowkey miss these kind of videos, without the stream, no disrespect to the grind on streams but I miss these kinds of videos too!
Made it till the end. And yes I still havnt heard echoes of silence so I’m excited to learn about it
