An Overture is a Piece of Music that is so to speak the "Opener" to a larger Work.. Like for example an Opera traditionally has an Orchestral Overture that leads into
the actual Drama, where then Vocalists are singing and acting on Stage.
An Introduction to a Selection of following Pieces..
Paganini was a famous Violin Virtuoso during Beethoven Time, he is famous for his Skills and especially his Etudes that have become Showpieces not only for Violin Players but in Adaptations also on other Instruments.
You can jump forward/back with the ARROW KEYS (if your last button pushed was play) ... if you adjust the volume you will adjust the volume instead.
When you know Beethoven and Liszt you never forget haha
Also, the composer, Franz Liszt was actually Hungarian. His name was translated into German (Liszt Ferenc, in Hungarian), likely due to the fact that he spent a great deal of his life there. If you like Liebestraum No.3, you will probably like his 6 consolations, and the other Liebesträume.
Mozart started composing at age 5
He is also - according to rumor - the record holder for "traveling in a coach WITHOUT SUSPENSION" ... because he was contantly traveling.
Wrote "Va, dal furor portata" k.21 at 9.
Unless he was an idiot savant.
The Nutcracker is a famous Ballett, played always at christmas time.
Greetings from Germany
It's a russian ballet based on a German tale by ETA Hoffmann
Stravinsky: rite of spring would be easy to fall asleep, too
Strings, percussion and brass - ohh, you sweet summer child 😂😂😂😂
Mozart's dad had him and his sister touring as child prodigy's all over Europe when he was five. They were playing for kings and emperors.
9:40 "[The Rite of Spring] would have been nice to sleep to" 😂
I was just gonna comment that😅😂
Stravinsky's Rite of spring (the lullaby) is about heathens in medieval Russia sacrificing a virgin to celebrate spring. It's a huge and peculiar piece, it would be fun to see your reaction to it.
Overture (from French "Ouverture" what means opening) is simply the opening of a classical piece (opera, symphony etc.).
Lawrence of Arabia ...
Not all opening movements to classical music are called overtures. Just for works like operas, cantatas, and the like. Not for symphonies or sonatas etc.
@@composaboi So what would you call the Ouverture of Beethoven's Fifth? This is a symphony if I recall well.
@@raatroc I don’t know what you’re talking about. Beethoven’s fifth symphony does not have an overture. Maybe you’re confusing his egmont overture?
"Abertura" em Português
I am German, but just because they have German names, they were not all German. Strauss was Austrian, with Mozart we argue
Austrians are Germans. There was no Germany when Mozart and Schubert were alive. All the people in the former German duchies spoke German, so ethnically, they're Germans.
@@thomasburres Also wer will mich über europäische und deutsche Geschichte aufklären?
@@ulmerle100 Er hat aber recht
@@thomasburres But when Mozart and Schubert were alive there was an Austrian Empire. Greetings from Austria.
@@thomasburres Are all Canadians US citizens?
The rite of spring is not a piece to fall asleep too lmao, itll keep you up all night
Solomon or Solomon wise, one of biggest hebrew kings, Sheba is biblical location for Etiopia region. biblical strongest man was Samson and his hair was cut by Delilah/Dalilah
7:42 funny how you mention Paganini as being oiginal, 'cause there's a lot of "classical" music works references to Paganini's caprices. Everybody has "variations" about his Caprices - to a point it feels very much like samplings!
Liszt... If Liszt wasnʼt influenced by paganini, alot of his greatest works wouldnt be here today. Like his grand etudes
#83 Johann Strauss II is from Austria. The Strauss from Germany is Called Richard.
Indeed, and they're not related.
The Strauss from the US is called Levi.
Apparently Tchaikovsky didn't like his music for 'The Nutcracker' that much, considered it one of his lesser works. Not sure how he felt personally about 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Swan Lake'.
"Ouverture" is the beging of a symphony or an Opera.... You can translate this by "Opening"
Try this one Georg Friedrich Händel Watermusic, a german compsing music in England or Vivaldis Four Seasons for a Mood Pleaser
I live in Thaxted in Essex UK where Gustav Holst lived for a while and was the local Church Organist and Choir master. Whilst here, he came up with the planets suite and if you look in books or on music for the suite, it says “The planets Thaxted”.
Recommendation: There's this CZcams channel called We Are One. It belongs to a classical pianist named Lionel Yu who does a lot of cool things; he composes his own pieces and often come with a story.
Tchaikovsky is my favorite, makes me feel like a kid again, filled with joy and happiness.
But Chopin has some of my favorite pieces, "Nocturne Op.9 No.2" and "Etude Op. 25 No. 11 (Winter Wind)."
Brahms also has 21 Hungarian Dances that I appreciate very much.
Opera *is* classical mucic (usually), and developed hand in hand with the rest of it. Lot's of classical music has singing in it, and not all are operas. Lakmé is an opera though. (4:25)
Beethoven's piano sonatas (he composed 32) are the best. Especially the no1, no8, no21, no23, and from 29th to end... 32 has a badass theme and even boogie-woogie-like discovery by Beethoven.
Leo Delibes was french and wrote the opera Lakmé.
Sir Karl William Pamp Jenkins CBE is Welsh and was born on 17 February 1944 in Penclawdd, Gower, Wales. His Genres are Jazz, Rock and Classical and he plays Keyboard, Oboe and Saxophone.
Overture.. Very..basically the main musical themes of the opera together played as opening section. So yeah, that would explain why it's a bop?😅
"Stravinsky's rite of spring would be a great one to fall asleep to" famous last words 😂
87.Carlos Gardel "Por una Cabeza" Tango. This tune is played on the ship in the movie "Titanik" 5:59
I think you have Titanic mixed up with Schindler's List.
@@leonlinton634 Yes,you're right:)))
@@leonlinton634 Also in "True Lies" and "Scent of a Woman".
Singers in classical music (not opera) are pretty common, especially in masses. My choir sang a mass from Delibes and one from Liszt about a month ago in concert. You should look into this kind of music if you’re interested. Classical singing is fire (especially for the artist, it’s so fun to do because it’s challenging and absolutely beautiful), I’ve mostly done catholic religious music but there’s more to it than that !
A good waltz. Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the flowers from The Nutcracker
Thank you for doing another reaction to classic.
I'll bet that you have heard of more of these composers than you think. It's hard to get the pronunciation from the spelling, but if you heard it pronounced, it would ring a bell.
You probably can fall asleep to some of these. Your library may have them to lend. You may not have a CD player (or, in my day, record player), but modern libraries can often do downloads these days (though you may have to download an app, so that your "copy" can "go back to" the library at the end of your borrow period (copyrights and all that).
An overture is often something of a sampler of themes that will be used more fully later in the piece.
Choral music exists apart from opera, and can be paired with an orchestra, or sung a cappella (a.k.a accapella). As a Beethoven fan, you really need to hear the 4th movement of his 9th symphony, which, half way through, has substantial singing (known as the Ode to Joy).
An opera is a play whose lines are (mostly) sung.
There were no recording devices when most of these things were written. There was only (hand) copy the sheet music (no photocopiers, not even carbon paper) and get an orchestra (or pianist, etc.) to play it again.
An overture is an orchestral piece at the beginning of an opera, play, etc. In other words an introduction to something more substantial.
Don't worry your taste is good.... Beethoven is a Genius !
7:04
paganini is considered the greatest violinist of all time
he sold hes soul to devil to play violin
and they sent him to jail for it
I learned how to play the Bach cello suite no 1 prelude g. on piano.
I also learned the Bach prelude c major . ❤
Both are so pretty 😍
You have a good ear for classic music
Who attacks Beethoven? He's as good as it gets especially considering the personal obstacles he had to overcome to produce his greatest music.
Some of them good ol' Ludwig Van!
Followed by some ultra violence and a bit of the ol in and out 😉
Classical music is like an umbrella term for artistic music as opposed to pop (popular) music. Classical music was very pop during its time. But nowadays classical is mostly performed in concert halls or opera houses. We are too fixed with CFGC-combination in popular music nowadays that anything that crosses the line is not suitable for listening. When you dare yourself to look back, you learn something new.
One second per piece is waaay to long to get an impression. One can do 100 in just four seconds.
Liebestraum No. 3 is my favourite piece from Liszt!
I think you'd really like Beethoven's Appassionata played by Lang Lang
4:39 opera is just one sort of classical music
I'm on your side, Beethoven should be considered the greatest. Tchaikovsky is my personal favourite though.
Beethoven is in the top 5 for me for sure
Could u react to classical vocal music or opera pieces? For some suggestions habanera from carmen, nessun dorma from turandot, dido’s lament, un bel di from madame butterfly. There’s also art song which is really beautiful which is the classical version of singer/songwriter music in a way
You are s-o cute! You discover the beauty of classical music. Good for you! You raise your intelectual and emoțional level. I am not jocking! I am so glad for you! All our life we have something to learn. ♥️🍀✨
9:43 yeah......
Bach Beethoven Stravinsky and Liszt are the most iconic composers of all time and Mozart
Bach, Beethoven, Mozart - yes. Certainly not Liszt.
That's not 100 - where's the rest of it???
Opera IS classical music
German or Germanic composers GOAT
Sheba didn't cut any hair. Delilah was the haircutter and Samson was her victim
I will say, Bach has like over 1,000 different pieces spanning different styles of composition and varying instrument focus. Paganini one of the most iconic violin centered composers; his 24 Caprices, insane.
Eh...2 seconds snaps or so? Like the Flower Duet. Well these youtube videos are mostly about the people trying to focus the attention to themselves rather then the music anyway. One big egotrip if you ask me.
3s per pieces is non sense. Internet. React to some complete pieces, much more interesting
This is just so sad
"Liebestraum" = love's dream
Also: TERRIBLE video to react to, because you dont get more than a few notes from each song.
Why people pronounce Bach like Bok? It's pronounced "Bahrr", it means stream
I don't know where they say that way, but certainly not in German-speaking countries. The "ch" sound is quite distinctive and nowhere near an R.
Didn´t know, but there's a lot of Rs, I tried / listened it on google translator. Ot at least it sounds like an R after vowels, like in "achtung"
@Thinker the "ach" reads like ahrr
Attention span....
Mozart ,Bach and Beethoven were German
