I always said if you were to ask a player like Luka who carries so much of the offensive load for his team to also play hard-nosed defense every game, its kinda like being a breadwinner in a relationship and having kids working 3 different jobs paying all the bills and still asked to cook, clean the house and help the kids with their homework like "Why did I get in this partnership for when I'm asked to do all of the work? Pick up your end of the couch." The guy has only one pair of legs and If you dont average a triple double, play defense. What's the point of having specialists if i have to do everything. Especially with Kyrie not even playing 70 games this season and it was luka for the most part keeping things together enough to get to the playoffs with not much talent before the trade.
True enough but in playoffs it's step up cause you can't you lose and you're done... So for playoff games Luka got to step up a bit and he has on d- fallen a minor dip in off...though...he needs to hit a little more then it be time to look at the title...

I don't know why the mainstream sports media thought Luka was horrible on defense. He's always been average. The season where they were picking Ja over him because "Ja plays on both ends," Luka ranked higher than him defensively.

Finally the media isn’t saying he’s bad at defense. He’s not elite but he’s decent when he doesn’t need to exert all his energy 40 minutes on offense. He’s a big boy and can definitely use his size on defense.
