Interesting, I had to double check but it appears the barrier in the median of the Coronado bridge is a movable concrete design they can shift based on traffic. Looks like its 3 lanes back to the mainland during the day but only 2 at night. I believe this is very similar to what Caltrans is planning to put in on the Golden Gate.
