  • The Lomography Sprocket Rocket is one of Lomography’s staple products. This is a 35mm panoramic film camera with a fixed 30mm lens. Lomography lent me this camera to review without any sort of payment or influence.

If you use the mask to cover the sprockets, it creates even more striking panos. The exposed sprockets are fun, but masking them makes the images feel a bit more polished.

dude, i got one exactly the same color as yours and i love the images it produces. well, its low-fi but it has the distinctive characteristic that no digital cameras can emulate. its a keeper!

Thanks for the Sprocket Rocket review.
When I feel the need for a 24x70mm panoramic image like that produced by the Sprocket Rocket, I load a roll of 35mm film into one of my 6x7cm medium format cameras. However, the widest lens I have for my 6x7cm medium format camera is a 50mm lens. I may try the Sprocket Rocket with its 30mm lens.

Just bought a Sprocket Rocket and looking to shoot some black and white film. Absolutely love the grainy "GIANT CAMERA" shot at 0:05. What stock did you use?

I’m so torn on this camera. I love the size and weight and operation. But the corners are so weak that sometimes I wish I was just shooting a (muskier and heavier) film SLR with a good 28mm or 24mm lens. It often feels like the only usable part of the image is the equivalent of a single 35mm frame.
I know there are medium format cameras with better lenses, and there are means of adapting 35mm film into them. But the loading is always something of a kludge, while the sprocket rocket’s film winding is rather good. I sometimes think about getting a torn or broken folding camera, and hacking that lens onto it.
If Lomo ever made, say, a Sproket Rocket Pro which used the lens from one of their nicer medium format cameras like the Lubitel 166+ or the LC-120, I think that would be a big winner. It’d no doubt bulk up the camera, and a 75mm lens would have a very different look, but the gains in IQ and control would be worthwhile.

I definitely resonate with how you feel about the build of this camera. I had it as my third "everyday carry" camera while in Alaska as a backup. I love the ability for the Sprocket Rocket to capture the sweeping landscape of an image, but I do agree that if this camera had a "pro" version it would become much more successful and useful.
Fingers crossed, hoping for Lomography to release another iteration!

Just bought a second hand one and started taking pictures with it, when I finished one film I tried to rewind and somehow I probably broke the white dot thing and now the white dot is not showing up when I advance my film lmao unlucky

@@BrianCho yea and I couldn't find anyone with the same problem lol. I'll update once I get it fixed in case if anyone has the same problem

Ok so in case anyone in the future got this problem:
I bought a smaller screwdriver set(it was for watches) for like 3 usd and spent an hour taking every parts off the camera. I recommend taking a picture of the frame counter thing before you separate everything. I got lazy and didn't take a picture so I ended up spending more time trying to figure out where everything goes lol.
Anyways the white dot thingy is actually a thin, round piece of plastic and it turns as the other plastic gears turn so you see the white dot appearing and disappearing. Idk why they separated this plastic with the gear but I guess mine went out of place and so the white dot thingy stopped working. I kinda glued them together and placed everything back and the problem was fixed!
Thank god I tried to fix it by myself before handing it to a local shop, they told me I will have to pay 5+ usd and wait 2-3 weeks ain't no way I'm gonna wait for that

I got this camera for Christmas it came out with the worst photos I’ve ever seen. How on earth do you get good shots with it?
