    This is by far the best camera review I’ve seen. First of all…No boring unboxing!!! Yes new stuff comes in boxes. We all know that. Move on already. Second you shared the images almost immediately. No waiting for a dissertation for 10 minutes before sharing the results of the camera. Third, the way you shared how the camera worked, buttons and lenses and what not, was tastefully done. You gave your opinion in a fun way. So many YT’ers give camera opinions and are so smug about it. You were sincere and honest without being a dick.
    Now, I’m nobody so this may not mean anything to you. If so that’s cool. Either way, I think the video was awesome. I’ve been looking at the Diana and I have some great info to consider it I want to get one.
    Thank you sir.

    Since all the shutter responsibilities are relegated to the lens barrel, I wonder if you can take one apart and mate the back, Instax-y bit to a Graflok 120 film plane like the Impossible Instant Lab and use it on a 4x5 camera. Or hell, even the 2x3, depending on the size of that opening at 9:10.

    • @seksualusis
      @seksualusis Před rokem

      There is at the very least Instax Back for Diana+, dedicated subsystem to capture on instax mini. I guess it might be transferable, taken care of sealing the meeting perimeter and getting sorted with the distance to the film plane.

    you have much more exp than me in that theme, please i need a simple advice..
    Going to buy Instant camera as a present for a birthday for a student..
    im deciding between OneStep+, and Diana Square. Dont wanna buy Polaroid, cause of films price..
    do they both can give same picture quallity? Thank you

    • @mikamo
      @mikamo Před 3 lety

      Since nobody’s said anything in a month, I’ll chip in. Polaroid’s films are much more temperamental, experimental, and expensive. Instax films are pretty uniform and cheaper. So unless this student is the artsy type, I’d go for the Instax.

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  Před 3 lety

      Around here, Instax film goes for between 14 and 16 USD. But you get more exposures, Fuji sells double packs which are 20 exposures as opposed to he 8 you get with Polaroid. I actually recently made a vid comparing fuji and Polaroid, which breaks down pricing and all that jazz

    is there any way to use the plastic peg to hold the shutter closed?

    • @SweetLouPhotography
      @SweetLouPhotography  Před 3 lety

      Just tested this, you can kinda stick it in there, but the problem is the peg gets held in there by the pressure from the shutter. So when it's closed, it doesn't have that pressure and it can slide right back out (keep in mind though mine is a used model from Lomo, so it's possible a new one might offer more resistance, mine might be worn out)

      @@SweetLouPhotography Got the camera! I use the peg occasionally to hold the shutter lever closed, not ideal but it works for a while. i want someone to make an instax square SLR camera with interchangable lenses, that'd be dope AF

    • @mikamo
      @mikamo Před 3 lety +1

      The problem with making an SLR Instax is the mirror of an SLR. Polaroid made SLRs (SX-70, etc), because their film is exposed from the front. That’s why the film loads horizontally, because they NEED a mirror to flip the image. On Polaroid film, if you expose it directly to the lens, everything would be reversed. And it’s exactly the opposite with Instax: it’s exposed from the back. So if you use a mirror, then everything would be reversed. Which is why it’s loaded horizontally and exposed directly to the lens. 35mm, 120 and sheet film doesn’t have this problem, because all those films are translucent, i.e., you can see the image from either side of the film. But unless you’re doing an emulsion lift or something, that’s just not the case with instant films.

    I got the pinhole operator one. But I'm very disappointed. These Diana's for me are really just cheap toy cameras. Everything is cheap flimsy plastic and easy to break. If they would charge a few quid; no problem. But like 50? That's insanely overpriced in my opinion.
    Do you know why lomography is so f****** expensive? Just because they can?
