The Lomo'Instant Square - RED35 Review

- If you're a fan of instax or curious about instant photography, you may have seen Lomography's Kickstarter campaign last year featuring the Lomo'Instant Square, which uses the latest Instax Square format films - you may have even seen a glimpse of Jimmy in their campaign film as he had the chance to play with the prototype way, way back then.
Since then, the Lomo'Instant Square has become a reality and Lomography UK very kindly allowed Red35 to review their latest offering to the instax market.

Only just found your channel but thanks for this video! I'd love to get an instant camera with glass lens for street photography but I'm torn between this Lomo'Instant Square Glass and the Lomo'Instant Automat Glass. Apart from the difference in film size, which would you recommend (e.g. clearer photos, less vignetting)? I know I can't expect film/digital camera quality from instax cameras but it's hard to resist the fun of having an instant film printed right away :)
Nicole Leong May I suggest the Diana Instant Square, you can swap lenses and use the glass one too! This is my favourite now for instant square\

Doesn't this camera shoot both the square and mini formats? I didn't hear you mention that, that was a major plus for this camera imo
First thanks for watching our video. At time of review, the Instax mini adaptor wasn't available and hence I didn't mention it or couldn't test it. I was one of the first who tested the prototype of this and it was a proven to be a great camera.

Currently thinking of investing in an instant film camera. Was looking at either getting the TL70 or the Lomo Automat Glass. Or both... wink, wink.
Wow, you hit my spot! These two are very different cameras. I love the ability to isolate subject with the TL70 while the Automat Glass, which I own, is a super cool street snap machine! There's a quirky 'ring' in some photos when shoot into the sun but it's a very 'Lomo' thing if you like that effect. I personally enjoy the Glass, it's one of my all time favourite instax camera. That 21mm equi lens is just awesome! Then I also like the TL70!
Thank you for the insight. I also like the perk you get with the TL70, free film for life. Maybe I will get both. That will take a lot of saving.
