Any avid Jordan fan knows that this is the first Jordan shoe Tinker Hatfield designed. It spawned a long lasting and highly collaborative relationship between MJ and Hatfield. The Air Jordan 3 changed the entire design direction for the Jordan line. Oh yeah and it also helped Nike keep Michael Jordan as their athlete.

For a long time, 11's were my favorite. But I think it's been overtaken by the 3's. Such an iconic shoe, more practical than the 11's and more durable. The Black Cement 3's are a thing of beauty.

I wasn't super into them on first glance but they really grew on me. I think they're 2nd behind the 4s.
Anytime they replace the elephants print with something else they don’t feel like 3s they just feel wrong

just got my first pair of jordan 1s and 3s cant believe how comfortable the 3 is over the 1 although the 1 is pretty good. i found em brand new with tags but no boxes at a local goodwill for 5 bucks a pair cant believe someone just donated them to em. i bet they had the boxes but they threw them out since they wouldnt fit on there shelves.

Yeah I believe that and you. I seen a little piece about the British heart foundation charity shop's and they have had to set up a dedicated Ebay selling account for items that are just brand new and just far too good to put in the shop for £5. I think I'll see what they are selling. 🤔
@@johna6602 in the usa the goodwills or at least the ones ive been to usually put stuff like this in a locked case but because of covid for some reason they arent locking anything up and are just putting everything out on shelves at regular price so thats why i couldnt believe they were 5 bucks. ive seen much more worn jordans for 50 and more in the same goodwill and i bet the ones i got would have been 100 any other time. was kinda pissed when they said they threw the boxes out though.

The Air 3 was the first Nike for me . I switched out of leather converse . They were very comfortable but I did find the heel support a little harsh with extended wear .

I also really love the Tinker Jordan 3 Retros, I have a pair of the Air Max colorway of the Tinker 3s (the one with interchangeable swooshes and based on the og Red Air Max One). However, for me, the Air Jordan 3 and every Air Jordan after just looks better and amazing without the giant Swoosh on the side, and this is why I love the Black and White Cement 3s, clean and very easy to wear with anything.

My 2nd favorite Jordan shoe. This is a masterpiece and Tinker Hatfield definitely deserves the flowers he is getting. He is the best shoe designer ever My favorite color ways are the Black Cement, Red Cement and True Blues. I'm not a huge fan of the tinker version but it's looks great my favorite version of the tinker one is the Red and white one. Definitely the best along with the 4's, 1's, 11's, 6's and the 5's

Nike need to thank tinker Hatfield for saving Nike as a company. If it wasn't for the Air Jordan 3 and Michael would have left for let's say a company like Adidas or Reebok and 1987-1988, Nike wouldn't be the global juggernaut that it is today in athletic shoes and apparel. I got a pair of the black cement tinker 3. Nice solid shoe. I had a pair of the fire reds back in '08, but I wore those to the sole came apart. Lol.
