Film Theorists, did you watch Winnie the Pooh? I did and one of the things that sticks in my memories with sharp clarity is Pooh's huge love of honey. That Pooh bear was never far from a pot of honey. It was one of his biggest passions. It seemed to me like he ate it for pretty much every meal. Now, I may not be a specialist on bears but that strikes me as a very dangerous diet for a bear or any animal! Is Pooh's love of honey actually killing him? It's time to find out!

Could you do a theory on Klaus for December 2022? It's a really good movie with amazing characters and I think there'll be theories galore to find.
1:53
My idea: Off screen eating. He goes to the river all the time. And killing fish on screen would be too much "ketchup" for the kids. If he ate proportionate amounts of fish and carcasses off screen, it could balance out his honey consumption. You have to account for the fact that this *I S* a kids movie and that it can't show things dying. I know how you are about cartoons but consider the audience. How would you feel if a fish or a rat got ripped in half by wholesome Pooh?
I love messed up and disturbing tv shows and stuff, and I did as a child too, so for me, it be pretty cool
In one episode of Winnie the Pooh rabbit tries to make pooh hibernate and he fails, when he wakes up from his nap, he says that he cannot hibernate because he is not a Norma bear, but a Pooh bear, which means that pooh is his own species of bear, the pooh bear.
Oh no, now I've been reminded of that CGI show. And I remember that exact episode.

MatPat does mention in his theory that an over-reliant honey diet kills the bear's biological ability to hibernate. Perhaps Pooh is simply experiencing the negative connotations of his dietary choices?

"Its not Winnie the Pooh, Its Winnie Ther Pooh"
According to the books. And no i don't know what it means. Lol
And yes, "Ther" that was not a typo.
maybe The is his middle name making Pooh his last. Pooh could be Japanese (Made In Japan) since he goes by his last name.
"Milne’s introduction to his 1924 book When We Were Very Young traces the origin of the second half of the name to a swan: “Christopher Robin, who feeds this swan in the mornings, has given him the name of ‘Pooh.’ This is a very fine name for a swan, because, if you call him and he doesn’t come (which is a thing swans are good at), then you can pretend that you were just saying ‘Pooh!’ to show him how little you wanted him.”"
It makes more sense to call him Pooh because that's the point of the name to begin with - If he doesn't come, then it doesnt matter.
Excellent episode!!
This is crazy, but I seem to remember multiple times that Winnie the pooh refers to his insides as stuffing.

@SomeonPC No it's not! To my knowlegde (could be mistaken of course) ADHD for exemple was first discorered a lot later than 1926.
@@joshuaschulze-reimpell5000 That's incorrect - the first medical textbook describing something that sounds like ADHD was in 1798 - and some 1800s medical textbooks mention children who have what we now call ADHD, its core symptoms were first formally lectured about in 1902, and it wasn't in the DSM until 1968 as "hyperkinetic impulse disorder" and then ADD with/without hyperactivity in 1980, and finally changed to ADHD in 1987, with the 3 subtypes (predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive, and combined) being added in 1994... however, descriptions of what look to be ADHD behaviours have been found dotted around history in literature and art, and even the bible. The earliest known mention of what we consider "modern ADHD" was by Hippocrates in c.400 BCE... so it's quite possible Tigger could have been modelled on people with ADHD but without knowing it by name 😅

Pooh has ADHD, Eeyore has Depression etc
Most mental disorders that we know about today weren't known about back then or were hugely misunderstood. ADHD hadn't even been identified yet.
Wasn't Christopher Robin schizophrenic because he talked to stuffed animals or something?
I remember watching Winnie the Pooh all the time when I was young. My favorite episode was Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree because when he got stuck in Rabbit's place, there was a night-time visitor who showed and told him his midnight snack. When something with salmon was mentioned, Winnie was curious. Thats all I remember but if Rabbit let him have a bit of that... that meal would've given him sustenance. 🍣
I vaguely remember watching other characters eat things like vegetable stews and the kid kangaroo drinking milk to grow taller and I swear pooh also drank milk but I could be wrong since it was years ago
If i told any theory to my family they would just say “ugh, it’s a fictional story shut up”

Bears eating honey has historical precedence. The Norse hero Beowulf's name roughly translates from Old Northumbrian into Bee Hunter, which was a term for Bears. This name shows a connection between Bears and Honey as far back as 700-750 A.D./C.E. when Beowulf was first transcribed from oral tradition.
It was my understanding that bears were primarily after the protein-rich non-stingy bee larva.
@@mykl-anarche2201 you gotta remember this is thousands of years ago.... Humans didn't make that connection for the protein rich larva and just saw the bears eating the hunny
