so you could replace the bulb without having to remote the grille, whole headlight, etc.? If so, that would be awesome. A simple bulb swap shouldn't require as much effort as what's in the video.

Great video. Saved me some time getting to and locating that 10mm bolt under the driver side front wheel well. The small knife blade contact in the low beam headlight connector broke off when pulling off the old bulb. Some arching must have been occurring since that part of the connector seemed burnt. Instead of cutting and soldering a new connector on I just bought a new wiring harness for $45.00 locally and replaced it. I did notice there is a new updated design for the low beam headlight connector on this new wiring harness. Keeps the bulb from unsnapping thus illuminating the arching due to a loose connection. This has solved my driver side low beam headlight from intermittently functioning. Took me about two hours to complete this repair and just took my time. No mechanic experience. Going to replace the passenger side wiring harness when I get some time to ensure that low beam headlight connector is up to date as well. Sure beats paying $270.00 at a dealership for this type of repair. Price of labor these days will kill you.

Put it all back together thinking I was taking too many parts off, oh well, maybe next weekend. I appreciate the effort truly but I have to tell you I couldn’t find a single video including this one that said : Stick your hand in there and just twist the thing counter clockwise. Geez…it feels like you guys that make these videos are trying to discourage people from changing light bulbs so we pay a mechanic hundreds of dollars? I put it off for weeks, risked getting a ticket, or worse. Literally…stick your hand behind the wiper fluid dispenser, grab the assembly, twist it counterclockwise, lift the snap between the bulb and the wiring, replace the bulb, stick it back in and turn clockwise. Zero tools. Less than two minutes. In front of o’reilly’s. All alone. Mic drop.

I had to replace all the bulbs on my father in law's 2013 GMC Sierra 1500. This video was almost spot on. The other videos that tell you to remove the air filter or others that go up from the wheel well are a joke. We tried this last time and it might be ok for a single turn signal, but I my knuckles got so beat up it was not worth it.
The only difference on the GMC was that the bumper goes across the front and is basically attached to the front grill (I did not see an easy way to separate it). To remove it, you have to take out two 7mm bolts under the wheel well on each side holding the side of the bumper on, and then pull the bumper away from the sides until you get over to the grill and then it will come off with the front grill. Then you have full access to the housings as described in this awesome video. Putting the entire thing back on was a bit of a trick because there are four spots on top of the chrome bumper where the plastic bumper piece has to align just right when you are pushing it back towards the engine block. This was a bit tricky to make sure things lined up properly.
All in all, this video is much easier than other methods that are described both on CZcams and some bulb manufacture sites. Kudos to whomever did this video.

OK, the product was perfect! And Bonus! I got lamps in my units!
    Now, the "dislike" part.
You will need 5 different pliers to find the best one to fit you for the clips, those clips are a b!ch!
The wheel well bolts will cause some cussing, so make sure there are no children around and turn up the shop music!
Before you start tightening down the bolts, wiggle the fixture around to find the "sweet" spot, and turn the headlights on to see the difference against you garage/shop wall. Don't think that you'll tighten everything down and it'll be perfect. There's a lot of wiggle room in the mounting holes.
    I recommend you have;
    2 - 3 hours
    4 - 5 beers
    ~ 2 shots
a 10m socket with an extension and a universal (1/4") (for the wheelwell bolts)
loud music so the kids don't hear you cuss.
oh, and the 2010 has 6 clips on the grill, not 4.
This video was made to sell the product, not show us what we are getting into.
But, the product was nothing less than perfect! Well worth the money over the cheap ones.

I have a 2013 GMC 2500HD Sierra SLE and the grill appears to be secured with additional keepers or brackets at the bottom of the grill to the bumper assembly. Am I wrong on this? the clips come free, but it's still locked in at the bottom to a plastic 'valance'. Thanks.

  • @Harley_2023_richieg

Not sure on passenger side but on the driver side you can reach your hand in and twist the back of the bulb to the left. Then pull it from the socket, grab the new bulb, and put it back in the socket. Then turn the back of the bulb to the right and you're done. Took me approxitmately about 5 min...including removing new bulb from package.

    • @1AAuto

You might be able to get your hand in the back of the housing to remove them, with out taking the unit out. If there's not enough room, you may have to remove the assembly. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

You don't have to remove the headlight to replace the bulbs. You can reach in from behind and remove and install the light. It's not that difficult.
