Football clubs are over 100 years old and most have a traditional song from over the years , many reflect cultural and political traits of cities , generations of families have sung it for years , so when it's played everyone joins in . Most of these clips are before games start .
Strangely grounds have become quieter in the last twenty or thirty years as they have been forced into becoming all seated . Before capacities were larger as most people stood . Certainly the Premier League makes massive amounts of money , but not a lot filters down to the lower leagues . In Europe it's the major sport with the Spanish and Italian clubs probably the strongest financially .
I shed a tear when the hammers anthem came on. My grandad who raised me when my dad was an addict, died recently, and he was a die hard hammer. born in the hospital just down from the old stadium before they knocked it down, ive never cried more than singing forever blowing bubbles at the crematorium.RIP pops

The Liverpool one was when we was in tour in Australia great You'll Never Walk Alone. As a Liverpool fan I love that one. The flag when ya said "who's that guy" was of Bob Paisley our manager in late 70s to early 80s he won us lots of trophies too. Be a Liverpool fan girl you'll love it

These are club anthems rather than chants. Look up some videos on the Hillsborough disaster and you will understand why You'll Never Walk Alone means so much to Liverpool fans. Steven Gerrard who was the captain shown in this clip - his cousin was the youngest to die at Hillsborough, just 10 years old

Football stemmed from the working classes working in the mills for 6 days a week every week, over 150 years ago in England. It's in our very psyche and our very soul. No other sport puts you through the highs and lows like this beautiful game, it means absolutely everything

Good question about why fans raise their hands when singing. Don’t think there is much more to it other than showing some passion for the club. I’m a season ticket holder at West Ham
Crowds at big games were so packed on terraces it was often the only way you could clap. It wasn't unusual to end up yards away from where you started just with the jostling and movements of the crowds .
I believe the Liverpool one was when Liverpool went to Australia,so that's the Australian fans of the club
these chants weren’t for whole countries, these are all different clubs, for example “west ham” is a football club in london
The English premier league alone makes 2.3 billion a year before you start looking at the rest of Europe
Fun fact; Barcalona was named for the family of the Cathiginian General Hanible Barka. This man brought the Roman republic to it knees and won one of the most impresive victories in human history. Officers would study this man and his workin order to emulate his achivements.

The Nottingham Forest chants as they won promotion to premier league this year was incredible. Honestly their whole story last year was unbelievable. Apparently Nick Cage wants to play the Forest manager in a movie.

The English Premier league football clubs bring in the most money with the top clubs making just north of £500m but most don't make a profit! The income gets swallowed by wages and paying transfer fees.

The money is BIG at the top end of the game, but with relegation it can be snatched away. My club is Charlton Athletic FC and we are in South London, we are in the 3rd division, we haven't been in the top league for 15 years and it's a long way back, we have very little money and rely on season ticket sales to make it through the year

Quite a few teams that were in the Premier league at that time are also down in the 3rd, Portsmouth, Ipswich, Bolton, SHeffield wednesday, until recently Sunderland were also down here. Clubs that didn't handle Premier league relegation well at all can suddenly find themselves with away trips to Accrington and Morecambe

All these fans are supporters to their team, not their countries. Not one fanbase for a national team was shown in this video, just fans of different football clubs.

Hands in the air means nothing and the chants are well known. Also these were club teams rather than national fans. Club fans are far more passion about they’re clubs and some fans would die for them.
