    Awesome video! This is the first one I've found that gives an ENTIRE landing at a class D airport. All of the others just seem to show inbound, landing, switching to ground, and that's it. They don't show the communications with ground control, which is something that a new pilot like myself is not proficient at, since I got my license at a non-towered field.

    When would you have to talk to approach and also can you explain when and if you use center control flying vfr at a lower altitude?

    This is not an aviation question, but I watch lots of videos where ATC audio to other planes obscures the CFI. I’m wondering if a ‘ two track ‘ audio recorder could be used such that ATC and the CFI audio were on separate audio tracks. Then, when appropriate the ATC audio could be muted or reduced. . . . just an idea 🙂

    For "Where you are" I usually try to give altitude along with the distance. what are your thoughts on this?

    • @fly8ma.comflighttraining199
      @fly8ma.comflighttraining199  Před 6 lety +2

      Its a great thing to include, helps them to identify if your transponder agrees with what you are telling them for altitude. Just depends on frequency congestion and the specific circumstances, but I would say try to include it in your position report when possible.

  • @pauljameson1

    What was that alarm going through the mics on the transmissions of that other aircraft on frequency at the end of the video?

    • @fly8ma.comflighttraining199
      @fly8ma.comflighttraining199  Před 6 lety

      Just the bleed through of another guys strobe/beacon or some other electrical interference. It's common to hear than, and supper annoying when you are the one flying the airplane that is constantly making that noise on the radio!

    Instructor talks WAY TOO FAST.
    That type of fast talking would get on my nerves and slow my learning by the process of distraction.
    I can't possibly concentrate on what I'm doing when this guy sounds like a Marine drill instructor.
    Just watching this video, I can feel the poor girl's pressure. I bet she can't wait for this lesson to be over so she could get the hell out of there.
    If I had a teacher like this I'd switch instructors faster than he can say 786Echo.
    No criticism of the instructor's content, it's good stuff, it's just his delivery style .
    He should be in a talk-fast contest with about a dozen air traffic controllers.
    Too bad he can't speak slower and calmer to make the student feel relaxed, more receptive, and more confident.

    Verbal instructions, slow down, I have 9000 hours and I still like an instructor or controller to speak softly and slow down

      He politely chimed in clarifying their call sign, which time he smoothed in "warrior " after which she continued with "warrior"...
