800Pt MESBG Battle Report: The Army of Dale LL VS Isengard

- Eons have past since Sean last put dale on the tabletop. In that time he has been swayed by the dark side and started using seige weapons, even that of his most hated windlance. Now there are two of them.
will Aaron be able to convince Sean to stop his usage of these most disgusting of models, or will Sean continue down this dark path.

Damn 6 Uruks in the first shooting phase that is wild. Stunning armies too
Classic Dale shooting there mate.
-Sean
Scatter roll before “in the ways” Sean.
We caught him! 🦈
There will come a day when I scroll past a noobs and men video.... But it is not this day!
Should have our videos on a loop in your shop
-sean
Its really nice seeing 800 point battles from Noobs and Men. Thats the point value of tournament play in the US and its awesome seeing lists and how they play against each other. Nice job guys!
It's pretty standard for tournaments around here these days too that's why most our reports are done at either 600pts or 800 haha
-Liam
Fantastic painted Saruman, and blue dale cloaks with insane blends top quality Sean. Nice gameplay.
Thanks man, I put way to much effort in to them Dale boys hahaha
That 1st turn of shooting was incredibly brutal.
Yeah absolutely disgusting.
Even I was shocked
-sean
@@NoobsandMen also, random rules question with the windlance: does the seige veteran get the benefit of the dale army trait or not as he isn't a warrior of dale or a captain of dale?
That's a very good question.
I'll have to get back to you on that.
-Sean
Great game guy! Those Dale archers are really nasty hahaha. Keep up the good work mates
Fucken hate Dale bowmen
-Liam
Dale had a fantastic showing with match. That first turn of shooting and the left flank really decided the match imo.
Dale definitely had a cracker of a game.
That 1st turn of shooting without a doubt was the pebble that started the avalanche.
-Sean
More like a fucking boulder 😅
-liam
Such a fun game to play!! Dale are crazy good.
Dunno why I haven't played them in so long hahaha.
Cheers for coming on mate.
-sean
at 36:37 you're like " actually this one has might" , and then you conitniu with the other lance and say "and this one has might" xD
Haha yeah I just miss spoke.
Noticed that during the edit.
I was ment to say one of then didn't have might.
Luckily didn't need to use any hahaha.
-Sean
Dale shooting was on point! Except the windlances. They are a huge waste of points :0 They look sweet though :)
They are my most hated profile in the game, if they had piercing shot or were only 50pts or had volly fire suddenly maybe they are useful.
But this game 150pts did jack shit, I think they made like 40ish points back.
-Sean
Great stuff as ever, always love seeing Dale get a run up. Sean, how are you finding the two windlances? i'm off out in a bit so might grab one.
I'll be honest I hate the winlances with a passion and wouldn't waste your money on them. I will never just run one. Two gives them more usage but in all honesty I'd prefer another cpt and troops, which also increases the bow count, over the windlances. All they are is a S10 bow that rarely hits it's intended target dude to scatter, and if it does and they fate it well that was a waste and good luck doing that again in the game.
Maybe if they had a piercing shot I'd be more partial to them.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen cheers for that. I'll probably slow my roll and just grab one purely because the model is banging.
That's basically why I bought them, just to say I had them and we'll the model are gorgeous, especially the crew.
Bought 2 cause I knew one day I'd wanna test them out.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen yeah I get that. From a purely collecting standpoint I'm just happy the range has gotten some diversity.
Sean, your Daley dudes look really good on the table, man. You should be proud of them.
- just another Sean
Man I'm absolutely in love with them. Just take so long to paint them hahaha
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen I understand that. I'm still going back and adding more dwarves. Between back and other old guy nonsense, I just can't paint for long stretches of time. I'm ready to start on those MT guys. Should go much faster.
Keen as to see the MT lads mate, they should be a blast to paint.
I had heaps of fun painting mine, especially the blue horses.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen There might be some Sean Rossato tribute horses in there. Never can be sure.
@@briarsandbantams might make me cry
-sean
Nice game lads!
Was a lot of fun.
I always love getting Dale on the table. Sadly I haven't for a while so this inspired me to get them out again, for tournaments and such
-Sean
Those horus dice 6s are worse than the fangorn dice
Both sets of dice are just outrageous
-Sean
As a casual lothlorien dice enjoyer, i agree with this comment.
Herasy dice are worse
-Liam
Out of interest, as a fairly new player it felt like a kinda forgone conclusion after that incredible first round of shooting. Would you mind having a stab at with what you think needed to happen for an isengaurd win? Can see myself being on the receiving end of heavy shooting at some point and it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. Does it boil down to 'buckle up, go for it and hope to get a bit lucky in combat' or do you think there was more that could have been done in that game? ty for the batrep, good fun to watch :)
sweet paintjob on ze dale btw!
In all honesty mate the game was by no means near over after the shooting.
In fact if Aaron got lucky with his shooting near the end I would have lost the game.
His tactic was to bum rush the objectives and then die in hopes the game ends and he's on more objectives.
That's a solid strategy as he knew he didn't have a chance to face my shooting.
Being a dice game there are also elements of luck that need to fall in your favor, but my biggest tip mate is always play for the objectives, many ppl get caught up with killing things and push the objectives of the scenarios to the wayside till it's to late.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen Good advice and duly noted ^^ Cheers!!!
So...two windlances, got to shot ll game... Shaved of about 40points value plus 1 might and two fate... Good trade for 150p...*grins*
Bloody useless things, I've hated them since their release all those years ago. Only bought these to say I have them.
They never get their points backs, they are a S10 bow that rarely hits it's intended target.
It needs pricing shot or volly fire to be somewhat worth it.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen yeah, I've used it with girion in the past (which is probably even worse since it cannot be moved) but it's highly ineffective... But it got nice things *sarcasm*... Shot across all table... Scatter less distance... But it's still a scatter, so you almost never going to hit the target... Opponent don't really have to place differently when facing it... Thousands in the ways... I think I rather would want it to be a bloody bow than a siege... So atleast I don't have to scatter... Compare it to the rest of its friends and one really understand why smaug didn't have any issues... Truelly the weakest siege and cost ineffective...in a good army.
If the wind lances in their current state should be no more than 50pts.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen a captain is more useful, so I think your statement is fair. 😁
Best captains in the game.
-sean
Sean, on a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you for the Dale dice? And how many are you buying?!
Ohhh mate I'm absolutely buzzing for Dale dice, it's off the scale, I screamed when I saw them, tempted to get the symbol tattooed on me.
Definitely buying one but I can see myself buying a 2nd.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen I thought of you immediately when I saw them, I don't even play Dale, but they are too nice to not have. Is that true for all the middle earth dice anyway... They are proper plastic crack
Is the windlance good?
Would running 2 with thror be a good alt?
The windlances is utter trash.
I'd only ever run it if you wanna run it cause it looks cool.
If you want your force to be competitive never run it.
For as many as you have you will basically be playing that many points down
-Sean
hello what is the mark to your dunland army? Frostgrave ? oathmark ? thank you
Pretty sure they are frostgrave.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen thank you , i hésitated to buy a vikings to victrix for m'y dundenlin. The size of this villager IS a same size to thé another mesbg human ? Thank you
Victrix are very very similar in scale, the only thing is the little base thing the come on makes them a little taller but that could be removed if it bothers you. My Dunland are all from victrix
-Liam
@@NoobsandMen and for the another head for the guys of dale, is a head to frostgrave, victrix ? grettings and happy christmas to you familly and a people of this fellowship :)
Those dice are so bent 🤣
Absolutely hectic stuff aye
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen Yeah man, beautiful paint job too, are their any close up photos lurking somewhere?
Yeah mate over on my Instagram you will find them

Hi i'm noob, why wasn't grima deployed with an enemy hero?
He doesn't need to be and 90% of the time it is more beneficial to keep him with your army.
When I face a grima that has been placed in my army I just trap him with 3/4 models so he gets stuck at the back of the table.
-Sean
@@NoobsandMen I see, thank you! Do you think getting him a mount is worth?
Personally I don't think so as with isengard your battle line is all foot troops and that's where he wants to be to stop heros from using might.
There definitely are time him on horse would be good but not enough to be worth it
-Sean
I cannot believe you used a clip from the FUCKING avatar the last airbender MOVIE the worst movie fucking ever. I do fucking love that Aaron's got Aang haha
It was a deliberate choice to get a comment like this hahahaha
