I think there's two things to take from this (I'm in before the lines meet).
If you take a bolt thrower, you take swift reload.
If you talk one bolt thrower, you take two. If you take two...etc etc.
That's some nasty stuff in a scenario where they have to come to you.
upgrade the siege vets to captains and just take all bolt throwers my dude

Top notch content Do enjoy the different perspective running mass Citadel Guard bows over Rangers with spears backline which is what I normally take.
I do rate the ranger build.
It is super hard to look past the S3 bows, body guard and potential f5.
Especially when I have a bunch of spears in my army already.
It's Mainly the body guard tho.

Great and funny BR :-) One question: what do you recommend to proxy the MT Bolt Thrower? The official mini is not available anymore. Maybe the Age of Sigmar Celestar Ballista?

I've seen one made of sprue plastic and green stuff. If painted well it can look alright.
A quick question about the bomb. You attempt to detonate it at the start of the fight phase but if Sean called a heroic combat would that go off before the bomb? Which would potentially allow him to get out of town
No cause the bomb attempt happens at the start of the fight phase before anything else.

The way you struggled to keep track of what your're rolling for with the Bolt Thrower was something. You still ended up skipping over your to-hit rolls on Saruman (the first would've hit the horse instead of Saruman without wounding and the other two would've missed) ;P
Nevertheless really cool game. Not too convinced by Jacob's choice to take the troll at 1000 where there's bound to be lots of stuff ready to take it on.
The whole bloody game was a struggle.
We had played about 3 games before this one, we were just exhausted mainly tho I wanted to die.
I dunno man, in the hands of a great player like Jacob a troll at 1000pts backed up by saruman can deal damage. Tho I know for a fact the troll is a decoy for the bomb.
Get the troll in to a big hero or 2 or 3 and then send the bomb and blow them all to hell.

Didn’t Saruman’s horse get killed the turn prior by the Bolt Thrower? Was surprised to see him in combat, knocking guys prone, and rolling doubles strikes.
From memory there was a mistake in my shooting with the bolt thrower, allowing sarumans horse to stay alive.

It's partially the psychological effect it has on your opponent.
Boz is seen as a massive threat when on horse back and is thus Targeted early from bow fire, this will usually kill the horse anyway so he's basically a foot troop and your down 10pts, give me an extra model plz. Your opponent will also save might to deal with him, we want that might drained by heroic moves, strikes, combats and so on.
When boz is off his horse sitting behind his lines your opponent doesn't see him as a major priority, especially if you don't keep throwing him into combat. They will also be alot more liberal with their might usage.
90% of my games with him, he sits behind my line buffing the troops. My other hero's drain might where possible, I always have a lot of strikers, this is a great way of draining might, I also call heroic moves in hope my opponent will counter.
If my opponent finally breaks through my lines with their big hero, now it has to face a F7 boz who has used maybe 2 might all game.
He's also great for making spell casters waste Will transfixing him whilst I have no intention of him doing much, as I'm focusing on my troops and my smaller heroes.
Boz isn't a killing machine, he is a hand grenade, throw him at a hero or a monster with a bunch of support and he will kill anything.
Boz is a late game hero, none can deal with a F7 Boz, with a bunch of might during the late game.

i know im very late to this one, but isn't rapid reload on two bolt throwers just ten points off the cost of another one? you could drop those and one citadel guard for three bolt throwers. pushes your average shot count from 9.5 to 10.5 so an extra shot but with extra might and an extra model to your total army size. rapid is absolutely worth it on one thrower, but on two i reckon you're better just getting another avenger
I don't own a 3rd bolt thrower, that's why I didn't do that 🤣🤣

I’ve always been on the fence with swift reload on multiple bolt throwers. It’s 10pts more for no swift reload and just taking a 3rd.
Nah swift reload every day of the week. You're going from 4 opportunities for a 6 down to 3 and even then you're more likely to be rolling worse amounts of shots. Off two dice you have a 30% change of a six, opposed to 16 with one dice

hope u guys agree! with "functional" i mean more verity cause there are like "fewer" options in lower points. some of the heroes/models are too expensive points wise in lower point games. Me and my friends always play like team games like 2v2 each have 1k points so 2k vs 2k
@@NoobsandMen yup. i know the feeling we also play team games Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition. Everyone has 2,7k 3 vs 3 and it takes like 6-12h. And after that your brain is veeeery exachausted. Ofc we have a quick lunch break for like 30 min. but its a lot of fun! but anyways love the content! Defintley Top-3 mesgb content on youtube, so keep up with the good work!
35:30 you could not have hit the warg as your guys were on the floor because of the previous turn and Jacob had priority , so your guys would still be laying on the floor and thus not be able to strike blows

Personally I believe the game is at its best around 600pts. I absolutely love the game so enjoy playing all pts lvls, even 1000pts.
We recently played 5, 1000pt games over 2 days and it was bloody brilliant.
I will say tho if your playing 1000pts, you need a timer, cause the game will turn into a slog with no timer.
I'd recommend 2:30-3hr

Guys...PLEASE cut the swearing. I watch this with my 10yo son, who plays MESBG. The odd shit...ok, but stop the F bombs please! Id really like to be able to watch this with him :(
I apologise mate but we won't be cutting the swearing. This is who we are as ppl We don't swear for the sake of swearing it's just part of our vernacular and vocab whilst growing up.
Im just grateful i grew up understanding words like shit, the Fword, the Cword, ect can't hurt me. In fact many of those words are ways we emphasize our happiness, excitement, sadness and use them as words of endearment.
Once again i do apologise if this has caused you and your son any distress but we don't intend on changing our personalities.
There are plenty of other amazing channels for you and your son to watch and we highly recommend W.A.R.G, conquest creations and reaper squadron gaming.

@@NoobsandMen I'm not prudish about the swearing guys, I'm from the UK and love a good swear but it's F bombs galore not just the odd one! That's fine, but makes it a bit difficult to to watch which is a shame. It's worth thinking that this might limit the number of views and also it would be handy to perhaps just update the description to note it includes quite a lot of swearing? Cheers D
You might be right mate but honestly we're just here for fun, not really in it for the views and stuff, it's more of a bonus. Plus we're well exceeding any expectations we had when we first started this channel so it's really not a priority for us. If we had to keep constantly self censoring ourselves it just wouldn't be as fun or genuine anymore.
I totally understand if that's too much for you or your son, but it's just not something we're going to change. The videos are always marked not for kids and our main audience is well over 18+. Like Sean said, Warg, conquest, reapers, are all stellar channels that definitely focus more on keeping their videos more PG than us if you're looking for MESBG content to watch with your son.
We still do genuinely hope you stick around despite this.
