- We have a super competitive game here. Sean and I are playing out Arda Unleashed armies (One of the biggest tournaments in Australia) with a few extra points added on. We trust our lists we trust our strategy watch to see who comes out on top!

My local community is getting into this game and adding to the old guards who have been keeping this game going. Its always really well regarded when i see it played and your videos have been super helpful as Im doing my research, especially your faction breakdown. I would love to see an updated legendary legions review video to help me with my first faction decision. Keep up the good work.
a legendary legion video would be a great idea. I am holding out on it now because I am hoping that a few new ones are on there way!
For me as a newbie in the game the report was extremely useful to understand the rules. I wish all let’s plays on CZcams were like yours. Well done, guys!
Really enjoyed the game. The captions were very helpfull and the players comments between rounds were so interesting. Love to see more of these style shows.
Love the added rules info in the edit. I’ve not been playing long but Minis Tirith and iron hills are just so strong and hard to kill it seems like they’re super competitive

Remember to use Sharkus special rule, maybe could've gotten a kill at around 25:10. He gets a free Strength 4 strike whenever a failed strike is made against him! Great batrep regardless, love the cutaway interviews too! No other MESBG channel I've seen is doing that, sets you apart from the pack in a good way :)
Sharku's rule only works against other hero models, It is super easy to forget about though! Thanks for the positive feed back. I am planning on making a heap more battle reports as soon as our lock downs end!

From my Experience Halls of Thranduil is the most competitive. 100% Bows is strong. Tauriel and Thranduil are still way undercosted for what they do. The Elven Cav are still really cheap for how strong they are. And Palace guard with Thranduil are the one of the best infantry in the game. F6, Str5, Defence 6, Auto passing Courage, Terror 6" with the circlet of Kings. All for 13 points a piece. These will mincemeat even elves. Also the allies options are really solid, Dwalin on goat is super strong, Gandalf with Laketown brings magic, and support, and raises numbers. Overall just a really solid army.
Gotta love thranduils halls! I take iron hills and thranduils halls all the time!

Fantastic battle report thank you so much. Keep in mind tho, that banner can only be used BEFORE might. The dale army player in at least a couple of occasions used the banner after Isengard had mighted to win the fight. In both cases the banner was not enough so no big deal

Very well constructed battle report. Great job. Love the cut away explanations of tactics and the steady camera work. Really liked the shots of movement too. The movement phase is super important in this game so it's great to see it in a batrep. You guys are becoming my favorite SBG channel 👍

I think Angmar is the most competitive from what I've seen.
I think its hard to look past Angmar. I haven't used it myself but have played against it a lot and I think its either on the top of my list or very close to the top

I'm absolutely in love with my Dale army they rarely let me down. (Those bows!!!!!).
In Mesbg the most competitive army is definitely the one you enjoy playing the most.

Personally my most competitive faction is Moria. They have got heaps of good things going for them. Cheap troops, good middle range heroes, and heaps of synergies like Groblog potentially getting prowlers to fight 5, and cave trolls with bat swarms being a higher fight than anything in the game
I was always frustrated with Moria until I got the Balrog and made a Warg Marauder
Yeah man I love the Balrog! I haven't made any marauders yet but they are on my list
Also as for your “tactical blunder spell” - transfix on a 4+, but Saruman has sorcerous blast for 4+ too that would have knocked prone (so basically transfixed) and a cheeky sound opportunity ;) wouldn’t normally point it out - but you did ask :)
Exactly! Thorin had no might so he couldn't strike anyway so sorcerous blast would have knocked him prone and the troll could have doubled its strikes
Not to mention the angle of the cast could have flung him into two Dale guys simultaneously...

I think the game is actually in a good place with many armies that could be all viable in a competitive setting. For me personally I like mordor lots of cheap casters backed up by a hard hitting hero like shagrat also good selection of troops and shelob is for me point for point one of the best units in the game. Prove me wrong 🕷
I agree that every army list could be used to win a tournament!
I have to agree with Shelob. A lot of people get turned off by the one attack and I have seen people say she isn't worth it. But once you've played against her and have seen what she can do it's undeniable how good she is

Yeah absolutley! What would you prefer to see, a show case of each individual army with a full tactics break down and list writing, or one video overview of my collection just looking at the models without the tactics?

I like my iron hills and thranduils halls lists, both have good strong heroes! Use the dwarves for the shield wall and palace guard for spear support, theres a lot they can take on and hold up against! Only problem with them is they eat up your points for giving you a low model count
Iron Hills are crazy good, I hate going up against them because they just never die!
I don't think it's the most competitive list, but I gravitate towards Isengard most of the time (always with Saruman).
I really like Isengard! They can definitely be super strong! I definitely recommend a demolition charge

Even if saruman was behind those crates on horseback, there should still be an in the way from the crates even if its covering the model even by the smallest amount as far as im aware.
There was probably a case for him getting an in the way there, but it goes to show that even in competitive games mistakes are made
I'm not sure how supported this is for the numbers but everyone talks about Faramir's legion and Rangers are super overpowered in the 300-450 range. Well if you built a Dol Amroth army at that points level focused on maxing out numbers of archers with Duinhir that's a pretty lethal shooting group and a good pike block. I ran no Imrahil for a while and Forming is super under-rated on horse.
So my proposal?
Furlong on Horse, Duinhir, a pike block and Rangers.
You maximize Duinhirs heroic shoots for the re-rolls and keep your shooting base still. You get 2 turns of rerolling 1's to hit and re-rolling all wounds. You can deal crazy damage with that and then you still get a nice mounted hero in Forlong and a good pike block
I agree that at low points rangers are really good but can get hard countered by a few things like Iron hills, or blinding light and they aren't that mobile.
I like your low point list for Fiefdoms! I'm keen to hear about how it goes
@@ConquestCreations I've found Madril to be the golden bullet in the rangers. 55 points for 3 heroic marches is pretty sexy-- and with two new heroes coming they're about to get a whole lot sexier

I stand by Rohan - mounted royal guard avoids low courage low def issues and hero’s to wreck stuff :)
I have to say that I really like the rules explanations showing up during the game at the bottom, so it doesn't distract from the flow of the game. Still trying to be constructive, I'm not sure why, but the face-to-camera confessions(?) that explain what's going on seem a bit off. Not sure why? Might be how it interrupts the flow? I'm not really sure. Overall these BR are still very good!

Just bought loads of second hand units for Isengard off eBay, I’m now going back on there to look for a bomb squad after seeing this hahah that shit seems funny as fuck

When saruman was shot at behind the boxes, should there not have been a in the way test on the boxes? Line of sight is 3D but in the way tests are done 2D?
On the board the road is a bit elevated which put him out of cover. I just looked back at it and there probably was an argument for In the ways but from models eye view it wasn't as clear. Thanks for the comment!
Can’t really go past Theoden’s Riders for my top. Although realistically Rivendell Knights are stupid good.
I agree that they are both good. I don't have them as a top tier list because there are some things that super hard counter them like panic steed and siege weapons that knock you over. Also I hate playing against Rivendell knights hahah
23:32 Newbie here, so just doing a quick rule check. Thorin wounded the Uruk Captain the turn prior. Then during this turn Sean rolled his first round, and got a wound. Doesn’t that kill the Captain? Or does he have 3 wounds?
Sean rolls again and kills him anyways, but was wondering if the wound the prior turn was missed.
Question in regards on grima: why didn't you deploy him with thor or thorin making it impossible for him to strike at him and it would have made it impossible for thorin to withstand the compell of Saruman potentially killing thorin with the bomb to.
I just think that deploying grima as part of the enemy with his rule is just so strong and should be the way too go in nearly every battle I think.
Jacob very well could have done that
But I would have happily sacrificed 3 of my warrior of Dale to make sure Grima was trapped where he started and thus wouldn't have had any effect on the game.
Jacob played it right keeping grima on his side and as you can see in a few parts he sapped might from my Captains and others when I really couldn't afford to loss all my might but had to
Yeah exactly what Sean said. If Grima is deployed with the enemy what people do is just surround him with a few of their models so he sits at the back of the board all game :)

Building isengard now myself. How many points are tournaments army's normally?
Tournaments can range from 300 points to 1000 points. I would recomend making a 750 point list because that is the most common tournament size and if there are any events smaller then you can just drop a few units
