The Enzoni is a cross between a Negroni and a Gin Sour where the sweet vermouth comes in the form of muddled green grapes. An ideal drink to introduce a novice to Campari!
First created by Vincenzo Errico whilst tending bar at Milk & Honey, NYC. Vincenzo was trained by the legendary Dick Bradsell (creator of the Espresso Martini).

I laughed when you tossed the garnish over your shoulder
There was no way it was going to balance on the ice cube... I should have skewered them!
@@StevetheBartender_ You know, you could have EATEN the grape.
HOnestly I think we all did
Grizz Axxemann I think he panicked XD
@@StevetheBartender_ Made great content.
Dash of cherry bitters in with the grapes takes this to the next level.
Hey folks! After months since I made dozens of Enzonis since I learned this recipe here, I had a idea and decided to try a variant using fresh cherries (not the canned ones!), instead of grapes. I removed the stems and seeds from 5 charries and muddled them same recipe. I think it turned out nice!
Maybe add a barspoon or two of maraschino liqueur too? that could be lovely
O-K.
What type of cherry? I'm looking at my neighbors montmorency (red sour for processing) tree out my window. Here in MI, by next week it'll be ready for harvest!
@@fonz-ys6xuI have the same question. I have that same cherry tree in my yard.
Honestly though, when he turns and gives the side smile while shaking the drink it sends shivers down my spine. So handsome.
The Enzoni is one my favorites!
Yeah, mine too now! Saw it on your channel aggggges ago and it’s been on my list for a while..
How is the taste like
@@abhisheklimbu9881 bitter
@@GavinSideways bitter-ish i would say... it's bitter, sweet and sour at the same time, it's delicious!
I might have used way too sweet grapes as mine was a tad too sweet for my taste (and I have a sweet tooth!). I used Gordon's. I even used "American" yellow lemons (and not what we Peruvians call lemons, which you call limes). I'll make another one without the syrup.
I made a few of these, and they were delicious. Then, I got to thinking about some Grenadine I had. I substituted Grenadine for the simple syrup, and now it's my favorite incarnation. I call it the Grenzoni. Wifey commented on how dangerously drinkable it was. :)
Love how happy he gets even as he mentions shaking
The genuine reaction is always a plus.
That's one of the reasons I like to try drinks on the channel rather than make it and tweak it... then film it :)
I love the way he throw the grapes 😂😂😂😂
😬🎉
I'm delighted to see your channel grow. It was heavily underappreciated.
Steve, I'm sure I speak for many when I say one of my favorite parts of your videos is when you are shaking the cocktail, smile, then look at the camera smiling. Sadly you haven't been doing this lately. I love the rest of your videos too, but I always look for the shaking smile and haven't been seeing it
I think making cocktails is slowly becoming my new hobby thanks to you. Love your tutorials!
Another great video, your channel has a simplicity and overall joy that pulls you in. Keep up the good content man , you're great
I just happened to have all of the ingredients for this one so I made it right away. LOVE IT! I'm a huge Negroni and Campari fan so this was in my zone. Thanks Steve!
Adds grapes to the grocery list. Going to be making this during the week, thank you!
You'll love it!!
I always smile when he smiles 😊 Nice Video once again
Loving trying these drinks mate.
And genuinely, what a smile this lad has.
Love this cocktail! It is a very refreshing drink. Thanks for making.
Outstanding drink!
Glad you made this! I was looking for more recopies that used Campari
I don't even make cocktails at home. It is kind of relaxing seeing you do the thing you do man! keep doing what you enjoy!
Perfect drink , thanks Steve 👍👍
Thanks for taking a sip and describing the flavor and balances of ingredients! Helps me out to deciding to make the same!
Love it. Will try. Cheers.
I can't wait to try this!
Tried this for the first time today. Rocked straight into my top 3 cocktails!
Just made one. This thing is delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
Always smile for the camera! This is your thing!
My new favorite cocktail! Love Campari 💚
He’s always fun to watch, but did he appear to be a different type of fun today?!? Have a few drinks before this one?
haha came here to say the same thing. I agree with you. Steve?
I was thinking that too
Amazing cocktail! Thanks
Been making this ever since - it's my favourite and it's sooo good
Tastes amazing!
It is fun to watch you shake the drink and then suddenly turning to the camera and smiling ... it is priceless :D
Can't wait to try this one!
i need to try that! looks delicious!
Drinking the cocktail now! Delicious!
Familiar cocktail recipe, I like it. Thank you Steve.
Great recipe from Vincenzo D’Errico!!
Looking good!
This sounds delicious. Going to try it. Thank you and keep them coming. Saluté
Have to try this out tomorrow!
This is an awesome drink. Thank you
Love it. The combination of sweet and bitter ist amazing.
Just made this for the first time, really tasty and a great drink for warmer weather, refreshing. 👍🏼
Great cocktail!!!! Just love it !!!
This drink is awesome, thanks! I also tried with red grapes and Aperol instead of Campari and this worked really well too, super refreshing.
Steve that is brilliant....you sir are the man!!!
Love this. Made one with homegrown pomegranate and sudachi instead of grapes and lemon, and it was also lovely.
My absolute favorite this summer, I make it with vineyard peach. works really good as well!
Made this tonight, finished it quickly, and had to make another immediately! Best Campari cocktail I’ve had by a wide margin. Campari is growing on me, but I’m not a huge fan of vermouth, so this is perfect.
Looks delicious 😋 thank you for another use for my Campari .
I just love this cocktail!!! It’s become one of my regular favorite!!! Thank you Steve!
Such a great way to easy people into Campari! I know Steve said it, but I've always recommended it.
Sounds awesome 👌🏻
Another great cocktail, another great smile :D
Awesome my man.. live how you break down the Mls to the Ounces .. thank you for that!! Keep em coming
Just made this and yup, my new fav cocktail. Gonna try the fall enzoni next. Thanks for the video, Steve.
Just made it and tasted it along side your review. Spot on. Bitterness is there, but not front and center. Very well balanced.
Really delicious. i love this cocktail 😎
I made one the other night and it is SO badass!!! Thanks for the video.
Ohhh I like this cocktail! I am going to try one this week! Thanks!
It’s a winner!!
I will try this cocktail for sure!
This drink is AMAZING!
So good hey!!
I just found my new favorite channel!!!
Bought a muddler and fine strainer to make this drink. Had one almost every night for the last week. It is my new favorite summer drink. Thanks man!
Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
This look delicious 😋
I just tried this. It's amazing.
Made it this evening. So good!
Delicious isn’t it! 👍
sipping one right now -- really good!
Made three of these tonight. Tried 4, 5, and 6 grapes. 6 was the winner in my opinion! Incredible drink
Since I last commented your channel has blown up. Mate I'm so happy for you!!
Kinda' bizarre how the grape and Campari come together so well. Perfect balance on this one. Thanks!
I love the "Ooo" when you tasted it. It must be delicious. Thanks for another great video. Also, you can never smile to much 😁
Fabulous! I needed another drink using Campari. I have green grapes in the kitchen, so this may come up soon. Cheers!
This is one of my all time favorites as well!
If you like this one, you should also try Sam Ross' cocktail the 'Too Soon?' which is the same template, but with Cynar and orange slices instead of Campari and grapes:
Too Soon?
1 oz Gin
1 oz Cynar
3/4 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 thin orange slices
Add orange slices to tin, add all other ingredients, add ice, shake & strain.
I love them both, and think it's a great template for amaro-based sours. It makes sense really that the best way to get a Negroni-like experience from a sour is to split the base-spirit with your amaro, since a Negroni is just a split-base version of a Martini/Manhattan template when you get down to it (as pointed out in the Death & Co. book the 'Cocktail Codex').
Legend! Thanks for the recipe - definitely keen to try this one soon 👌
Great suggestion! Made this one tonight and it was delicious 👍
Only had Cynar 70 but could tell that regular Cynar would have been better...less bite and more of the vegital flavor would come through
I really love this cocktail. I also love a Negroni. It's nice to have so much variation for the sake of complimentary cocktails. This is a bright version of a dark drink. I enjoy it with any grapes I have on hand; my wife buys them sometimes, so I always make a few while they're there. Always have the other ingredients at the ready.
On another note, I believe I've adopted some of your techniques as far as building and shaking. I like the little flip and shake. That's about as much flair as I'm comfortable with, and that's pushing it.
Thank you for your awesome videos.
GOD!!!
Made this cocktail today 🤗🤗🤗
So delicious and refreshing 😝
Great drink
Muito bom! Fiz e provei, ficou uma delícia! Parabéns!
Made this tonight.. and ended up making it quite a few times.. now I need some more Campari!
Looks good. I have to try it asap
I'm going to be trying this one
This is a delicious cocktail.
It’s 38 degrees here today and I just made it.
It’s like a summertime negroni. An instant fav!
Just tried. Excellent.
Just made one, our new baby is called Enzo so very fitting! Thanks buddy! ❤
I was literally thinking the same thing before you said it “why is he looking so angry in this video?” 🤣🤣 glad she called you out on it 😜
I really liked this one. Yesterday I couldn't find grapes and I tried same recipe but with blue berries. Excellent!
Nice one! I think grapes elevate the drink although blueberries would still work nicely 👌
@@StevetheBartender_ I was out of grapes so I tried strawberries indeed. Here in northern Europe we have sweetest and best berries anyway😉. It turned out very very good!
Beautiful colour Steve need to deffo give it ago
Hope you enjoy this one!
I love this one man. My favorite new hot weather cocktail. I used lime juice instead and I love it.
Awesome vid again Steve I'm Just building my reserve I have around 8 bottles at the moment be it is increasing every week. Really love your Midori video too. I have a variation of the midori Illusion where I use a fresh passion fruit and a dash of blue bols.
Had some fresh grapes so I decided to make this. It really is a great drink
Just made this following your recipe to the letter. It’s so refreshingly delicious! Somehow the muddled grapes combine with the Campari and lemon juice to make it almost taste like grapefruit! Thanks for sharing. I think I found my summer drink!!
I’m glad you loved it too! Grapes work remarkably well 👌
This guy is so cool man, wish I had a friend like him 🤜🏼🤛🏼
This drink is so much fun, I think I've tried it with every type of grape I can get my hands on. My favorite is a combination of red, cotton-candy, and moscato grapes.
Just took a look after a buddy recommended your channel. Damn...you're good! (So are the cocktails). Don't stop! And I love Negroni's
That one grew on me with every sip - ended up tasting much like pink grapefruit juice at the end. Very nice.
Excellent; my wife and I both give a big thumbs up. And for those who aren’t in love with Campari, give this a try.
Drinking one of these right now, just a little lighter on the campari. Still easing into campari, it grows on me 😁 keep it up Steve, you really make the best bar tending videos 😁
I rushed out to the store to buy some grapes to try this delicious sounding recipe. I then had far too many grapes in my fridge...I'm on enzoni #4 this week!
Can't wait to try it this weekend! Last weekend was Paper Plane, also a new favorite! :-)
