High Speed Sync is a super cool feature of the Godox AD200 and many other flashes. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to set up and use this flash feature!
I dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my account password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Leo Louie thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Huge help! Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much I had to pause and replay as it went a little fast…..still trying to figure out my not so new Godox system!
I was shooting a couple in the rain last night and couldn't remember how to set up for hss (bloody year off thanks to covid) so now I'm having to remind myself how to do basic stuff again. Thanks for the video.
Hi Mike. Thanks for the video... please can you explain why you chose the ISO 640, given that you would have had enough power to light your dog and using HSS?.. what you have changed if you had used a lower ISO??
Why do I still get that black bar even in high speed sync? It's driving me nuts for like an hour I've been trying to figure out what the issue is. At 1/250 I get a black line even though I can see high speed sync is on my receiver and my ad200 has the high speed sync symbol activated but still I can't shoot above 1/200
I'm using a different trigger so I set HSS on the AD200 itself and it doesn't work with my Canon R. I'll have to mess with it more...maybe it's in the Canon menu too.
Hi Thanks for the video and one question to ask, you did set the trigger in HSS mode but how about the AD200, would it need to call up the HSS in flash, or the trigger remotely set it up instead.
I have the Godox xpro - not sure if this is normal, but when I turn it on and I'm adjusting my shutter, I don't see any changes to my exposure. Anything faster than 1-second, like 1/30th or 1/100th, I see no exposure difference in my camera. I have to turn the device off to see my exposure. Is this normal or is something wrong? Not really a high-speed sync thing, but just seeing my exposure through my camera
Hi, it seems that for me HSS works correctly only when I have my Godox Ad200 at full power, otherwise I get a black bar on the top part of the picture. Do you have any ideas about what I may be doing wrong or on how I can use HSS with my speed light at less than full power? I use a Nikon Z7ii and a Godox trigger. Thanks for your help!
I really struggle with combining available daylight with flash/strobe. Often I only want to use the flash as a bit of fill light to the existing window light. But as soon as I introduve the flash I find it often creates a more fake looking light. This is especially a challenge if I need people in the image and therefore can't lower the shutter speed too much. Anyone with great advice to this change? Thanks a lot in advance 🌱
You probably need a colour correction gel on the flash. If I use the AD200 with the flash head and not the bulb head, there's a blue tinted light coming from the flash.
Can you please help me set up my Godox V1 and AD200 with the X Pro transmitter? I just bought the AD200 and I'm not which needs to be the slave but I imagine it needs to be the V1..or does it even matter?
same is happening to me with the same camera. The camera settings is in 1/250 (auto fp) and the flash trigger is in HSS, the flash work but not the HSS. I tried another godox trigger (R2) and it works. it looks the issue is with the xpro
moving from 1/500 to 1/1600 bring down ambient exposure but doesn't actually effect exposure: in the second picture the light you see in the background is ACTUALLY from the flash source. Your ambient is ALREADY underexposed in the first picture. And I don't get the third picture... why didn't you bring up flash power?
Finally, a video showing how to exactly set up HSS in the transmitter and in Godox AD200 Pro. Thanks Mike for this video.

@Leo Louie It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
@Bowen Devin you are welcome :)
OK, I have been struggling to find a clear explanation on how to use much faster shutter speed with my ad200. Now I get it. Thank you so much!
Omg, finally a quick and spot on video of exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!!!
Huge help! Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much

Hey I have a suggesting cause I’ve been looking for this video as well..” setting up High speed sync with xpro trigger and ad200

I use Godox v1 with x2t trigger. But the HSS only works on iTTL. How do i make it work on manual mode
I just bought at ad600 pro and I still can’t get the shutter to go over 160 using the godox x2ts remote

Sk400 too with 1/8000
I;m doing this to my toddler giving cookies for treats haha
I keep getting black bars but I followed the instructions
Super
I have a Nikon D610. Is HSS possible with this camera? I feel like I have all the settings like you said but I still can't shoot over 1/250.
Did you put your flash in HSS and have the correct trigger?
same is happening to me with the same camera. The camera settings is in 1/250 (auto fp) and the flash trigger is in HSS, the flash work but not the HSS. I tried another godox trigger (R2) and it works. it looks the issue is with the xpro

It wont work.... already tried on my 6D
