      And this is why we remember star ratings have never been any true form of measurement in quality but simply the opinion of the person giving such rating. And as long as we all remember that we can write it off as it has always been - no more than one solitary opinion of a match based on that persons individual preference of what they enjoy seeing.

    Booker T coming in and having that sick match with The Rock, in the WWE style, really probably helped his stock. He just came in and adapted. Very similar to AJ Styles. He came in, had a solid feud with Jericho, lost at Mania, dropped a couple matches with Reigns, didn't complain and looked like he fit naturally, and Vince immediately knew AJ was a guy he could count on

      Still a bit surprising how successful Books run turned out just because of how bad things started for him. His first ever move in the WWF injures Stone Cold of all people. His first match is the debacle against Buff that stopped the possible brand relaunch. Tough way to begin but thankfully they stuck with him to let him display his talent and he had a great run in the end. Could’ve easily been slashed with how things began for him.

If you ask me, giving it a 3 star rating is a crime. It’s a 4 to 5 star match all day just based off the story, the winner, and of course the work they did and the spots they had in the match. But again, that’s just my opinion.

    This was and still is the best Chamber match of all time in my opinion. And I much prefer the original design, even if it contributed to the injury to Triple H's throat... Scary...
    Even so, I hated that Shawn won; I feel like this was supposed to be RVD's ascension to World Heavyweight Champion. He utilized the chamber best and in ways that most people still haven't been able to replicate. This match was essentially a place to show just how extreme the participants could take things and Van Dam was the most extreme person in not only this match but the whole company.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv Před rokem

      It was never going to Rob. It was lucky to even change hands. As we saw it was full steam ahead for Triple H at the time. The Shawn change was only for the shock and because he was somebody you could pull it off of right away without it being a big deal and stick with your long term plan. The events that followed show that to be the case. From the time they gave Triple H the belt until he lost it at WM 20 he was champ for 447 of the 559 days. If you extend it to the following WM where he lost to Batista and the title transitioned away from him for a period of time as they put the efforts behind Cena and Batista he had the belt for 616 of the 910 days that someone held the belt. Anybody who would’ve won the belt besides Triple H was going to lose it right back to him just like Shawn did because the plan was always long term for Triple H at the time. So the reality is you consider was it better for Shawn to win it and have the nostalgic surprise of it happening when most anybody doubted that happening and then lose it at the next PPV, something that doesn’t hurt him at all because his status as one of the best to ever do it is already firmly planted, or to have a new champion like an RVD get it and lose it right away and maybe fans doubt him since his status isn’t entrenched like that yet? Or there being a big negative reaction when the new face got the thing and doesn’t have the chance to run with it because it’s going right back and the talk of Triple H being the golden shovel who doesn’t let anybody get ahead? Sure it would be great for RVD to win but not if he wouldn’t get a long term chance once he did which he clearly wouldn’t have gotten. I’d rather he doesn’t win until he has a genuine chance rather than a quick take back.
