  • I wanted a bigger and longer hose for my shop vacuum cleaner. Here I show how I connect up using sink waste pipe fittings that are cheap to buy. 40mm to 50mm reducer, 40mm pipe. 40mm to 40mm pipe joiner. 38mm pool hose and 50mm vacuum hose... Everything came to under £40 from DIY store and ebay. You will also need some duck tape and a saw to cut pipe.

Is the pool hose much stronger than regular vacuum hose Wayne?

The noise is too great so I now use 50mm proper vacuum hose now. I cut one peace up and it must of been just the right length to create a perfect pitch and it was deafening. Try finding vac hose or look at centraltechnologysystems.co.uk/product/conductive-shop-vacuum-hose-with-four-piece-power-tool-adaptor-set-19-48mm/
Ill remove this video soon I think... Or make another with proper vac hose as cheap enough... Guess it depends on air flow and length as I still use short bits of pool hose for cyclone...

Wayne, I have a dilemma and challenge. I need to remove dirt from the inside of my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ frame and I don't want to drill drain holes. There is a hole on each side of the rear frame but I need a long flexible hose approximately 10 to 12 feet long and no bigger than one inch in diameter that could attach to a shop vac. Any ideas? If so, please make a video if you do and let me know!

Get and look at plumbing pipe at DIY store. Plastic water tank overflow pipe here is 22mm and you could easily duck tape to vac hose to get job done. There are fittings to increase pipe size near enough to fit vac if you want. Various different size pipes sold around the world, but one of the many plumbing pipes will do job and they don't cost much. Here 10 foot of plastic pipe is £1.50 that's $2.
Also garden hose may work but bore is small but will bend

@@Fredengle You could use solvent waste water pipe as a solid overhead suction hose. Only problem is some pipes can make a noise as a bit too ridged. I've had this. A softer suction hose is quieter or you have to lower the suction airflow. You will just have to try the pool hose. See how it works out for you
