    In this video I show you how to make PVC fittings for your shop vac. I used this method to adapt the hose to my blast cabinet and Dust Deputy.

    finally someone making a video showing the right way to manipulate PVC, i'm so sick of seeing morons posting videos posing as some kind of expert then using a propane torch to burn, discolor and compromise the PVC, good job.
    the easiest way to tell when the PVC is at it's most malleable state is when the surface just begins to get a shine that is starting to look like liquid .....

    That's pretty cool. I've made several different shop vac adaptors by 3d printing, but your method is probably 100x faster :)

    Wow. I am just in the process of setting up a 2" PVC dust collection system in my shop and your video was a break through for being able to connect all the fittings to some non Home Depot blast gates. Thank you

      +Steven S. Awesome, glad it is saving you some money. Those fittings are crazy expensive.

    Awesome vid! In the process of setting up a whole shop vac system and this will save me from having to find various inside and outside diameter pieces.

    I just ran into the same problem when checking fittings at Lowes for my dust collection system. Awesome idea and a cheap fix for sure.

      +Pashinski1 Yes, the real deal fittings are like $8ea. No thanks. This is the way to go.

    Great idea. Thanks for the vid. If I may, a wet towel will cool the PVC very quickly. Thanks again.

    AWESOME! I have the same HF Blaster you have and the same shelf with wheels on the bottom of mine so I can roll it around. I'm going to do this on mine too! Great job. Looking fwd to the HF Cabinet Mod videos. You should make a playlist of your HF Blaster and mods. Thanks for sharing your cool knowledge. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

    Went to plumbing supply and smallest abs flange is 3 ins. Where did you get the 2" abs flange? Do they make it that small?

      The black part on cabinet? It can from HF like that.

    were did you get the flanged stub that you have attached to the side if the cabinet ?

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 5 lety

      Came with cabinet. If you need one, look into PVC toilet flanges. I think they are 3in though

    I got a way better shortcut for you. Put a short piece in the end of that 90 and get yourself a inch and 1/2 fernco or 2-inch whatever size that is and then hook your Franco and your 90 with a short piece of pipe straight onto that. it's like a rubber coupling. That way you don't have to mess around with making your Hub on your 90 any bigger

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 4 lety

      Ferncos are $3-5ea. You are missing the point of the video: saving money.

    Thought I would share: heated up PVC = toxic fumes.

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 7 lety +2

      I didn't notice any smell when using heat gun. Blow torch would be another story.

    Nice information, but all it would take is two simple video edits to deliver the same information in 1/5 the time.

      @rufthrock.b3266 Před 4 lety +1

      It is ONLY a 5 minute video! And, I'm glad to see the whole process, like how long it actually takes to get it softened etc. Also, if he edited, that would take HIM away from doing ANOTHER video!!! Come on, yer bein' cotton pickin' nit pickin'!
