- Officials in Ukraine have claimed thousands of men could be using loopholes to avoid being drafted into its military.
Under Martial Law, Ukrainian men between 18 and 60 can't leave the country as they could be called up to fight in the war against Russia.
But current conscription processes are done at centres based around Ukraine with men of fighting age arriving in person to join the army - with officials believing thousands could be dodging call-ups by not attending.

And majority of these people are just awful in terms of respect, gratitude, and are basically ignorant!

The edit of this video posted by BBC an hour or two ago (BBC Newsnight version) said that the chap standing at the recruiting office desk was there to renew his exemption because he has 3 children. It is subtly changed now to imply that he is there to sign up for war. It is interesting how much of the news is created in the editing.

Yes. But the quality were the volunteers. The youngest and oldest were prepared to fight with no weapons, just broom handles and tennis balls. (It was in a TV documentary I saw called Dad's Army)

As for the counteroffensive, Ukraine admitted in late June that counteroffensive is not going as well as expected(same month it started) and in late October - early November it was confirmed that the counteroffensive had ended. Ukraine did recapture 14 towns but no major breaks in the line occurred.

At some point the soldiers are to tired to continue and have to go have a break and rest thats just how it is with war its stressfull and you cant go on indefinetly and when those soldiers go on leave somone has to replace them. So the thing is the new conscripts not well trained and have no experience go to the front and die much faster. But worst, the new army is getting weaker and weaker with new people going to the front with just of couple of weeks of training. Nobody right in his mind would go into a battle with such a superior enemy. And that only so little people stand up tells volumes about the state of freedom of speech. at the start of the war ukrainian people were refusing to leave the country because they were too patriotic and wanted to "fight". now the government straight up doesn't let them leave. lessons to be learnt here.
Day 1 of the invasion ukraine banned all men aged 18-63 to leave. Unless they left before the invasion, theeir only chance was to have enough money.

The only thing is that people forced to become soldiers rarely make effective soldiers. People with the right motivation and the right skills will probably already be in the military.
I get soldiers probly want a break after fighthing for 2 years but a veteran is probly worth more then 5 fresh conscripts
It takes at least a year to fully train a soldier to be effective on the battlefield,and they need to have the will to fight,so conscription now is just a act of desperation.

@@chrisj2502 You probably got it wrong. Mobilization (conscription) did not stop even for a day starting from 24.02.2022. Current law is about how to make it more efficient because we certainly need to mobilize more soldiers than we usually do. The noise about this law is due to the sanctions against those who hide from draft. Until know people simply could efficiently hide (e.g. worked from home and did not open the door to any unknown person). Now such people will have problems with money (unless they illegally receive salary in cash) and will have to visit draft centers at least to update information about them and their health there.
