I love this idea mate and as a Veteran of 24 years I think even the romans had it right a 20 year career completed gets you a plot of land to build on to live in peace with a pension to keep you fed and clothed etc

There is no way in hell that I would let them send my son to fight and die in some one else's war, especially when what happens in Ukraine or Israel has no bearing what happens here.
if conscripted for service any overseas deployments are voluntary, in vietnam all conscripts had to volunteer to go on a combat deployment, if not you will be put in a non combat role
