Mecha Sonic Mk.II has always been my favorite metal sonic. I used to think that Neo Metal Sonic took inspiration from Mk.II. I do hope to see Mk.II show up again.

There's a model of a Mecha/Metal Sonic Sonic Adventure that's very definitely based off of MechaGodzilla so you're probably correct with your assumption.

5:08 Yes, Sonic 2’s “Mecha Sonic” was confirmed to be a direct inspiration off of Showa Mechagodzilla. And if we go into specifics in terms of time for a second, Sonic 2 released in 1992, and a year later, 1993’s “Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla” came out, in which Mechagodzilla sported a completely new design for the film. What I’m saying is, is that the Only Mechagodzilla Model(s) that existed at the time was the Showa one(s). (Technically, there are 2 Showa Mechagodzilla designs, but they’re practically the same except for minute details such as the Letters on Mechagodzilla’s arms, as he appeared in back to back movies that capped off the Showa Era of Godzilla movies in 1974 and 1975.)

The back story of Metal Sonic, the blue taller and streamline was explained in the user manual of Sonic and Knuckles back in the 90s. It was a simple introduction where he was quote rebuilt to help then called Dr. Robotnik steal the Master Emerald and was actually the soul antagonist for Knuckles in the what if storyline where Sonic came to Angel Island just before the final battle between Knuckle and Metal Sonic commenced. Metal Sonic had a mind of his own and sought out the power of the Master Emerald for himself in Knuckle's storyline. In Sonic's storyline, Robotnik had complete control over Metal Sonic.

That's because while her other interactions mainly extend and stick to the Femme Fatale trope, her dynamic with Shadow showcases a very different side of her with traits one wouldn't expect like care and loyalty. I remember this scene where she tells Shadow to remember that she will always be on his side even if the whole world is against him, that really pulled my heart stringa

You called the devil “black doom” slight mistake but it’s understandable, very good set of videos!
I love Shadow as much as everyone else, but his resemblance to Sonic always felt like a marketing thing. As you said, they pushed him really hard as an 'evil sonic' and while he went up against Sonic, there's not really any reason as to why they look similar (Other than a convenient excuse to frame Sonic).
I really like the theory that Gerald Robotnik had a fascination with Echidna History. This explains why his first experiment (The Biolizard) has a resemblance to Chaos, and why his second experiment (Shadow) has a resemblance to Sonic. It all goes back to the mural of Perfect Chaos, and the mural of Super Sonic fighting against Final Weapon from Sonic 3K (Both murals appearing in ruins relating to the Echidnas).
Other evidence of this are the 'Artificial Chaos' robots on the ARK, the Chaos Drives used by G.U.N. (Possibly developed by Gerald), and the fact that Shadow's quills are turned upward, like Super Sonic.
Gotta tell ya the Rouge part of the compilation had me rolling with laughter. Thanks for that. Also is sonic lore as crazy as kh lore.. cause I didn't know about all the reasons and reboots. So thanks for that too. You be safe as well.

Yooo you completely predicted the origin of the Chaos Emeralds and the Chao. The Master Emerald's origins are still a mystery since it was on Earth when the Ancients arrived, I wonder if the DLC will answer this question.

I'm relieved to see that you ignored that whole 'Dr. Gerald messed with Shadow's memories' idea that's going around. So many people take that as fact just because it's on the Sonic Wiki page. I bet I (and possibly you) am the only person who bothered to check the source on that idea and discovered that's it's ONLY source is the PRIMA guide for SA2 (and we all know that while Prima guides are fantastic for game coverage (despite a lack of maps) they're sh#$ for lore accuracy).
On a different note, I hope Sonic 3 takes a note from Sonic X and makes General Olive Garden the soldier that shot Maria.
Yeah, I never really liked that idea. They used it in Archie to an extent but here's hoping they don't go that route in Sonic 3. People are already theorizing the GUN soldier to shoot Maria will be Tom's father but I don't like that because Tom has no idea what GUN is in Sonic 2. So General Olive Garden would make the most sense
You properly should re do your research than as "Gerald messed with Shadow's memories" comes straight out of SA2 it was just entirely mistranslated.
Where in the English dub Geralds message to the world says that the made Shadow's mind pure and perfect does the Japanese original version state that he completely controls Shadow's memories.(that is unless you want to daub well known fan translators Windii's translation of the scene. )
(I presume this mistranslation happened because the actual ingame graphics depicting Geralds diary already mistranslated it properly because those were made by the Japanese developers that didn't have the best English skills.)

Just a quick reminder that GUN didn't existed 50 years ago in the Movie verse and so if anything would it have been regular American Militarys that raided whatever research facility Gerald was on.
@@TheMentok if it is Tom's father or grandfather, it will still make sense for me because chances are that the person in question is under oath to never speak or talk about the ARK incident, so its not too farfetched for him to never talk about his time in GUN. Especially if it is his grandfather or great-grandfather who killed Maria.

Professor Gerald basically admitted to altering Shadow's memories & that plot point while poorly translated is still present in the English Dialogue. Rouge clearly brought up the possibility in the cutscene before Final Chase in English. A lot of the plot points are easily missed by casuals who only see the stories once, & some details you have to exit the stages & boss fights then return to the story to get from character provided summaries.

There's a big error from when u talked about Tiara in Archie Sonic. Artist Jon Gray was the one who featured Tiara Boobowski in those 2 cameos for Archie Sonic, not Ian Flynn. Those particular comics were made YEARS before Ian Flynn joined Archie Sonic. And while there hasn't been a definitive answer as to why Tiara is banned from being used in the comics, Flynn has theorized a few times on the Bumblekast Podcast series that the reasoning could be due to character ownership issues.

Adventure Era Sonic Characters not sure why Metal Sonic & Tiara are here instead of Big, Cream, & Omega. Wasn't there a Metal Knuckles that you fight in Sonic Advance as well? Sonic X probably deserves its own video. Also Shadow Androids were a thing even though they were only really in 2 Games. Can't wait to see Cream's video, she's probably the most slept on character in terms of importance to the series because of her connection to the Chao, which are somehow descended from The Ancients.

While it would be cool if Metal Knuckles returns, I don't see him teaming up with Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic seems to have a mind of his own (In Sonic heroes and the IDW comics) that can disobey Eggman. Metals jealousy when Eggman shows off another powerful robot, would likely lead to Metal destroying Metal Knuckles out of jealously.
