Mine is still all original and I love it so far! Hoping my accessories don't come loose as not sure I could make the change to the hand-guard as I don't have the machining tool to do what you did.
They are good. There is room to make them better, but I see why the over use of plastic. It makes a better profit margin for sure. Modifying the barrel nut wasn't too hard to do. If Taccom would make barrel nuts, I think they would see quite a few.
You probably mentioned some things Smith may do down the line in a Gen 2 iteration. Personally, I don't have a problem with it the way it is. I enjoy shooting steel with it and love how it folds to take it with me when traveling. Sorry to hear about your CS experience. The S&W CSRs I have dealt with in the past have always fixed my issue and one time they gave me 2 free magazines! Glad you like your Smith I enjoy it too.
The plastic handguard just didn't look right to me. I use mine a lot and even with the bolt not holding open it was always fun to shoot. As for the CS stuff, it has generally been decent. But honestly, I like the Response more than the FPC.
@@hollowpointdefense Adjustable stock would be nice especially just a little more length of pull. I could see the Response a good one for people who enjoy AR's. I saw Mrgunsngear shoot one that literally blew up while shooting. He could have really gotten hurt, after that I didn't even think about looking at it. I did actually add the Kaw Valley comp and enjoy it and a green dot.
@@romans6two338I like it the way it is but a Gen 2 would be nice; if they could shorten the overall length when deployed down to 26”-27”, I know it folds in half but still. A better hand guard would be nice, the buttstock with mag retention is nice. Maybe even a possibility for better triggers.
My only additions that have stayed are the Taccom rail extension and a M-carbo muzzle brake (mostly for looks) . I too am not a fan of the non adjustable stock. The gun is ok, but I never come back from the range with an inspired feeling after shooting it. That being said, I have it on consignment at my local shop. I was able to shoot a rental SIG MPX when I was on the road a few weeks ago and 😮wow! The response might go too. I’m still waiting for a replacement firing pin for that one. I only made 150 rounds before that one broke. I’m thinking that purchase “might” have been a mistake, but I need to have it operational again before I can decide. 150 rounds aren’t enough to judge . The only PCC that is sticking around is my Diamondback DB9R. A True AR9 and a great shooter
The FPC and Response have made some sketchy on S&W products now. They produced an ok gun that is about it. I have never liked SIG. SOLD them all off years ago.
I do wish the stock was adjustable. The plastic rail doesn’t bother me, it’s just something to train with to save money on 556. It is a fun fun to shoot, and I need to get the different mag retention device soon!
Mine is all still original and I love it. What is the change you made to the butt stock? IMO, the way to release the mags is the only thing I am not too fond of.
I just bought mine this week. Looking forward to shooting it. Your vids are helpful. Btw, what aftermarket items do you have in the drawer 🤔? Interested in selling them?
I have the taccom charging handle & buffer plug. I opted to NOT use the taccom charging handle as it just felt rough on the gun and it uses the plastic latch to hold it. My thought was metal on plastic will wear fast, so I opted to not use it.
I'm unable to eject an unfired round from S&W FPC. Seems to stick in the firing chamber. Some Federal 9mm rounds stick, others do not. Any suggestions appreciated.
I have had that issue too, I use a 1/4" wooden dowel and insert through the muzzle and tap it out. Make sure the gun is in the folded position when doing so.
@@hollowpointdefense Thanks. I will be watching for any further developments as to the cause, be it something like the firing chamber dimensions or variations in the various bullet manufacturers.
How come you decided to take off the optic mount like you showed on previous videos? Also, can you fold your aluminum handguard and it locks with the charging handle like it will with the standard handguard?
I removed the optic mount as it did not work for me, It was well built, just not for my usage. I sold it off and haven't missed it yet. I can fold it, doesn't lock. I don't fold mine anyways, it stays full length.
I still can’t shoot mine without it jamming. Even after sending it to Smith and Wesson. Multiple different ammo you can work the action and it will feed and eject shells, but not during firing! So disheartening!

Fun Gun, all the way.
Yes it is.

@@romans6two338 I didn't have any issues with my Response, but I did send it in for repair when the recall came out. It is still fine.

Right now, I am not sure if anyone sells an aftermarket mag retention device.
I agree with you, it is a good gun. Not great. A metal forearm would be a great addition to it. Which one did you get?
I have both. 2 of the FPC's and 1 Response. I prefer the Response a bit more.

They are good. I used the Floyds Custom mag retainer, they no longer sell them due to the design they had. I don't use the stock storage anymore.

Where did you get the buttstock magazine upgrade retainer?
Floyd’s custom gun shop, they no longer sell them. They had design issues I believe.

@@BrandononIce-sk7fx I am willing to bet, it is all ammo manufacturer issues. Try changing your ammo to a different manufacturer.

It would be hard to diagnose without seeing it in person.
