What all the Exorcist fans forget is that it's $55,000 on top of the purchase price of the Camaro. If the Demon comes in around $80k it'll be a good chunk of change cheaper.

I don't believe there are any laws governing how fast a car may be so I'd think that we will continue to see the competition making faster and faster cars. And I think we'll see the same innovation and engineering that goes into those cars trickle down into cars the rest of us can afford which will reward us with better daily drivers.

That last bit of information from Tim Kuniskis at 8:55 was interesting. The car handles well on the road, and will pull over 1.0G in the skidpad with the tires it comes with. Now that is impressive for a car that goes sub 10 seconds in the quarter mile.

This is a strategic move by Dodge and I don't blame them. After watching each Hellcats been humiliated and fall one by one against a single Model-S P90D’s on each track, this is a must have for them. Not only it will restore their muscle car image, people will start talking about Dodge. Marketing. As a matter of fact, I think other gas car industry should thank Dodge for such move and hopefully it will give Tesla’s a run for its money.

I'm sure everyone can say "I can do X Y Z my Camaro, mustang...etc keep it street legal and smoke the Demon for 1/4 the cost...." myself included, I know people driving street legal 7 second quarter mile corvettes, stangs GTO's and that they're only $50,000 dollars into them. The Demon is for a VEEERY VERY VERY specific buyer. It only shines in the 1/4 mile and has a top speed of 168...the hellcat still has a place I the market. Long comment short...making a 1/4 mile monster isnt rocket science...nor incredibly expensive ...but I applaud dodge for their effort.
