How to Install 5 inch Touch Screen LCD on Raspberry pi 4 (Easiest Tutorial)

- In this video I am installing an OLD pi3 5" touch HDMI display to the Raspberry pi 4, you will learn the easiest way to install the LCD to the PI4. There is no driver needed, no-touch driver needed, and not even coding experience needed.
The 5-inch touch display I am using in this video, I got it from banggood in 2018 for the review video of raspberry pi 3. So recently I reviewed the new raspberry pi 4, I thought installing an old display to pi4 will be great.
So if you have an LCD you can just follow the tutorial, hope this is the easiest tutorial for you guys. If you wondering to buy a 5-inch touchscreen display you can check out this one below:

I found the LCD resolution codes from the Waveshare website and got the code from the product description on the banggood.com website. The link is mentioned above for this LCD.

Hello I just order one of these and the display is black when plugging in the usb power and hdmi to my pc. It doesn’t show anything but the backlight being turned on, is there a driver issue or a voltage issue I’m running into? Or is this display only for raspberry pies? Thanks!

Hello, i want to use this screen for my windows pc for on my case, can i take off the black 26 pin connector, or will the screen stop working if i do? I want to take it off so the screen is more flat on the back, i also dont need that connector, i use the hdmi.

Maybe you guys can help me. I have a hifi system that the lcd screen is so old that I can't see nothing. I place music in a usb stick and it's hard to see. Is there any screen that I can use that connects my usb memory stick. Then from the screen into the usb port of the hifi.and whatever I click to play the music it will play on the system?

You have not connected the touch sensor usb to raspberry pi but after the code you have connected and then work

so the starting screen is good and working well without glitching but the touch is still not working. tried putting every model related to the screen (MPI5008 , XPT2046 ) but still won't work and I even tried the model you used (ads7846) but won't work.

Is this panel applicable to use with fingers ? Or only stylus is applicable ?
With finger i didn't get accuracy, may be a perfect calibration is needed before using it with finger. Or you can buy a quality screen. With stylus my screen works 90% accurate, only i am having trouble to touch at the corner / edge of the screen.

Probably not. It's made for Raspberry pi not for normal computers. I checked if a similar model works as a new monitor but It just works when you plug it into a raspberry pi. It's all because of GPIO pins. For example a laptop doesn't have GPIO pins and that is why the monitor is not working. The truth is that this monitor works only if you have GPIO pins. So the answer is: NO IT CAN'T, YOU CAN ONLY USE IT IF YOUR LAPTOP OR COMPUTER HAVE GPIO PINS

No, you can add a mini speaker to the raspberry pi audio jack 😊

Yes you can, many time i used a 5v 2a mobile charger to operate the pi 👍

No, but may be configurations are different. First read the instruction manual carefully.
In pi 4 there are 2 hdmi ports , try switching the ports.

Ya, what we expect from a cheap lcd. There are some better lcd like hyper pixel etc.
