Hey man, love your vids, can’t get enough of em. Always looking forward to your next upload! I have a question for you. Do you ever sit down to enjoy your games, or are you more interested in just finding out what can run what? This isn’t a criticism whatsoever. I’ve found myself more amused in finding new ways to play my old games rather than playing them myself. Example: recently running Loz: oracle of Ages, on a gba emulator, from my Mac, with a switch joycon, on a WiFi projector, blasted about 9’ across my wall. I found more pleasure in my setup than actually replaying my game. Is this something you often contend with?

You can find some 5" HDMI touch screens on AliExpress for around 23 (and cases for 7) which are probably worth a gamble, but there are só many variations it's impossible to find the reviews and gaming demo's that show any potential screen tearing.
Edit: I think it's just for the Pi 2 and 3. the Pi is also mounted the other way around, so there's no room for hats and less room for cooling solutions. A heatsink should fit just fine, but airflow is probably quite restricted. On the other hand, no Ribbon cables or jumper wires as the screen is connected like a Pi Hat with a female header.

This screen has been out for years. It works well but the main drawback is the low 800x480 resolution. It's a pain if you're doing actual work and not just using it for an emulator. Any update for 2022? I connected raspberry pi 4 to that LCD, screen was upside down (obviously), tried the lcd_rotate thing - but unfortunately that didn't worked. I read on forums that there are many people that report same problems, that in never raspbian it doesn't work anymore (they tried older images and tada! works). So any solution for that?

Does the Ice Tower (original) fit in this (without back panel of course)? If no, does the new low-profile one work? Thanks in advance.

My problem with all the RasPi screens is their low resolution. My aging eyes struggle with the dot pitch in low resolution screens, and the resulting blurry text. A good, reasonable resolution I haven't found yet (except that one 5.5" that has screen tearing and costs an arm and a leg). Does anybody know of any reasonable screens? I'm mainly interested in it as a writing machine.

How would 1 power a fan through the gpio pins with the connectors you have? Should i just use a usb splitter? I think my stand came with one. But if i can power both the screen and fan via gpio thatd be pretty cool

The fan and heatsink is cheap so people usually buy them as well... if they need the cooling and don't buy them... then they don't know what they are doing lol

I want one of these in my car. There has to be a way to hook this into a aftermarket harness. usb should allow for wifi hotspot. I could game but I would really like the access to better maps and above all CZcams!

@@Vratikusz anybody can do "easy" but what I cant do with a tablet is mount it directly to my cars audio harness. i dont want to run aux cables and inverters and crap across my car. Id also like the extra usb slots.
