Italians celebrate Valentine's Day a little differently than we do in America, a fact which I learned the hard way after a miscommunication with my Italian wife about our dinner plans.

Everyone always says how lucky Harper is, which is true. But I also think Eva is very lucky, because Harper is a very kind man.

My fiancé is Italian and he is a chef, I watched your channel because your wife reminds me of him only female version. I find this very funny because I deal with this everyday. Italians are very particular most especially when it comes to food.

we grow up with everybody at home that are cooking....almost all the italian fam . And we start very early to understand to cook basic stuff with the basic ingredients....for us is just like breathe. When it happens that someone bring some food on the table is like : ok know we check it out how it is cooked....is like automatic.

@@Broockle Yes that because Latte means milk in italian. So maybe it should be say "Latte macchiato" that it mean Milk and a bit of Coffee (not too much, Capuccino is there for that), sorry for my eng :P

I remember making ravioli with my grandma but we used a ravioli press and we put mint in our filling just like we did with our lasagna and manicotti
I'm from Malta and we too eat a lot of ravioli, but we put parsley with the ricotta

Hey value didn't include your recipe for making Italian ravioli. In my family when I was a child we all made them as a family together. But I wanted to see your recipe. I believe you did them with sage butter
Of course, ravioli with sage, butter and parmigiano or pecorino cheese are the only way to go!
When you are back from your trip I would be interested in Eva's take on italian espresso with your Silvia machine...just an idea.

Actually it's quite common going out at dinner in iItaly tho. Most of the restaurants make up special Valentine's menù. Maybe it looks like a little bit avarage, like 8th March, but it's kinda popular

(And my other half of the family is of Italian descent; my great-grandparents were from southern Italy. ;P) And although I used to help my grandmother make homemade pasta sauce, I still love me a Domino's pizza! Haha.

Sorry Harper... that is not "Italian time". Eva is from the South. So it is Italian southern time. With all the love possible that I have. But here in the north we normally get 5 to 10 minutes early to appointments. TBH I hate being late myself... yeah maybe it is the northern blood in me. But yes, I have southern friends who live here and when we set up an appointment they are always at least 20 minutes late. I've learned it and now I know I can chill out and be a few minutes late because they will meet me even later :-D
