I didn't know games had maintained a $60 price tag for 20 years. I'm far less miffed about $70 for TotK now. Honestly, I'm surprised and unbelievably grateful, it took so long for inflation to affect the game market.
@@zeldafreak1975 Well, that's a bit different. Games being $60-$80 were definitely a thing for cartridges, but they did decrease in price when the moved to optical media. games have been $70ish for quite awhile now, adjusted for inflation.

Idk where you’re getting your games but 10 years ago it was $50, then it was $60 for a while, and TotK is the first $70 game. And I live in a city, where prices are high… maybe you’re talking about Canadian dollars idk
Have to say I am tired of hearing how massive it may be seeing as the game file size is only 4 gb larger than breath of the wild. That is not a massive difference.
I'm very sure the 70 bucks price tag will be a very rare/maybe even a one off thing, I'd say that extra 10 is just for how much larger totk is gonna be
I just really hope that TOTK has a hidden feature or something that nintendo didn't show us yet about the game because with all due respect, 6 or more years for floating islands is a bit disappointing lmao😬😬😬
Logically I doubt Nintendo spent six whole years just making floating islands. Technically we have no way of knowing though. 🤷♂️ I'm honestly not too worried.
When video games sold for $50 20+ years ago and gas was $1 per gallon. Games have not adjusted upwards as much as other products over that time. I understand a $70 price point. Seems 8 years late in my opinion and I’m sure it will reduce sales but it’s likely appropriate.
It's 110.56$ with taxes for us fellow Canadians. That's intense. Even for a Zelda game. Especially in this economy. I'm sure it'll be worth it but it stings a bit.
I don't like.this trend with games raising to 70$ that's getting close to 100$ where as 60$ still feels far off ....To many subpar games are released at 60$ already...imagine paying 100$ for a subpar game...I personally would pay 100$ for this because it's zelda....but it shouldn't be a trend.
In Australia every normal game is either equivalent to $60 for games like smash and botw and totk and $50 for games like smo,acnh,lm3,LOZ SS in Us dollars so we get it for cheap prices hehe
Of course, I would be happy if it wouldn´t "cost more" but it´s actually not more expensive than back then. Because the last years didn´t really make things cheaper. I can only hope that it´s worth paying full price.
I've not owned any console since I bought the Gamecube back in the day, would deffo be interested in a new console from them. Feels a bit late to buy a Switch so will keep my eye out.

I hate to break it to you but nowadays games don’t really decrease in price as time passes. You’re more likely to get a black friday/holiday deal. Just look at breath of the wild…
Even if it is a big DLC…what’s wrong with that? Like, besides the map, what’s makes ppl think it’s a DLC? Lol Either way…the first game was amazing and more content is good.
Well, if it’s a big DLC, then the price should be more like $40-50. People are saying that because if the only new thing is islands, then it’s not enough to justify an entire new game. There should be new villages, champions, even a new race… and of course MINIMUM 30 hours of gameplay to complete the story (without speedrunning).
