This makes me want Minecraft to add deep sea biomes, taking advantage of the new world limits
that would be epic, and also they could add new mobs without making the oceans super crowded with mobs that way
Yeah at best for vanilla you got 2 types of ocean biome variants, ocean, and deep ocean. So you can have a lukewarm ocean and a deep lukewarm ocean for example. Normal is 15 blocks down, but deep ones are 30 blocks down. (Only deep oceans can have ocean monuments)

@fahdrightone7428 the mariana trench is not deep enough to fit the garg. The garg is 15km long, so if it faced upwards so it was vertical, it would be 4000 blocks longer than the mariana trench is deep

I saw your video on the cave depth and I was wondering: "What if somebody made a hole, alice in wonderland type, made the friends download the mod without knowing the contents, left the hole somewhere secluded like a forest or something, and wait until someone fell, and after falling trying to get out, idk random idea, i wouldn't know how i would convince friends to go find a hole and jump without any reason :/

Yes but you can’t free fall in it, the cavity is as wide as 23cm
Isn't that just total depth? As in, factoring the elevation at which the surface of the bore hole is, it doesn't best the Challenger deep?

am i the only one who wants the finish the trilogy off, with a "mt. everest in minecraft"? like it would be so sick to have an 8km tall mountain, and then put all the 3 experiments together to make the ultimate survival world...
You'd need to spin off Minecraft into its own game engine to combine all three, or rather more accurately a realistic scale of Earth known to man in cube form, in order to run it. All the other Minecraft spaghetti code would complicate things.
I can't think of anyone crazy enough to actually try and do something like this, nor could i see someone trying to play that. Imagine a video game where it's scaled to reality so it takes just as long to climb a mountain as it would IRL... Who'd play that?

Hmm… There surely have to be mods that allow for undersea vegetation to generate, right? Take the “Betweenlands”, for example. Despite being pre-aquatic update, it happens to have plants and blocks that work like waterlogged blocks from recent updates. It’s possible, we just gotta find something that works.
Alternatively, you could install “Betweenlands” and see if you couldn’t modify the worldgen to have those naturally occur…
I know making the seabed have plant life in 1.12.2 is possible! We just gotta figure out how!
Try the prehistoric nature mod for 1.12.2!
There are mods way older than 1.13 that add a lot more stuff to the oceans than 1.13 did. I don't remember the mod's name because it was in a modpack

Sadly ocean temples spawn exclusively near the surface so the pillars under it will stretch allll the way up to the surface

Cubic chunks was absolutely my favorite world gen mod, it's too bad the project was abandoned. Hopefully another modder rebuilds it.

YES!!! As soon as I watched your video on cave depth, I was thinking about how deep I could make minecraft's oceans-- then vertical biomes, maybe. I only managed to get to 4000 blocks deep in theory.... let's see how you got deeper

@@tfan2222 Kinda Subnautica themed? Normal terrain is changed so it tapers into floating continents underneath, if you don't have the right equipment on as you go deeper you start getting crushed, unique biomes, etc. I have some sketches of the idea but not much more.
Ya’know, this has made me think of a really cool potion effect for Minecraft. I’d love a “anchored” effect for the game that forcibly sinks you, almost like an inverse version of levitation. Would really create some panic, knowing you can’t just swim up anymore/escape whatever’s(manga blocks) pulling you down.
Iron golems already have this, since they're unable to swim kinda

Made In Abyss is a beautiful, horrifying, occasionally cringey and guys-are-we-sure-the-author-doesn't-belong-on-a-watchlist story that takes place within a giant eldritch+naturalistic horror abyss, which nobody has ever seen the bottom of, and takes inspiration from decompression sickness with the Curse of the Abyss, which curses those that move upwards too quickly, and more intensely the deeper down they are.
So anyway I think you've made it possible to-
wait no I've just looked it up the Abyss is 20km deep. Eh I guess a writer can make up any old number if they feel like it.

Deep ocean truly fascinates me. It's so dark, empty and desolate, with absolutely inhospitable environment. I'm actually making a mod, an addon for Alex's Caves called Secrets of the Void, which will expand on the contents of Abyssal Chasm biome. There will be tiered diving equipment and complex diving mechanics, such as efficiency of oxygen decreasing with depth
If my lungs don't explode from surfacing too quickly, then I don't want it.
Imagine this paired with a submarine mod, and with a horror mod💀🙏

6:28 I dunno, the commercial airline one seemed like a pretty good analogy as someone who's flown on a plane a lot. Looking out the window it's like the world is literally falling away, as within moments you fly tens, then hundreds, and then thousands of feet in the air. Cars go from full size to looking like toys, to looking like ants until finally they're too small to even see. You get to see how impossibly huge and high up clouds are as you reach their level, only to then fly above even them.
So when you say that challenger deep is deeper even than that, thalassophobia sounds like the most rational fear actually.

This is a little less than the deepest hole ever drilled. And in terms of absolute depth, relative to the Earths core, that is just a tiny bump on the surface of an eggshell. In fact, if you could touch the Earth in the size of an egg, the Earth would feel smoother than the egg 🤯
i remember being so inspired by your first video that i immediately wanted to add it to my mod collection next to create mod. To my disappointment ore and structure generation was very poor in my few attempts. it didn't feel like there was a need to dig deeper and deeper from a practical point of view. i hope to find more information on how this can be fixed and give the idea of multi-level superdeep mines and playing the game as a true dwarf a second chance

1.12.2 is still a very lovely version of the game, arguably the best for modding. Most of my own modpacks are in 1.12.2, and so it RlCraft, and so on and so forth.
It would be cooler, if there was like rings in that trench you made in every kilometer.

actually, it's pretty cool concept for the survival series - sea monsters from Ice and Fire, limited oxygen pockets and the only goal - to find a soul sand block as the only reasonable way to escape.
Really glad to see this made possible in minecraft. I wish they made oceans a bit more deep in some areas

I've done a SCUBA dive as deep as 120 ft, which is deeper than most recreational divers go; and when you're traveling down a buoy line to that depth in the water it feels like you're sinking forever and you can't see the surface from that far down. but then I look at the ship I work on which is 503 ft long, and I realize 100ft of water is really nothing compared to what's really down there... The ocean is awesome dude.
The Troposphere is the bottom layer of the atmosphere, the one we live in, so it sounded kinda funny to me when you used it to describe the depth :3

Imagine if at a certain depth point, the entire environment started to get dark (without using shaders or anything like that) and the player started to take damage because of the pressure, it would be a great opportunity to add diving suits, as well as extremely useful items to encourage exploration of these places.

I really want to see a full Minecraft modpack based around ocean exploration now
I would LOVE a modpack where you explore an underwater trench as deep as this with your goal being to reach the bottom (presumably for some treasure). As you go, you have to harvest unique resources from the trench and build structures to gain upgrades and facilitate your expedition.
6:20 - Actually making that hole irl without the water, at that "depth"/level, the air pressure above you would crush you; sea level now being 11,000m lower than current; 11,000m more air on top of you!
7:12 - Here we are at -11,000 blocks and I've not brought enought wood for all the ladders I'd need, a full inventory of 64 stack ladders would only get you about 20/25% of the way back up!! >XD

5:55 the troposphere is from sea level to 18-20km so that's not really something to point out but cool video
5:20 - Prior to you saying that, I was just thinking, you'd definitely need Netherite or better (mode-dependent)backtank + suit. An Empire state building pushing down on every (separate) inch of you; if the suit ruptured, masssive high pressure to low pressure, you're flash air-fried as all your insides (as in your insides and all the things insides the suit inside or out of of you) are force-rammed in to the tank where your oxygen was coming from and reversed and squirted out. Wouldn't hurt though, at the pressure and speed it would occur, your human biology would become literal chemistry and physics, before you'd even had the chance to receive and process what was happening. Bit like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters [it's not total proton reversal, but for all intents, may as well be! :D] and if you had the Cold Sweats mods, you'd certainly die, on top of the pressure it's sub-freezing temperatures... and that vague entity on the edge on perception, that's just in reach*, but always just out of view, with.. something's glinting; almost pointy looking; wait there's something glowing above where that was no; how curiou............! :D
