    • @bridgetevans2188

Yes dry jello pudding. It should be the flavor of the cake. For instance Chocolate Jello pudding goes with Chocolate cake mix. Mix according to the instructions on the box. Add an extra egg. And a little more vegetable oil to give it the moisture. Not too much. Follow the instructions. But, make it your own. So, if the instructions call for 1/4 cup of vegetable oil add 1/2 cup instead and 4 eggs instead of 3 eggs. Mix well. It also calls for water, add a little more than the recipe calls for. Just make sure to mix well. If you have a vanilla cake, you can add vanilla pudding or you can add banana pudding. Just match the color of the cake mix. You can tell a big difference!! I put homemade cream cheese frosting on a banana flavored cake it’s delicious!! Sometimes you have to experiment with it!!! 😉

    The easiest sponge cake:
    8 egg
    8 spoon of sugar
    8 spoon of flour
1 bag of baking soda (around 1 spoon)
To prepare it first you need to separate the white part of the egg from the yellow. You want to mix in the 8 spoon of sugar with the white part of the egg and use a mixer to make it fluffy. Really fluffy!
After that mix in all the other ingredients. The flour, baking soda and the yellow part of the egg.
Don't forget to use baking spray or butter on the bottom of the baking tray before you pour in the mixture.
And then you can put it in for a 180C in the preheated oven. (it's 350 Fahrenheit)
Once it's evenly brown and it passed the toothpick test it's done!
If you want to top it with something make some pudding. Or I can share the TrĂŒffel cream recipe I have from my mom.

@JL Bab Best bet is asking someone who keeps one at home. Most bakeries use a premix which dried and ground up starter added, or they add a dried sourdough that they rehydrate to the bread (and honestly a lot of these are actually really good and are made from premium European starters, so that isn't necessarily a bad thing). But a lot of the fancier bakeries keep their own sourdough starter, any bakery which specialises in sourdough bread will keep its own starter and are usually happy to give it to you. (They used to give it away for free but alot of them started charging after it got really popular during covid but generally they'll give it to you free if you ask nicely).

I remember discovering these hacks years ago and it really changed my cakes. I
I've been baking for a very long time. I've made tons of homemade cakes incorporating new knowledge and tips as I learned. I've had other people's homemade cakes. None of them have ever been better than a box of cake mix that has incorporated these hacks. I also added dash of extra vanilla.
And one of the biggest things I ever tried that I have used going forward was greasing the pan. I always used to have trouble with cake sticking sometimes. Then I started buttering the pans. And I mean really buttering them. Not that nonsense of saving your empty butter wrappers and rubbing the inside of the pan.
Other things I've experimented with but not enough to come to a definitive conclusion:
    - using sour cream in the cake.
    - using buttermilk in the cake
    - Just adding an extra egg yolk instead of an entire egg.
    - adding two extra egg yolks instead of an entire egg.
    - adding a bit of extra sugar.
Additionally, when I haven't tried yet was to add cream cheese directly into the cake mix.

      @misskim2058 Pƙed rokem +8

Definitely! My sister buys these nasty vegan cakes and cupcakes when she needs a cake for something, to support an overpriced local bakery.
She’s kind of one of those people that thinks if it’s expensive, it’s good, and that you get what you pay for, which sometimes is true, and sometimes it’s not even close to being true.
I prove this all the time by giving her something without the packaging, and without any context, sometimes very inexpensive things, even store brands or generic that are actually pretty gourmet. And she’ll love them.
Even just Kroger/Smith’s grocery, for example, makes great their Private Selection line of products. And it’s a wide range of things

Belgian waffle butter cookies, and their specialty ice creams and sorbets are awesome for the most part
I could go for the Bourbon caramel truffle
I think it’s Bourbon caramel truffle ice cream, right now; and their lemon sorbet is better by a thousand miles than the “gourmet” $9/pint lemon sorbet at the grocery store. I’d take their “cheap” but delicious lemon sorbet any day over the downright icky expensive sorbets. I think the sorbet has been on sale for as little as a dollar for a pint, usually a dollar and a half. The pints of ice cream are also a smokin’ deal. They have all kinds of awesome flavors and combos of flavors. And that’s just the ice cream. And of course they have half gallons, but that’s too big for me. But whether it’s their ice cream, sorbet, Belgian cookies, Parmesan cheeses, the sea salt caramels, (so good, $3/box of 9, compared to many boutique chocolates that are more like $1-2 per chocolate piece), or lots of other stuff, the Private Selection label isn’t always great, but they do often absolutely knock it out of the park and it’s awesome.
The vegan cakes Sis gets are expensive, terribly dry, with no flavor. Sawdust would be about the texture and flavor of them, though sawdust might have more flavor if it’s pine, haha.
I don’t know how she convinces herself that they are good. They’re not.

@@starryjeongyeon Nothing, except boxed cake when you're a horrible baker lmao XD (nah but fr I've tried baking cakes before and they didn't really turn out well ^^' Boxed cakes are more of a reliable way to get good cakes while also feeling like you put in your own effort to make it good.)

Because baking is a literal science. There are chemical reactions going on with the acids and bases of the cake mix (or the dry ingredients) catalyzed by heat, moisture, air, ect...if ANYTHING is off, your cake can be hard, dry, dense, or flat. The manufacturers have the dry ingredient ratios down to a science LITERALLY. Majority of people can't get the dry ingredients right enough to have a soft, moist, airy cake.

@@tanishamourid2202 when then i'm a genius scientist. I know it's science, I also know that most people around me are able to bake a basic cake from scratch, including kids. And when talking about bakers, yes, I assume that they know their own craft and should ba able to bake

Honestly, box cake tastes so much better than those expensive custom cakes

Love your recipe, but I also add a box of instant pudding and, instead of milk, an 8 oz tub of sour cream. This makes the cake incredibly moist and flavorful.
