Thanks chad for sharing. I've subscribed and really enjoy your videos. I own and fly a late model Cessna 150. I really have always had a crush on the J3 cubs. One day I hope to have the right season in life to afford me the time and resources to dedicate to a J3 restoration

Nice job. Thank for sharing. I'll make a tool like that soon.
Thanks for watching! Let me know how it works out for ya. 😁👍🏼
I’m sorry I made it out of 1/16th thick material. NOT 1/8.
I've got a better tool, longer bar comfortable to hold. Anyway I just put it on and when they are stuck I whop the tool with a mallet to pop out the retainers. Also not a bad idea to hit the valves with a mallet before doing this to shock them a bit. Use a magnet to take out the keys, don't bother with tweezers. Bottom retainers may get stuck so you'll need to work on them.
I'm looking at buying a 1975 front loader this week, guy says it needs a trudel valve for the brakes. Would this be a similar process for the fix?
I’m not sure. 🤔
