I actually feel heart broken about the boy because he watches both his friends die, then lived in isolation, and after he returns, everyone thinks he is a kidnapper and then, in order to save his friend he takes another 10 years. Mad respect for this guys for wasting ten years for his friend, but then doltish for cracking the first egg.
and not to mention he is mentally A KID doing all this i bet he knows barely anything about the real world and stuff maybe he does because of books BUT STILL 20 YEARS ALONE

@@Hiro99 Exactly. Hell he learned and knows more about that entire town than anyone alive. Growing up thru puberty, I'm certain, he's experienced a lot. And all the money the guys stashed away over a 10 yr period. The movie just forgets all about that.
Living in a world where everything has stopped moving except you sounds pretty awesome at first but in reality it is probably one of the worst experiences someone can ever have..
Sung min was a real man for breaking the egg twice and reliving another decade in this "stopped world"..

I've watched this movie a couple of times a while back. It's so good and there's a lot more details that made the movie worth to watch.
When I saw this for the first time, I couldn't help but think that this was loosely based on the "missing frog kids" case that had been huge in SK years ago. Cause some parts were similar (5 kids entered the woods, one went back home while the others went missing for decades) and maybe this was created based on one of the tales/theories that got spread around the mysterious disappearance before the case was finally closed. The only difference is that on the actual case, the kids were playing around a military base instead of a mine
the other difference was that time stopped for the frog kids for twenty years

To be completely honest if i had to compare the first and second decade i would say the second decay was definitly better than the first, despie being alone in the dark, becuz the first decade they were living in the mindset of being stuck forever, which of course causes mental problems, but the second decade he spent it knowing that he saved 2 lives and knowing that it will end after a decade, plus he was prepared.
But he lost +10 years of his life. Which sums up to +20 in total. The egg is not a gift but a curse. The ONLY scenario where this is useful is to save someone's life.

I used to always think about how like time can just stop for everyone for however many years, and then resume again, and there would be no way of knowing. I loved discovering this movie because it felt like something I would imagine as a kid

Honestly this film looks incredibly well put together with a super intriguing timeline and result but time travel will always have its problems and in this case, what the fuck happened to all the people who were affected by the 3 boys? People just went from having a sandwich to not having one, losing money from wallets that suddenly appeared in front of them from their bag, dirt and ropes and random rocks all moving at horrifically fast speeds to match up with their movement through slowed time. Im not saying this island wouldnt have exploded due to the activity of these 3 boys but… it would have.
You are thinking of physics, laws of thermodynamics, mass conservation and such.
But the people affected is one thing, what about the fact that they still need food in frozen time? That is a way bigger issue.
It seems like the boys have personal time and when they manipulate something, like kicking the water, they share that time with inanimate objects that they touch.

This movie is brilliantly written and directed. It can be interpreted in 2 ways and both conclusions make perfect sense. A feast for those who love to read between the lines and mine things that are subtle. Give it a full watch to know what I mean.
This movie was a emotional roller-coaster. Only those who has loved truly and deeply could understand why he broke the egg for the second time to go through that hell again and this time all alone.

To be honest, one of the superpowers I've always desired is the ability to freeze time. I'd always thought it would be cool, I'd be able to whatever I want without anyone stopping me. I guess the idea of that really excited me.
However, I can't imagine being able to live like that for a decade. It would be horrifying.
I would actually try to travel around the world and attempt to locate and destroy bio hazard lab facilities to release powerful viruses into the world.

This one is a good unique story in this style. It takes concepts people have already used, but doesn't make any cliches. It's actually an original idea and is really a cool concept. Sort of like the final episode of Futurama uses this frozen time concept, but this one is so unique.

@@nayeon1688 I don't think that's the case. Isn't he the only one who ages? Like he didn't get frozen as a kid and then appeared in the body of a 20 year old. He lived through those years and grew up. Maybe his knowledge is limited because no school and had to teach himself everything.

@@nayeon1688 I think that mentally he wouldn't be as mature, for sure, and he would have some social awkwardness. But being put in a situation where you have to fend for yourself makes you grow up real fast. Sometimes kids can be quite intelligent for their age, which is something that I get from him and even the girl.
He also grew up to young adult age with at least that one other friend in the first time freeze so maybe he wasn't as worse off socially.
We just never really get to see him interact with daily life to really get any clarification on it.

If everything just stopped, would everything have the same resistance and be able to be moved, would it have no resistance since all friction has come to a pause, or would everything be impossible to move since it’s frozen in place and stuck permanently in its current position?
definitely, the resistance will be 1000x because the air should also be as thick as jelly because the atoms and molecule also froze in time. It would be the same resistance as moving at hypersonic speed like a spacecraft is 20x the speed of the air molecule; it just slam into the air and burn up.
That was my first thought. If air, water and all other matter including food is frozen in time then how could they breath, drink and eat. Their bodies would not be able to process the materials not to mention the passing of any waste from their bodies...... Just thinking, otherwise an interesting story ;-)
I personally think once the person that is not frozen touches anything it would be unfrozen and once it’s in the body it becomes normal

@@thesauce1682 Good point. The issue would be that all atoms with their electrons and such would also be frozen hence no light from the Sun, stars or even electric lights. I guess we need to step back from all these thoughts as they get in the way of a otherwise interesting story ;-)
It would be really interesting, if this was real and people actually stopped moving except for one person, when everyone unfreezed, no one wouls believe them, since its practically impossible, what if something like this happened, but actually No one knows because No one could unfreeze in that time?
