Sorry, but Metallica not only bouncing back after Cliff died, but literally paving the way for Metal to be accepted by the masses, there's no comparison. Dave Mustaine did amazing with Megadeth. Their RUST era is legendary. But one sells out stadiums that Taylor Swift also plays in. The other doesn’t. Like it or hate it, there's no comparison.
Which means Metallica is as weak as Taylor Swift if we go by your words. 😂

@jorgegastonpenalva6483 Megadeth started after Metallica. So no, I'm not referring to them. In fact, it's not really something specific to any band, but a number of different bands that are inspired by NWBHM bands (new wave of British Heavey Metal) like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc... Metallica (yes including Mustaine) and Anthrax, where good example of the early Thrash acts and also point out it didn't all come from one place as Anthrax is from New York, not California. Neither of those two bands where by themselves in creating the new, faster, more technical version of Metal that became thrash.

@Nissardpertugiu I agree. They do tend to get lumped into that category, though, because they didn't truly hit their peak in polarity until around that time. It's is amazing to think they actually started around the same time as Black Sabath (give or take a few years). That music for you some band start out hot and burn out others take a few albums to hit their stride and still others never truly have a down period. Of course, many great bands don't ever get the number of fans they deserve. It's the one career you should only ever get into because you love doing it because who the heck knows if you'll make money off it, and that's even more true nowadays.
Yes, Kirk Hammett was in Exodus when it was first pioneered. However, Kirk was already in Metallica when the first thrash album was released by them. Exodus released their first album in 1985 but so did Megadeth.
Megadeth released Rust in Peace. Enough said.
