I like both bands and I don't care about the feud
Same it's stupid and childish especially after seeing what Slipknot did to their own band members but the fans rat it up like NPCs it's just depressing to see in my opinion but no one cares anyways and forgets about it.

I saw mushroom head in Cincinnati in 1995 at Bogarts where they opened for Gwar. The lead singer was wearing a wedding dress with football shoulder pads. CINCINNATI HATED THEM.
I was one of the only people that liked them. But the first slipknot album crushes everything.
Yea! That 1st album is still their best one.
Later they started getting all singy and songy.
I much prefer the explosive ordered chaos.
Don’t get me wrong. Their later stuff was also great but…..nothing like the 1st album.
Their 2nd was a close runner up.
Have to agree, that first one was and still is fucking awesome. I like how every album doesn't sound like it's predecessor and they actually work hard on the music, but after vol 3 it's been different. Although I like .5 alot as well a

I just looked up their upcoming shows and general admission tickets are cheapest 38 dollars for some bands and 89 dollars for The Used…..THE USED WANTS 89 DOLLARS?! I’m glad I was there when I was young and tickets were 15 bucks.

I wanna say that there was potential for MRH to have at least had cult following success, but aside from the constant slamming of Slipknot, they also had a lotta inner band turmoil that hindered them. Gotta give them credit for never stopping though. They’re still active to this day
It's unfortunate because they have a lot of good songs and are awesome live
Girth vs length
In an interview Corey Taylor said, they're cool with Mushroomhead, there was no beef between the bands. The only people who created the issue was Mushroomhead's fans at that time.
That last part is untrue. Jeff Hatrix and Skinny used to routinely hurl jabs at Slipknot back in the day. Even if fans did in fact start the beef, MRH took part in it themselves. Hence, Jeff calling them a knockoff and openly-admitting to starting the fight at the Cleveland show.

I love them all.

I listen to both bands, and understand their story. I still enjoy both artists
I like both bands, but I definitely lean more towards Mushroomhead. I think the addition of Jackie Laponza really elevated Mushroomhead musically.

SLIPKNOT helped me through some dark times. Was suicidal for 11 straight months. You know how when you’re so depressed that you just want the throbbing mind-pain to end?
You just want it to stop.
I don’t think I’d ever kill myself because of the massive pain I’d leave behind regarding family, friends. And potentially I might be the ripple effect that would affect other lives.
So I’m glad I pushed through it and forced myself to re-wire my brain to a healthy one.
I now know, that as bad as it can get, I can push through it and come out a champ! on the other side.
But man I listened to SLIPKNOT 1 & 2, twice a day, driving my awesome girlfriend to her day job and back again.

I heard this was one minor incident, that was overblown at the time and then no feud at all.
багато років тому слухаючи slipknot дізнався про всю цю історію з mushroomhead, та вирішив перевірити що воно таке. коли послухав два альбоми був максимально здивований тим, як музика цих двох групп відрізняєтся та більш того мені дуже сподобався тодішній склад mushroomhead. так що ці группи абсолютно різні та порівнювати їх нема жодного сенсу, тим паче після того як пішов Джефф (про p. bennis та gravy з вайлоном вже мовчу)

Mushroomhead has so much potential with the look but they're music just doesn't match up.
Yeah and they passed on every label that wanted to sign them and then they said that slipknot was a roadrunner recored knock off of mushroomhead

J Mann already addressed this a couple of years back, ya master clickbaiters. There is absolutely NOT a feud between Mushroomhead and Slipknot. Corey even brought up the idea of four masked bands all performing on tour together, Slipknot and Mushroomhead being two of the bands he listed. J Mann was deadly accurate, apparently, when he said it's only a media thing. Hell, I was even lured into the comments, so good work lol.

I like both bands but Mushroomhead by far has better Masks than Slipknot.

Saw Anders Colsefni play the MFKR album and Mushroomhead play together a couple of months back in Melbourne Australia, Absolutely insane bands live 🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻

I like both bands. Mushroomhead sounds nothing like Slipknot. Hence my name Shredhead inspired by the band ha. They incorporate more industrial elements then Slipknot does to me, along with piano key parts etc etc. I thought the Righteous and the Butterfly album was their best having Waylon, JMann back and Jeff. Church’s guitar work is sic on that album also. I am stoked we were able to get at least 1 album with that lineup because it became my favorite Mushroomhead album overall. I still listen to that album along with all their others. I like all their albums just about as much though, but that entire record front to back is good. Is cool to see Gravy back on guitar with them touring. Now this most recent Mushroomhead album I rarely listen to. Not that it’s horrible, as it has some decent songs most definitely, but yea not digging their line up as much even though new dude (not JMann) sounds like Mike Patton on crack🤘Miss Waylon in the band though, and Jeff, they were stupid to lose both, but especially Waylon. Best vocalist they ever had. Slipknot is a rad band also and having grown up in Indiana, I was between Iowa and Ohio and saw both bands a lot back in the day. I catch Mushroomhead in SoFLo anytime they come down to the sunshine state which they use to a lot, and is the best seeing them play smaller venues like the Culture Room with all their black lights and water drums. They put on a better show than being in a big stadium which is how we only ever see Slipknot playing at. Granted that show the Knot played out in Cali recently was badass and is usually the size of the Mushroomhead shows which are always killer. Anyway I always thought that feud shxt was retarded, and supported both bands as a fan and fellow musician. The ultimate show would be Mushroomhead/Slipknot/Mudvayne/GWAR. Those dudes would make an absolute killn if they ever put a tour like that together. Won’t ever happen but would be cool. Corey Taylor has even said that would be an awesome tour for the fans. With ego’s, jealously, greed, etc, something like that will never happen. Mushroomhead’s and Maggot’s United.

Even though Mushroomhead hasn’t had a good album in a couple years, Slipknot hasn’t been good since 2001.
it was (and will always be) the fans. Both bands said they got no beef whatsoever and some of their members even did collabs. And you can’t compare both bands to each other just bc they wear masks. They’re both unique and no one’s better than the other. I like both of them and never cared about the feud anyway

I’m kind of a closeted music fan, I ignore the drama and focus on the music. With that said I was only vaguely aware of any animosity between the two groups and kind of wish we’d have gotten a Celebrity Deathmatch out of this!

Actually some people seem to forget the fact that mushroomhead were actually connected to some of the Cleveland hardcore crews (members of integrity and ringworm etc were in mushroomhead back then-both bands connected to a crew notorious for fights and violence), slipknot got off lucky, I think it was people in MH then which is why it could have gotten nasty not so much anymore as they are no longer in the band.
“September the 11th 1999 slipknot play a show in Cleveland Ohio” ah yes, the 9/11 nu metal of sorts.
If you want to make a masked band, it will only work if nothing is ever said about those who leave, and the person is replace. The masks must always remain the same.

As for me, I don’t care about either band.
I'll be honest musically I've really come to like Mushroomhead just a bit more. I loved Slipknot as a kid and met Corey and James and it was amazing. But I dunno I just really like the melodic sound that a lot of MH's music has and even the heavy stuff has a good flow to it. Their sound has changed and I like stuff from the different eras. They are amazing live, the water drums are so cool...Oh the drama? I really don't care about that 😂

It's so silly and so redundant. Despite the fact that both bands ripped off Mr Bungle in the beginning, the two bands have little in common sonically. Other than having 8 or 9 members and spooky aesthetics. Das it.
I can respect all of them; both bands have great, distinct sounds and even cooler vocal work. But Slipknot have a better consistent quality in music. Mushroomhead don't - they have two albums I remember fondly. Songs like 'Solitaire Unraveling', 'Sun Doesn't Rise' and 'Cut Me' or 'Simple Survival' with Waylan were amazing.
Imagine having your entire legacy of art coming down to 'nuh uh, we did it first! Not the other clown guys!'

Not a fan of either band really, but I wouldn't day that Mushroomhead "surrendered" just sounds to me like they grew up a bit, and with age and life experience realized it was a silly beef, and to start acting like adults. Very common for lots of people to evolve this way.
Mushroom head is way better than slipknot now. Not then but after adding Jackie to vocals and Joey getting fired slipknot is bigger but not better

Funny thing is, there would've been a strength in them collaborating and befriending each other. If they embraced the similarities, there would've been more exposure for both, several theatrical tours, and probably a small niche movement of other groups like them.
Hell, you could draw a line to collectives like Odd Future when they were all together.

This is a stupid feud that I have already heard in the past unless it was still ongoing but it really is dumb I mean I didn't know about Mushroomhead until later on I do like some of their songs quite a bit from Qwerty, Confutatis if I even said that right, What A Shame, The Flood, and The Heresy... And the same can go for Slipknot being some of their old songs that I love so much like Spit It Out, Vermilion 1 & 2, Before I forget, Psychosocial, and a few more as the list just goes on even from a little bit of stuff that had just came out from their latest album but I doubt many would say that as the same or like it but I do.
I can't speak for the fans or others as some are just really messed up or dumb but I guess that's just how fans are sometimes but the beef alone is just ridiculous.
Their music is very different from each other, tho. And that's the most important element.
