Kristen Stewart giving Chris Hemsworth a black eye in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012),
Thomas Jane accidently stabbing Kevin Nash during a fight scene in The Punisher (2004)
and Shailene Woodley punching Miles Teller in the throat during a fight scene in Divergent (2014)
I wonder if Harrison Ford tore the same ligaments in _The Fugitive_ that he did during the “Airplane brawl” scene In _Raiders of the Lost Ark._
He also severely herniated a disc during _Temple of Doom’s_ filming, which required surgery and resulted in a lot of stunt scenes being filmed with Ford’s double, Vic Armstrong, until he recovered.
After hearing about his injuries in the Indiana Jones DVD Bonus Features, I often wondered if the blood curdling screams we hear from Indy- while he, Willie and Short Round are in Mola Ram’s lair under Pankot Palace- were the real-life screams of agony from Harrison himself!
The guy in the James Bond movie is a convicted murderer. Look it up.
Were is : The Cable Guy ( Jim Carrey ) ????!!! You used that for thumbnail.
Not gonna lie, if I was struck by lightning while playing Jesus, I'd rethink my role.
Role? I'd re-think my life.
Facts
If ever a case of God working in mysterious ways. 😂
More importantly, Jesus saves sinners. God bless you
been struck twice; not the biggest deal lol
Jacky Chan EVERY MOVIE HE WAS IN.
This guy has his own top 10 of injuries on set.
I'm amazed that the guy is still walking let alone speaking coherently.
True, almost every movie
If they ever do a video on people doing their own stunts, he should be number one! I mean, I've seen BTS clips at the end of his movies, with him doing stunts IN A CAST! And not the "all-star" kind, either!
@@DravenGal agree
@@stephenragland7710 You don't get much more committed than that!
DiCaripo performance in Django Unchained is something else, the fact he cut his hand when he smashed the glass and continued to do the scene is astonishing
And then he proceeded to spread his blood all over Kerry Washington's face😵
@@leonmichuki I still wonder how she kept it together in that scene. It's real blood after all and you can smell that.
riiiight@@peterpain6625
he didnt eve bat an eyelash
@@peterpain6625According to some sources, including Kerry herself, that was fake blood.
How on earth is Clooney's injury lower than a rolled ankle etc.? I don't think anyone here researched how devastating and life threatening a CSF leak is. Your brain sags in your skull and crushes the top of your spinal cord. It leaves you unable to stand or sit up without horrible pain (for me, it felt like G forces sucking my brain through my feet). People have died, lost speech, lost intellectual function from prolonged leaks. They are a poorly understood and tough to treat condition. Many people suffer with them due to missed diagnosis, and failed treatment (Clooney is lucky he even got access to surgery, let alone that it worked; I know people who've had 12 procedures fail). He's lucky he's recovered. I've had a leak, a relapse, and now suffer a rebound of high brain pressure that is slowly rendering me blind and threatens my life daily. I'm so glad he's okay!
Can't you get a shunt? A friend had one for years after his skull got crushed in a car accident. Went to the A&E almost every other day to relieve some of the pressure building up for months. I'm good with all kind of pain but head and toothache are brutal. Can't even imagine how you've got to feel :/ Get well soon.
I’m so sorry, dude 😮
I am sorry you are going through this. Hope you can get the best of care.
Would a shunt relieve the pressure on the brain? My son's had a shunt since he was 2 mos. old. He's now 34 and still has a shunt (revised @ age 6 mos.). I hope you are able to recover. I'll be praying for you.
@@blahblahblahblah6919 shunt! that's what i wanted to write. no idea why i wrote stent :)
Sean Astin got a piece of glass straight through his foot shooting lord of the rings. He deserved a spot on here.
that take didn't make it into the film
Read the title again.
Ian McKellen bangs his head in Bag End during the first LotR film and carries on as if it was intentional.
Yeah he got properly cut up on that scene. They dropped him into the river didn't they?
@@philmcglen6194 they didn't drop him into it, he ran in (it's the scene where he tries to swim to frodo's boat). I saw the take where he gets injured; he runs out and then just stops and freezes. doesn't really react or anything, just that kind of "oh man I'm hurt bad" frozen in place kind of reaction.
supposedly a swim team went in and searched for any sort of debris but I guess they missed one. ouch.
Cary Elwes being knocked out is actually the 2nd injury he suffered while on set of 'The Princess Bride'. in the scene where the man in black and buttercup are talking, just before she finds out that he is actually westley, he is actually nursing a broken toe. While on set before the shoot that day, Andre the Giant, who played Fezzic in the movie who used an ATV to get around the terrain kept trying to get Cary to give it a try. Elwes initially refused, being conscious of the fact that if he got hurt that he had none to blame but himself. But Andre kept pestering him and eventually he gave in. Well, he was unprepared for the momentum when it took off and his foot ended up slipping under the clutch and the big toe was broken. He filmed the scene after seeing the on set medic but before going to the hospital and the way he sits down is actually him trying to minimize pressure on the foot. The knockout was a few weeks later and it was actually the same doctor who treated him both times. He woke up to the sound of stitches being sewn in as in addition to being knocked unconscious he had also split his head open and the doctor upon seeing that he was awake said "Well Zorro, you seem to be a little accident prone, don't you." 😂😂😂
Lol!! Poor Cary! Ouch. :)
Bro that's a whole ass book learn to edit down your stories
@@zyourzgrandzmazjust tell people you're illiterate, kid, it's far simpler. Just because you can't appreciate the facts doesn't mean someone has to dumb it down for you.
@@zyourzgrandzmaz With your need to have things dumbed down for you, I'm guessing you're American?
No, why should they? I enjoyed reading it, it tells a whole story rather than just a quick comment
You forgot about Jeremy Renner when he broke both of his arms in the movie Tag, that was on camera when he did that jump.
There were two back injuries in The Exorcist. Linda Blair also had a fractured spine. The director of that movie was brutal when it came to the stunts.
I thought they'd mention that.
Back fractures suck! I’ve got 4 of them on my vertebra!
He should have been sued and prosecuted
The story is he was way too into it and sadly that was too much of a common thing back then, it still happens sometimes still even today but thankfully it's not allowed to happen unless they can make it look real without it actually being real but some scenes still a bit questionable.
Sadly, actress Dominique Dunne's last acting role before she died included bruises - not makeup, but real injuries she received at the hands of her boyfriend, the man whom would be responsible for her death
That one still bothers me a lot. The creep murdered her with his bare hands (after beating a previous girlfriend, the testimony of which wasn't allowed in court) and the guy serves three years in prison. It's sick.
Was that the teen daughter from Poltergeist who was murdered by her boyfriend?
@@katin6238 Yep. He'd already beaten her, stalked her, manipulated her, threatened her, and finally showed up to her place after she broke things off with him, attempting to get her back. When she refused he strangled her into unconsciousness and she died shortly thereafter. He was in and out of prison in a minute, changed his name, and went back to work.
@MiketheratguyMultimedia Yeah, I remember hearing what he did. Didn't know about how little time he did for it. Fkin bastard.
I immediately knew Jackie Chan's gonna be in this list 😁
He could be an entire list.
Me as well
Another injury (minor) that happened in Scream and is still in the film, Skeet Ulrich actually hits Matthew Lillard with the phone in the head, and that’s his genuine reaction.
That slippery 🩸 will get ya 😂
@@stevieraegoddess08 😂😂😂
Its worth mentioning that in the movie Apocalypse Now, the real hand injury to Martin Sheen would turn out to be small potatoes, because he would also suffer a heart attack during filming for this movie.
I feel your pain, Viggo.
When I snapped a toe in half, I too screamed for Merry and Pippin.
You missed the scene in "Dog soldiers" where "Sean Pertwee" screams "knock me out, hit me!" And actually cops a fist to the chin.
That movie is good but to unknown
Kevin Nash getting stabbed with a real knife in the Punisher?
YES!!!!
That look of fear on Thomas Jane's face made it that much better. To the uninformed, he looks terrified that the big guy got stabbed and didn't flinch. But hey, iykyk.
@@CaptainRudy4021instead we got a look of fear when he stabbed a big guy and he didn't even flinch.
I know, how could they skip that one.
To say that, "To this day, no one really knows who played that specific Storm Trooper" is complete bulls***. The actor is Michael Leader who is best known for his work on the British soap-opera, "EastEnders".
To this day...
...we are too lazy to google it.
it was carey elwis 2nd accident on princess bride- he broke his foot the week earlier. when he woke up in the ER, it was te same doctor treating him who greeted him with the words "You seem unlucky there zorro"
Not a movie but a TV show, Ben Barnes breaking his foot before being cast for Westworld, lying to medics on staff, limping throughout the first season, and claiming it was part of his cowboy character. The janky walk was so iconic that when he came back for the second season, healed, he had to affect a limp to stay consistent.
There is also a scene in Westworld where Anthony Hopkins has a stroke on camera, but finishes the scene before going to hospital!!
I knew Jim Carrey had to hurt
himself for real in that “Liar Liar” scene.🤣
He pulls out all the stops. I think that is what makes him so good.
You can see that the toilet is made from some foamy substance and bends slightly so the room was probably treated in dangerous places, he still probably found a harder and heavier surface here and there if they unleashed him.
I Lost my Shit when I saw it!🤣
Same
I love that movie!
That star wars bonk has to be the most classic
yes...but the Back to the Future is the most tragic 😭 because it was then we knew Michael was done for.
In mentioning Jackie Chan, one of his idols was the silent film comedian Buster Keaton who had his share of on-screen mishaps. One of the most noticeable was in Sherlock Jr from 1924 in which a stunt with a running train and water tower, he unknowingly fractured his neck. The take stayed in the film.
Bruh that Stallone stunt from Rambo is crazy ! How far was that fall ?? Hahah
A stunt performer did the full fall of the cliff, Stallone performed the last third of the fall so his face could be seen. Impressive and dangerous, but not the full 98ft fall the stunt performer did.
@@bertvg86 still fucken crazy haha
Chevy Chase broke a pinky finger in Christmas Vacation when he punched the Santa decoration.
Good
@@SamuraiXGeisha 🤣😂🤣 I swear I felt the same way (said "good," to myself), right before reading your reply.
I wonder what gruesome stuff you could dig up for the "Top 30 stunt(wo)man Injuries actually in the movie". Thanks for sharing.
Didn't a stuntman die in the chariot scene in Ben-Hur?
Edit: Did a quick Google and oh wow, quite a few stunt workers have died either on set or within a few days.
If I remember right, about 30 extras drowned on the set of the original Ten Commandments that was filmed in the early 1900's.
But yeah that dude that gets run over in the chariot scene really died. :(@@Saasan
I believe Steven Seagal is responsible for most.
Must they really be exposed for this kind of physical harm on set? The studios owe all the medical care.....
That's part of the reason they get paid multi million dollar contracts lots of it is insurance.
Fun fact, the chick that went skinny dipped at the beginning of Jaws had her hip dislocated by the machine that was throwing her around in the water
Jackie Chan obviously accrued serious injuries in his movies, but he was doing all his own stunts and knew the risks. It was his thing. Jim Carrey’s stuff is more amazing because he hadn’t been doing that sort of thing all his life. Physical comedy, yes, but throwing himself against walls? No. Dedication to his craft that wasn’t entirely necessary like Jackie’s stuff, but definitely created an icon scene.
Jackie is a stuntman turned actor. He knew what he was doing, most of the time. If you watch the Police Story, his landing into the pads was textbook, on his back leading with the butt. But filming in HK was much more dangerous as it was not as controlled and regulated as Hollywood, which is probably why HK action is held in such regard since the stunts and fights are much closer to reality. Jackie said in an early interview that he was surprised no one hit him on set for Rush Hour, because he was so accustomed to the HK way of filming.
i think Jackie Chan could fill a whole list by himself.
How do you exclude Brenden Fraser in The Mummy?!?!?
Man… these injuries were very painful but crazy that they were used in the movie!
Especially the first one.
Every Jackie Chan movie u see him getting hurt... Matter of fact that can b it's own list... Top 10 Jackie Chan movie injuries, sign me up lml
Was thinking the same thing. Whole list could have been just Jackie Chan stunts getting him injured in the progress.
In 1982 when Vic Morrow and the two kids in the filming of "The Twilight Zone" when the helicopter spun out of control and killed them.
lord jeezus
Jon Bernthal broke his hand during a bar fight scene in The Punisher.
And in the original Punisher movie, they accidentally stabbed the bad guy in the shoulder with a real knife because they forgot to swap it out with the prop knife
You guys really put a slap with a beaded sleeve above Tom Cruise’s ankle fracture over the roof? 😂
Also this entire list could be filled from top to bottom with Jackie Chan stunt injuries, so how come he doesn’t get first place?
Speaking of Peter Jackson, Michael J. Fox hurt his ankle while filming "The Frighteners" and the scene where he hobbled away scared in the woods, his screams were of pain not fear.
I feel like Jacki Chan alone can fill up this list
Jim Cavizel should have taken #1. I mean, struck by lightning TWICE on top of the other injuries???
Very Important fact missed in Scream injury is why it was so excruciatingly painful. The actor had OPEN HEART SURGERY when he was 10 years old and due to visibility problems the stuntwoman missed the protective vest and made a direct hit on the old surgery site. .The site also has a spot where there’s a stainless steel wire inside and if the spot is touched it’s excruciating .They director had hoped the padded and umbrella with a retractable end would keep him safe but but the difficult mask ruined things.
Brad Pitt broke his arm in Se7en, when he's chasing the bad guy...
Buster Keaton literally broke several bones, including fracturing his neck, in scenes that ended up in his movies. He should be number one on this list, but the teenage writers at WatchMojo didn’t even include him. Shameful.
Not to mention Harold Lloyd. Even the Three Stooges sustained injuries that made it into the movies.
And Jackie Chan was influenced by him. Thanks for the shout out for Buster.
They've never heard of Buster Keaton.
I missed Buster on this list too.
thank you thank you!!!! been waiting for this forever!!!! XD
There were many injuries in the Bourne movies that were never even touched on. This video could have easily been the top 1-200 injuries.
Jackie Chan not being 1 on this long list is quite the surprise. I can’t remember the name of the guy in the stormtrooper who hit his head, but he passed away few years ago if my memory serves me right.
Jackie Chan is the GOAT when it comes to beating himself up.the end of most (all?) of his films have the injuries. What a legend
I had a leak like Clooney for a year. It was because of the medical device that I have implanted from my brain to my abdomen, but I'm actually allergic to all of the components, so they adhere to all of the areas that they pass through, and then when I move, the components rip apart, and I develop leaks. They decided to take a year off from surgeries because they wanted to test me rather than repair me to see exactly what I was allergic to (it took a year), so I was left with the debilitating pain. At one point I was on a really strong cocktail of pain meds and they wanted to take me off of them - not because they had done anything to repair the tearing or leaking, but because they were worried that I was on the medications. I really did want to stop living. It felt like my skull was being beaten by a tire iron. I was constantly being told that I should stop taking anything for pain, and just get counseling.
Buster Keaton broke his neck while filming Sherlock Jr. Never realized it until years later.
I don't understand this list. How is a dislocated shoulder and being struck by lightning? (#14 passion of Chris) Not in the top 5.
God bless you. Jesus saves sinners
Thanks for useful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
number 31, something you don't expect to see on a list like this is comedy, but David Bowe got legit hurt in UHF: in the Uncle Nutsy's Funhouse scene, with Weird Al playing Uncle Nutsy, and Bowe's character Bob as Bobbo the Clown, the bit where Al says "look up, look down, now look at Mr. Frying Pan" and then hitting Bob in the face with a frying pan, Al didn't quite pull the hit back quite far enough and actually wallops Bowe right in the face! fortunately, due to the red clown makeup, you can't see the blood, but Bob's angry stare in the next few shots is not entirely acting
Watching from Brazil... I just LOOOOOOVE your videos!!!!
back then Hollywood didn't care about their actors.... nowadays they don't care about their audience.
No they dont care about the actors either.
Surprised the punisher scene wasn’t on here
Jackie's injury in Police Story is legendary. 🐐
No honorable mention for Moe Larry and Curly?
This list should've been filled w/ Hong Kong action movies.
That's should be a whole another list
@bishop51807 As well.
Thank goodness Clooney recovered
That sounds horrific
In the same movie, Police Story, where Jackie Chan performed the stunt with the lighting fixture in the mall, another co-star was ejected from the top deck of a bus (when it screeched to a halt) and it caused him to fall out of the window and land upside down on the pavement 😂
I don’t think that’s funny, though
@@clivematthews95 Snowflakes don't find anything funny; go cry to your gender studies professor 😆
Brendan fraiser in the mummy
Yes!
In that scene in police story Jackie Chan also suffered electrical shock and broken vertebrae in addition to the burns
Not even an honorable mention for the hand injury to Orson Welles in "Citizen Kane????"
The thumbnail is hilarious! 😂😂😂
I had a CSF leak that lasted over two weeks and can attest that it is the most painful thing ever. I described it was a "black hole of pain" to my doctor. I had two blood patches that didn't work, that was a whole new level of fun I hope to never experience again.
there seems to be a recurring theme of men, taking their rage out on a poor helpless mirror, either by headbutting or punching it
The exchanges between Melissa Mccarthy and "Phil" in THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS 😂
They should do a list like this for TV. There's actually a lot on many different shows.
Christian Kane received the scar above his brow on camera in Leverage. The scar on his lip was during filming for the movie Second Hand Lions, but I don't believe that take was used in the final film.
I can't remember which actress it was but one of the lead actresses on The Poseidon Adventure broke her finger during the scene where the ship capsizes. It isn't seen, though.
Yes, they know EXACTLY who played that storm troopers.
Leo's "White cake" performance in Django Unchained is so eerie& powerful.
Are timestamps too much to ask?
I never knew that a storm trooper got a head bonk 😂
Filming an episode of Supernatural, I broke TWO toes at the same time. Take that, Aragorn!
Most of you won't know one of the superstars from India, Amitabh Bachchan who was injured in 1982 movie "Coolie" and was clinically dead for a couple of minutes. The Nation mourned and prayed throughout the country.
Thousands of fans lined up at the hospital doors to offer their blood. He was offered 60 bottles from 200 fans.
Later in the 2-3 scenes, where he was injured were paused on the big screen with (never been done before) added large captions telling the viewers these 10 seconds is where he was injured during a mock fight scene.
Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister visited the hospital. Her son Rajiv Gandhi who was the next PM after Indira Gandhi cancelled his trip to the US. Both were assassinated on separate occasions.
40+ years later, in 2024, countless hard core fans, thousands of people still gather around at 81 year old Amitabh's house and Shah Rukh Khan and other celebrity's houses to get a glimpse of these Actors. The actors step out on their balconies for a few minutes each day, if they can and wave to the crowd.
I wonder if someone from jackass will be mentioned
Viggo also broke a front tooth while filming one of the LORT movies.
Unless you we a child in the 80's, you could never understand how important Rocky IV was in solidifying your fear of the Soviet Union. 😂
So happy Django Unchained scene made it in here, being top 3!
He took full advantage of that injury; in fact it added to the character he was playing!
Jacky Chan could have had his own entire list, to be honest.
How many times can we use the word "iconic"?
you need to include taylor hickson the next time you do one of these videos
wikipedia: In December 2016, while filming Ghostland, Hickson was told by director Pascal Laugier to bang her fists against a glass window and that it was safe to do so. The window then shattered and she fell on the glass, severely cutting the left side of her face. The wound required 70 stitches, which left her with permanent scarring.[21] In 2018, Hickson sued the film's production company, Incident Productions, "seeking damages for lost income and future loss of income". In 2019, Incident Productions "pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the safety and welfare of a worker under the Workplace Safety and Health Act" and was fined $40,000 by the province of Manitoba for the incident. Hickson stated that the experience left her with "trust issues"
Personally I'd put "Django Unchained" before Viggo in the Lord of the Rings because while Viggo screams in pain, we can see the blood on Leonardo's hand. And I'd put Jackie Chan at number one because he does his stunts, he knows the risks, and he has more injuries than everyone else on the list put together. He is number one.
Talk about commitment to your art/craft!
everyone always forgets there is another stormtrooper that bonks his head on the Death Star. It happens while they're trying to get through the door to the back of Luke and Leia right after they swing across the chasm. The stormtrooper is crawling and you can see his helmet suddenly shake and his forward movement stops immediately.
i remember seeing that rambo scene as a kid with my dad and the smartass he was couldn't stop himself from saying "ah yeah, great puppet they used there" a normal person would claim he said that so kid-me wouldn't worry, but he really just is that kinda person...
When I first saw TD-110, the stormtrooper in the #30 pick, bump his head, I had to ask myself if that was scripted or not.
I heard about it long before I saw it. In fact, after I'd heard about it I watched the movie probably 10 more times without seeing it. I think the first time I saw it was when I looked it up on CZcams. Now I can't UNSEE it.
Miles Teller getting punched in the throat by Shailene Woodley during the short but intense fight scene in Divergent (2014)
I heard that Shailene Woodley was actually very hesitant to hurt Miles Teller during that scene as they were close friends outside of filming until Shailene ended up punching Miles in the throat which was intended for the scene but his reaction after getting punched was real.
She's cute. Wish she was in more movies.
I knew that Viggo scene in LOTR would be on the list but I was very surprising seeing it on the n1 spot
left out the fight scene in "Darker than Amber" between Rod Taylor and William Smith. Both sustained injuries and one of the best fights you will see on the screen.
The judge there at the end.. rest in peace Jason Bernard.. he was in so many things I enjoyed growing up. He passed away far too young
Also Robin Shou as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat. In the fight scene against Reptile he was thrown against a pillar and ended up fracturing a few ribs.
In "Halloween 2", Lance Guest insisted on doing a slip/backwards fall in a pool of blood. He went down hard, and although there was no update on injuries, it had to hurt.
In scream 3 during the scene where Sidney stabbed roman with ice pick, the scream of pain from actor Scott Foley was real since Neve Campbell missed the protective layer
Number 1: Jackie Chan - all of his movies
Alan Rickman blew out everything in his right knee in Die Hard when he jumped off the back of the truck if you look closely at the elevator scene you can see that he's trying to maintain his balance while keeping the crutches he was using out of the shot and bringing his gun up into the shot all at the same time. It's not obvious but if you watch his face in the film Dogma, you can tell how much pain he is in from the weight of Metatron's wings and I'm not sure if it's still in the film but in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, he specifically warned Tom Felton not to step on his cape but the director wanted Draco to be walking close behind Snape so that's *exactly* what happened and as a result Alan Rickman got whiplash.
Apparently RDJ broke his ankle on the set of Iron Man 3 and if you look closely at the scene with the battle with Aldrich Killian, when Tony jumps down from the now destructing Roxxon ship, it's pretty obvious where it happened. They had to shut down production for 5 weeks so RDJ's ankle could heal.
In LOTR, Viggo also bats a way a real knife that was misthrow towards his face! Another amazing shot that was kept that could have been life altering 😕
Moe Howard (THAT Moe from the Three Stooges) fell from a table that flipped onto its side and landed heavily on it, breaking three ribs. He carried on with the scene.
You should do a top 30 list like this with just Jackie Chan. I'm sure he has enough movie injuries for it.
The shock master played the head bonk storm trooper.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm already blurting out: Linda Blair in The Exorcist! OUCH!!
Oh my God The Passion of the Christ was so terrible the guy playing Jesus got struck by lightning😂
