Magnus opponent always experiences this, they didn’t blunder, they played good moves, but out of nowhere suddenly they are in losing positions. Just crazy stuff by Magnus.
Yeah, it's almost unfair, the guy's brain is basically a chess engine.
The Magnus effect!
Magnus is probably the best endgame master, that's how he does it.
Haha exactly
_"There is no opening. There is no middle-game. There is only end-game."_
- Magnus.
well please do tell us mortals who is close to Magnus? The stadment was referring to present day players
So you are saying Magnus said this ? Being the Great Player Magnus is he definitely is the Endgame Expert he does play unorthodox openings at times
Lol there is no such thing as making up a quote. He just made one. Why you pressed lol.
Going into inferior endgame where Magnus has 0 risk to grind already a mistake for Gukesh
Exactly
What choice did he have? Lose fast or grind it out and still probably lose but chance of a draw.
🤡
Taking a risk sometime worth it..... we don't know who will blunder when
This Magnus guy really has it I tell you.
He got lucky again !

@@Josuke217 Ok , no sense of humor dolt !
@@peterkoch3777 well, almost everytime .
When you realize that gukesh didn't really make a mistake and he just couldn't find the computer precision kind of defense is when you know how strong really Magnus is. Never doubt him! No one is close to him
And Carlsen doing this while openly admitting he so bored of classical chess he even asked himself why the fuck he is in this competition lol 😂😂
Magnus is almost as strong as me. Its a fact.
@@phanhuyduc2395honestly I don't blame him for being bored... This guy is in a league of his own, especially these days... He is opening that gap, Fabi is also having a great year.. I hope you reach 2800 level again, he belong there...
@@axlan186I know buddy.. I know💯💪❤️
@@axlan186 yeah he is physically strong too...
wow Magnus with black and a rare opening goes all in against preparation!
this is my defence, I always play it but with a little bit different move order and I go for King gambit
It was Magnus's smartness to offer pieces for exchange to make things simpler, and make sure Gukesh doesn't unleash a sudden attack, since he would be left with no pieces. He made sure there were not many pieces for weird attack ideas.
And Magnus is anyway too strong for the end game.
Exactly.
Magnus is like a computer when big pieces are off the board. But when they're on the board, there's much more room for creativity and he can't calculate everything.
So, to beat Magnus, you have to keep the big pieces on the board and hope for the best.
Endgame with Magnus is losing in all possibilities.
Some call it endgame. I call it Magnus Carlsen.
Magnus Carlsen is the GOAT. It's so obvious. Magnus(poor form) can beat a 2700+ Super GM (great form). This guy is built different
@@Josuke217 hahhaha exactly.. Your observation is on point.. I think he clearly shows that even though a person might be so good but experience plays a great role
@@Josuke217then what is difference between poor form and great form of magnus 🙄then
@@frenzoop I don't think magnus has a great form right now , he seems bored.
2019 Magnus was a beast. Triple crown + great form.
A wild game... Magnus wins after despite deviating from known lines starting move 5 and not castling while Gukesh castles long and makes a pawn sacrifice!
I went on break from work and looked if any new games from agadmator was up, but no. 2 minutes later he uploads this amazing game. Thank you for all the great chess content!
Curt von Bardeleben. The player gained notoriety by apparently putting on his hat and walking out of the tournament hall when he had a losing position at the Hastings tournament in 1895.
This is my favorite chess channel.
Magnus now 2845
With that rating still rising
Best clsssical player
The only way to explain the loss was that he was playing against Magnus Carlsen 😂
@agadmator 8:35 "the biggest problem for Gukesh is that he cannot play c4", you are incorrect. According to the GMs that were analysing and Hikaru, this was the proper move although tough to play. But this is where Gukesh lost the game. After c4, white is rook f3 and you end up 2 passed pawns vs 1 past pawn and with perfect play that would end up in a draw.
Well,u know you in a lot of trouble when u find yourself in such an endgame against Magnus
Now beating Magnus with Black .
Good luck with that.
Even upon blunders magus can find drawing chances with white.
But it seems as though the young GM will be taken to school tomorrow as well 😅.
No chance in hell winning with black against this monster machine like Play.
Gukesh now has to pull of a Hans Niemman
In endgame,
Gukesh: How many possibilities?
Magnus: 16 million
Gukesh: In how many I won?
Magnus: One
u mean none?
You mean draw 😂
Gukesh: what does it take ?
Neiman: beads
😂
You mean how can I survive
Guys Gukesh is 17 and in top 10. Vincent is 18. That itself is a monumental achievement. These guys are challenging top players who have so much experience. Experience has its own advantages and disadvantages. But we are seeing these new legends come to the top. They will own the chess in future.
There is actually a better younger player
It is extremly good for the game of chess that these 2700 plus young genius players are breaking in to the top 10 lit, but they will not own chess unless Magnus lets them
How does experience has a disadvantage?
Don’t forget Magnus became World Number 1 when he was 19. 🐐 for a reason.
But at the same age Magnus already achieved a lot.
Gukesh being an amazing young talent was taken to school by the GOAT
Love Magnus. Everyone keeps wanting to call for his decline, but he keeps showing why he is the GOAT. And he is such a genuine, thoughtful guy. Have to admire him. And love the content!!
The best chess player in the world is a motivated Magnus Carlsen. The second best is a demotivated Magnus Carlsen.
Third best is drunk Magnus.
This game went just as Magnus wanted it to I think the Queen trade was actually the beginning of the end for Gukesh all the trading of pieces works to Magnus favor just incredible how Magnus worked his Magic with the pawns at the end Gukesh will have to do much better to give himself a chance to win with the Black pieces tomorrow
@@fdaa3154 yes he will but Gukesh should’ve tried avoiding trading many of the pieces that works in Magnus favor the Best player I’ve seen at Endgames
You can't beat Magnus with all the big pieces off the board. Don't know why no one understands this fact
I know right
lmao, talk like you can win him with all the big pieces on the board? You understand it then how about you yourself go beat Magnus?
I reckon it's a choice of not taking risk. His opponent may have a more hopeless position and lose faster if leaving strong pieces on the board.
@@sokratesowly2256lmao, that's NOT what he said or implied.
Gukesh better bring out the beads
No shame in his game for Gukesh. Well played by him. It’s just unfortunate that Magnus was his opponent. Gukesh played with great precision. But that’s where Magnus shines. Keymer tried to create imbalances (at his risk) but knew that was the only way he had a chance against Magnus. Gukesh will need to try to throw a monkey wrench in Magnus’ spoke tomorrow if he’s going to create opportunities to win. He may crash and burn. But hopefully he is clever enough to trip Magnus up. Very few can. But I believe Gukesh certainly has the minerals to do it.
Winning on demand against Magnus whit black is nion impossible
I hope, Gukesh will win, not only the game, but the match. I want to see him in the candidates.
Magnus employing the so called anti generational stretegy ..
No spoilers in title
GOAT.
Class act
Just as a side note, the actual top engine recommendation for Gukesh's 34th move is precisely c4, because after white's Rg3+, black can respond with Rf3, and any variation from there will lead to an equal endgame
Pretty sure Gukesh saw Ra5 right away. But the followup plan - giving up the g-pawn with check and running the king over to the kingside was incredibly tough to see. If you don't see that plan, Ra5 wouldn't make any sense
so how did he see it if he didnt see the follow up? are you dumb?
yes ofc u r pretty sure whats going on in gukesh head, u must be very close to him
@pralayaryan we need the downvote button back for you
Hi Agadmator ! I always enjoy your channel ! Cheers !
Gukesh is brave and bold for going for endgame that quickly against Magnus...
Well brave is not the right word…
There's a very thin line between being brave and being stupid!!
Is shows his lack of experience at this level but he is on his way to become a chess monster, just give him a few years
So sad, the end of Gukesh's run. There is no way Magnus will lose tomorrow, and even if he does he is far stronger in rapid.
Winning with black on demand against Magnus in a classical game is about as tall of an order as you could ask for.
@@gelatinousjoe7979Especially when magnus does not need to win.
Gukesh is a top chess player, Magnus is a chess genius. That's the whole difference between them.
Good game by both. The determination to exploit minimun chances in endgames remembers me the definition given by Kasparov, Magnus is a letal mix of Fischer and Karpov!
"You have a Queen and your opponent doesn't." LOL, I love a good Agadmator quote. =)
This is real strength of GOAT ❤
Winning end game with Magnus is always an impossible task.🤦🏻♂️
Agad strikes again😊😊
Is Magnus getting better at chess?, he's in monster mode at the moment
Thats cuz this is the only tournament he’s nvr won.
I think this Magnus guy is a wizard. How on earth can one play a perfect game and still lose?
The strongest classical player in the world by far that doesn't like playing classical
Best comment ever and 100% agreed
This Magnus guy really looks like a champion material.
Telling you that the downfall of Magnus is the peak of other chess players!
The downfall is that time has worned down his mental dedication. In sports its the physical mileage but I see as a noob in chess it's the mental mileage. He seems tired and unmotivated but he's still Magnus. I know zero about chess, but it feels like that been there, done that moment coming for him.
@@chrism6446 Magnus was listening to Norwegian comedy podcasts during games about a month ago, so he's not having "fun" anymore. While having a blast playing poker. So...
He is not downfallinng
I bet if he makes it to semifinals we might see a more motivated Magnus. Never winning this tournament might bring out a motivated Magnus
@@markrobertson3054 certainly not it's just he is not preparing himself for classical chess and more into faster time control which makes us amazed that how someone is not into the best shape of the career still winning almost every tournament he is playing.
If Hans Smoky Niemann can beat Magnus in Classical, then Gukesh can tomorrow too!
Magnus aims to be the one to deliver an early complete new game.
13:06 -- that every player throws in some spite checks before resigning is how we resolve ourselves to defeat my man, hoping against hope someone will blunder and from somewhere a chance will come to somehow draw the game, even though it never, ever happens (against anyone above 2000, at least)
Dang agad on the ball
"You have a queen, your opponent doesn't"
I been in Gukesh's position many many times.
This 😺 is the some of the best content on YT,& im not even a chess player.
None stop coverage…he’s relentless.🎖️
Ra7 really didn’t make sense after you explained it because Gukesh just brought his rook back after the check. To think a tempo made all the difference, such a brutal game. But finding Kc2 after Ra5 would’ve been unreal regardless.
Carlsen played his rook and pawn endgame like the old Rubinstein method!
Very very well played gukesh you played very well but lost today to the greatest chess player and current world champion magnus ...best of luck for tommorrow...your time will surely come ...keep it up ...
Go go go
Indians have hilarious names to speakers of other languages ngl. Gukesh is pretty similar to the "you" form conjugation ("gukash") of the Bulgarian verb "gukam" which means to coo (as a baby). So whenever Agad says Gukesh I can't help but say out loud "cooing baby goo goo ga ga" in Bulgarian, which is kinda fitting since he is just 17 anyway :D
lol
“Doesn’t he know that I’m the greatest endgame player of all time?” -Magnus Carlsen
Your sentence stands true even without the word 'endgame'.
it felt like watching magic,
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT! THE GOAT!
Gukesh is playing pre determined moves
Quick off the mark Agad, good evening everybody
"The endgame anaconda king from Norway squeezed the brave Indian juvenile to the maximum in the world cup."

He had to play c4
Great content. Always enjoy this channel as it is purely chess. No beating around the bush.
This was a masterful game. I think the game Magnus played against Vincent Keiymer was his rate limiting step especially when he made a terrible mistake in the middle game but Keiymer couldn't find the winning move. When Magnus survived that 'rate limiting step', I knew it was all over: HE IS GOING TO WIN THE CUP.
He is in his own league!
Can you elaborate on rate limiting step ? I am noob
Great game. Magnus caught off guard by the unexpected opening but his calculations so good it doesn't matter. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Magnus is just a class above all.
Magnus is on another level to Kasparov Vishy and Fisher.. He is the GOAT . And Guki played well, he will learn a lot !!
Gukesh's journey ends here..
How far u travelled 😂
Temporarily it might but his journey has not even begun really there’s no stopping what the future has in store for Gukesh
@user-bj7wq1vj1w wow you are comparing a subscriber to a proplayer. Is it because this subscriber is that good or because gukesh is that underwhelming?
Gukesh is 17 this tournament is just characterdevelopment for him.

8:39 according to ChessBase India, Gukesh HAVE to play c4, after Rg3+, he will block check with Rf3, Carlsen will take the pawn on g2, Gukesh takes the pawn on b5, double his pawn and go for a draw
