00:00 Hello Everyone!
ARE YOU EVEN USING THESE??
The 85th edition of the Tata Steel Masters is a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 14-29 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen heads a field that includes Ding Liren, Fabiano Caruana and teenage stars Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Vincent Keymer and Praggnanandhaa.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. A tie for first place will be decided by two blitz (3+2) games. If still tied, the players keep playing single "sudden death" games where White gets 2.5 minutes and Black 3 minutes until one side wins. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. You really don't have to apologize for a longer analysis, I love watching your videos and the longer they are, the more time it is to enjoy them.
We all do
I agree, I love longer Agadmator videos
I try to find the games somewhere else so I can enjoy the drama without Antonio ruining it. Bu I always like to watch his videos for his analysis.
Yeah im always excited when the video is long
after watching the video , this is the same thought passed my mind.
he made this long videos entertaining so there is nothing to be sorry.
Agadmator’s style is so much better than all the other big chess youtubers
Yeah because he's got the best understanding of people. Levy is cringe, hikaru is just irritating and most of the others are just abit weird. Chessbrahs are good too. But our agad is the classiest, the most engaging, the best.
@@jackbicknell4711 very well said
@@jackbicknell4711 ChessNetwork is an OG chess channel- basically dated all the way back to when youtube first started.. The only channel I prefer over agad by the slightest of margins- yet that channel never gets ANY recognition for some reason.. that guy is such an amazing storyteller as the game unfolds and I just don't get why he gets slept on so hard.
Gotham Chess has fallen really far
@@ballaking1000 Interesting I hadn't even come across this channel, I'll check it out
This game is a masterpiece! ... What a heck of a game ... Definitely in the books forever!
The game where Gukesh D upgraded to Gukesh A
😂😂
The game where Pragg got Gukesh's D
@@leonardocontreras9690 lol 🤣
Good stuff right there
Same joke everytime

"Wether it's a weakness or a strength, they would have to discuss it in length" - Agadmator 2023
Wonderful rhymes.
Had to come look for this comment
This guy’s channel is much purer than gothamchess. No drama, no drumrolls, no begging for subscribers. Comes to the match straight away and analysis is top notch. Only thing lacking is the win prediction percentage.
Yeah, I like seeing the engine evaluation bar.
gothamchess is just commercial-hollywood-advertising-type thing, full of clickbait headlines, bombastic talk, money giving, drama, and pretty much everything I don't like.
Agadmator had hundreds of thousand of subscribers when gothamchess made his 1st video two years ago, and a much interesting and intellectual fan base.
In the youtube chess comunity Agadmator is the simply the purest and best channel ever.
@@bradleywalker8642 i think you like hype and drama that comes with gotham chess. sure is entertaining i watch it too, but agadmator is class.
gotham and agadmator both are pure gold ....... don't compare gold with gold
@@IulianMihaiu why is that a bad thing? gothamchess has made chess so extremely popular in recent times. agadmator is my favourite but obviously i can see the appeal for gothamchess's channel
This was a really great game. The quality of the game was top notch. And I think people always enjoy detailed analysis, since it is Chess. There is no point giving superficial analysis in Chess. So ideal time for a video is between 15-20 min.
I think it depends obviously on the quality/complexity of the positions that arise.
For example WCC game 6 Carlsen vs Nepo was extremely complicated and the 40 minutes feel appropriate. Then there's Anand's immortal that lasts little over 20 minutes and the position are super complex too but one sided.
In the end it comes down to how much you can milk the content with concepts
Gukesh is looking into my soul
😂😂
🤣🤣
I was hoping that Jorden's escape vs. Vincent in this round would be shown, but Gukesh had this amazing win. You can't see the Foreest for the D.
That's hilarious
Better than not seeing the D through the forest
I wonder how many will twig your pun. Nice to see you branching out. I'll leaf it at that.
A good pun after a good while
You are looking so nice so beautiful great game fantastic video keep up good work thanks for shared stay always connected dear friend. God bless you 🌹🌹🌹🌷🍒🍇❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏
Agadmator your expanded analysis was extremely helpful, insightful and very much needed in such a complicated game. 👍👍
Whenever I am watching a game between Pragg and Gukesh I feel like I was having a stroke :DD Insanity
"And Black solved all of his problems" Love it 😄
great post, I truly enjoy ur 'longer' videos. Cheers
what a game by Gukesh! Wow!
Two upcoming monsters 🔥❤️
two cheaters with engine

@@SpellingBeeC Dumb sucker🐶😂
@@SpellingBeeC ??? what, please expain
@@SpellingBeeC Yeah, other's living in stone age?
White's victory required unrelenting precision. If I were handed Gukesh's winning position, I could never have played with the precision necessary to bring it home.
Pragg is so intimidating at the board 😳
#suggestion: Jorden van Foreest vs Vincent Keymer. I need help to make sense of that end game
Lets just take a moment to admire Agadmator has posted once more
Appreciate you, agad! ❤
Praggnanandhaa is only 17 and made $129k playing chess last year. What a little legend!
That exciting moment Agadmator is like... "look at dis"
Probably my favorite game of all time.
YES AGAD WE ARE USING THESE
we love the timestamps :)
Never apologize for longer videos.
Very complicated game and great analysis Agadmator.
#suggestion pls check out Salimova - Yordanov (Bulgarian Men's [sic!] Championships 2023) - absolutely sick game, and she's doing great all tournament, could become Bulgarian Male Champion :)
I like the time stamps. Sometimes I don't have the time to watch the whole video and they help me get to the parts I like as I like chess puzzles. When the time stamps aren't there I sometimes skip the video.
I don't mind if the video is longer love the content and i like the way you explain things very entertaining.
#suggestion Adhiban versus Eline Robers was a sac fest brilliancy
#suggestion round 10 of tata steel challengers: luis paulo supi VS ivic velimer
supi had an worst position throughout the entire game, but manages to find all the best moves in the end, makes a comeback after 72 moves and finishes with an nice double horse action
We love you Mr Radiç
From Uganda,east Africa!
The kind of game you expect from top 10 ranked players.
Reminds me of a game you'd see in the 20th century. Less reliance on solid computer lines and more risk-taking and tactics. Reminiscent of Fischer or Alekhine.
Thank you for your analysis! Very helpful. I enjoyed the game more listening to your comments.
Beautiful. Love the alternative routes.
Was a crazy game pragg had the advantage early then preceded to take risks and get destroyed
“Complicated” that my friend is the understatement of the year !
I surrender without firing a shot...
I doubt if I will ever play again.
But I love watching.
What a game !!! How do they prepare such moves like remembering like computer?!
Your analysis is best...so informative nd njoyable
Funny at 4:53. He says now that I've shown you, you're probably thinking: "sure, what else would I play". Haha. How many of us thought that? I wish I could calculate and see that stuff but I'm too new at chess. I do see it... after he shows it.
Thank you Enjoyed your analysis of the Game shows all the aspects and possibilities the Grand Masters are aware of players like myself would not foresee many of these things thanks again
Any thoughts on why Prag sacrificed the knight on g4? I know there was so much to cover in this game that getting into that specific tactic would have made the analysis really long. For an incisive player, I expected that he would have done his cost benefit analysis to see that getting his Queen to a2 was probably less valuable than a whole minor piece? Otherwise, no quarter given by either player! Great game and thanks for covering it.
I watched Gukesh's interview and he talked about the same line Agad shows at 10:40. Apparently, Prag missed that Bc4 is a mating attack.
May be expecting a bishop-bishop exchange so that he can save the knight by playing Nxe5. However he didn't sacifice it, instead took back with Qxe6. That was the blunder which cost him the match.. Qxe6 left his queen with limited attacking and defending options.
Also the knight was always blocking the rook from Rxg7. Even if he lose it, it wouldnt be taken by the rook or queen as it was protected. Anyways Pragg messed it up from 9:25. And Gukesh played the situation wonderfully well.
at 5:13 agadmator .. you missed a mate called the smoother ... instead of having the queen eat black's bishop .. attack blacks king with your knight and the rest is history
Exactly 😊
Is it like
Nf7+ Rxf7
Qxf7 h6
No mate i think
But the rook can capture the knight and avoid mate. The players are at too high a level to let a smother happen in this position. They’ll gladly lose the exchange to save the king
I use the time stamps. It's really not a huge deal if they're missing. If it's a ton of work to create them its probably not worth the trouble. But yes, I use the time stamps and read the notes.
No kidding -- very complicated game here!
I knew this game was going up right away!! Magnus storming back in the tournament but Abdusattorov playing too good right now I think
Capture, capture! and now, hans favorit word
If you make a 30 min video that will be like a treat for us. You don't even have to mention anything for some 16 min video.
Incredibly strong chess.
What wonderful analysis. Would only had loved if you had explained the rational behind the sacrifice a bit more.
Anyways, a great game and you analysed it with some class
#suggestion round 11 tata steel challengers: luis paulo supi vs eline roebers
supi breaks through with a nice pawn to b4. come on, we know you can't resist those
I love how the players are going by just one name now 😆😍
Best in the business...everyone👍🏻
That was a great game, I was talking on the phone and half paying attention and when I got off the phone I had no clue how we got to where we were and had to go back to the start and watch that again. ;-)
This is one of the craziest games I've ever seen.
Mindboggeling game! How is it possible that two people can calculatie these lines?
I feel like I'm watching a game between Magnus and Hikaru
Great Game a lot of Offense
Monsters in disguise.
There is a word that E E 'Doc' Smith is a little too fond of using in the "Lensman" books: coruscating. It means sparkly and flashing and multi-coloured, full of tiny detail, like a chest full of varied jewel stones. It fits what must be happening inside the minds of these two during this game.
This should be pinned comment
Emmanuel Macron also stated that "Coruscant" was his favorite word from the French language. Definitely top level vocabulary!
@ 3:34 I don't think he moved his pawn to open up the f file. I think it was more so that he can defend a check with white's horse using the black rook in case his pawn is pinned by white's rook.
Thanks
9:25 onwards the game twisted.. Pragg would have expected a bishop-bishop exchange first. Bxe5 Nxe5 Qg3 Ba2... But Gukesh took the light sqaure bishop, and the next move, Qxe6 seems to be a blunder. Instead he should have gone for the real 'sacrifice'.after Nxe6, Rfc8 hxg4 Bxc3...
And if bxc3, Qxa3+..
5:16 Ng8+ wins the exchange seems interesting too (if Kg8, mate in two). Bishop moves to prevent mate, and then Bc3, maybe?
#suggestion Carlsen Hossain Baku Olympics 2016

Awesome game
Happy republic day🇮🇳
My head hurts!
I prefer your old style thumbnails of an interesting point in the upcoming match. It was sort of a branding thing. Now when you post it is not so clear that the content is coming from your channel. I have make to more effort to find out if it is coming from agadmator.. I have occasionally clicked on chess matches provided by other channels unintentionally.
exactly. Newer thumbnails are no fun
What a game.
Gukesh is a beast
I was eagerly waiting for that
6:47 after ooo, Bxa3. It seems that black can draw or win after bxB and Qxa3+. Since black lost anyway this can't be worse
than the move that was played.
Pragg is my favorite new gen player. In order would be
Pragg, Gukesh, Erigaisi, Keymer, then Nordirbeck.
This type of game scares me so much.
I think we all cab agree that we need a tal game
What a strange quote from Botvinnik. I would say the opposite : "Chess is part of a culture. If Chess is declining, then that culture will decline." A whole a made by the sum of its part, and thus consequential to them, not the other way around.
Once tata steel ends I reckon u. Can start the steinitz Saga as WCC 23 is only in April.
Ding in 9th place in a classical tournament less than 3 months before WCC match. Wow. Is there even anyone who wants to watch him play the match at this point? He could withdraw and next in line is Nakamura. Nepo vs Nakamura sounds pretty exciting!
Dude seriously. Ding is saving his prep for wc match. He is not even playing his main stuff. Plus he is a better match player vs tournament player
@@slamar8712 yes he is saving his prep and is stronger in matches than tournaments, but still...I would expect the world champion to be able to consistently place near the top of any classical tournament, so if Ding does claim the WC title it will be kind of disappointing in the future to then see the world champion getting smashed every time he plays in a tournament.

I think some hour long specials would be appreciated by everyone. Maybe if you can reach a certain monetary goal to help your efforts, I'm sure you'd be well compensated for your work.
Yes we use the time stamps!
At the beginning of the game, the positions are equal, and white has the first move, and generally expects to win. But 8-9 moves in, if black equalizes, then white has nothing to look forward to.
Trying to figure out why Pragg didn’t sac the bishop when the king side was so weak with that battery
