The Chess World Cup 2023 is a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 30 July to 24 August 2023.[1] It will be the 10th edition of the Chess World Cup. The top three finishers in the tournament will qualify for the 2024 Candidates Tournament.[2][3]
The tournament will be held in parallel with the Women's Chess World Cup 2023.

Vincent played b4 and used his knight in the most optimum way . Seems like he took agadmator's lessons to heart so was rewarded with this win . 😊
That has to be a huge confidence boost for Keymer in regards to his future development-beating Magnus Carlsen is phenomenal. He certainly arrived in the top class of chess. A great day for chess in Germany❤

Vincent has always been a bit in the shadow compared to the likes of Alireza, Pragg and Gukesh. This guy deserves a lot more attention it seems. Best german chess player in decades.
I remember Ben Finegold having high praise for Keymer quite early on
The closest competition to Gukesh among the new gen players is Vincent. Perhaps we will see the Gukesh Vs Vincent WCC match one day.

Most of these competitors were top 50 seeds who went straight into Round 2. Now that we're down to the last 32 it should be exciting to see the match-ups from here on out. I'm especially looking forward to Erin vs. Corrine, but the winner will likely face Laura in the Round of 16. It's been a tough World Wife Cup so far.
We shouldn't discredit keymer's win because magnus made a simple blunder.
Keymer didn't give magnus any chance of winning and that made magnus frustrated leading into his blunder.
He was excellent in time management. Kudos to him to think about every possible line post that blunder to not let Magnus back into it. He spent majority of the time when it was absolutely necessary and he exactly knew when it was necessary. Fantastic!
@@deepjitdey3667 magnus was also very tricky. Agadmator didn't show all traps, magnus was showing sad, im-gonna-lose face and secretly setting 3-4 traps in the endgame. I was getting stressed out by just watching the live show. 😅😂

Truly impressive play by Keymer. Almost as admirable as Erin results in the best wife tournament, being able to remain in the top spot along with Laura. Corinne and Jaclyn have made interesting efforts to qualify to the wife candidates tournament, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to stop Hadeel, who achieved an impressive breakthrough in the competition.

Hi I don't know you cover draw matches or not but Sindarov played 15moves under 2minute against Eragasi while his opponent have more than 30minutes and even in deadly rook endgame he able to find all great moves and could able to force a draw

While watching this game, it felt like magnus did the minimum amount of preparation. They basically just looked at a game where they were weak and exploited that. It's important to revise your lost games as well. You have to overcome whatever lead to your loss.
For the white's position at 3:19, did anyone else have the urge to play b5 instead of Qb1? I think it looks like an interesting move, but there is probably something I'm missing here.
