Great running motor, love it! We had a "62 75 HP when I was a kid. From a style perspective, I've come to appreciate the 1960 model . The '61-68 model cowls were a bit clunky.
I had the twin to this motor on a 16 foot Jupiter Starcraft for years. Great running motor but I NEVER EVER seen any Outboard eat so much gas!!!!! It got gallons per mile.
Just bought one of these along with a boat and trailer - getting an old manual soon and hoping to tune it up - it is on a '64 Glasspar Avalon! I grew up on Center Hill Lake, btw! Now live about 2hrs from there.
We had a 75hp evenrude in 1960 and sold it in 1978 and along the lines my grand father had put a screw in the hood on the right side emblem to hold it on right were that hole is. I wanted to know a little about how you got it.
@@ronnielowther2242 you are 7 hours from me. I appreciate the offer but I would have to get them super cheap to drive that far. I've done it but I wouldn't be able to give you much for them.
sounds nice, love the roar of those old v4s
Holy shh, look at the tork that 75 has , man , wow.

My dads got one on a 62 glassmagic siren. These things accelerate friggin hard for what they are.

I've got the same motor on my 1960 Speed Queen. Just had it out on the Mississippi on Thursday
Runs sweet!
Thanks!
Prop around a 10" pitch for that speed? That one runs really well !

It would be cool were it the same motor.
What kind of control box would this have had, the rounded one from the 50s or the later rectangular version?
Rectangular for this engine
How big is the boat? I have a 1960 Whitehouse with fins
17 ft boat 84 inch beam
How hard are these on fuel if when your up on top & back over to about 2/3 throttle?
I never seen ANY outboard eat so much fuel in my life! , not just a gas hog, nope, a gas PIG ! but they do run great.
@hydroy1 a new merc 500R probably uses less gas , for those who say that they don't make outboards like they used to ,thank God they don't 😅
I would buy it right now lol. Is it still fer sale. Lol
