Rami Malek is getting a ton of praise for his portrayal of Queen’s Freddie Mercury in the musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (and rightfully so). Malek perfectly captures the essence of the Queen frontman all the way up to his legendary performance in the Live Aid concert. But does the movie meet the standard of Rami Malek’s performance, or do justice to Freddie Mercury? What’s up with the major changes to the story? How come the timeline is all out of whack? Why doesn’t the band meet any challenges on their road to international success? To answer these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Bohemian Rhapsody! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

It made a TIGHT movie, though.. Queen music can really save any movie... I wonder if the original Highlander was actually a bad movie underneath the Queen music.

No. But the original Highlander II was insane and unwatchable.

My favourite part of the movie is that Freddie is shown as struggling with drugs, alcohol and sex abuses while the rest of the crew was leading an average man lifestyle of going to bed at 9 PM. You can clearly see who had a voice in writing this film

I love how Queen played Fat Bottomed Girls on their first US tour. That’s exactly what happened.
This film was perfect, nothing inaccurate to see here. It’s kind of like the WWII biopic where Poland invades Germany. 11/10 stars...Awesome!!
Oh, I've heard about that. The Polish just went, invaded Germany, and then shared it with France, right? They even invented a whole new military tactic that is still called wojna błyskawiczna, even in english. Iconic, how we adapted this word to our language.
And how they weren't actually just opening for Mott The Hoople on that first tour like in 'reality', and how they could have just played 'Now I'm Here' during that same touring sequence instead of FBG but they waited till a touring sequence a few years later, around when FBG was actually released to include Now I'm Here. That made a lot of sense.
I'm Polish and these comments were gold.

I love how they recreated the performances and the casting was on point but I just wish it didn’t change so much about how Queen was formed and I also wish it didn’t lie about Queen breaking up before Live Aid. This movie isn't half as good as people claim it to be, I wanted to see their struggles as a band but ended up watching a Queen Concert with some bs in the middle.
I think it was a good movie if you knew nothing about Queen. For those of us familiar with the Queen story, you have to view it like an adaptation of a novel. As Brian May put it, it is not a documentary. The producers were aiming for the overall sense of Queen. I think they achieved it. When I want to know what really happened in history, I read several books or watch several documentaries. Never watch a movie to get the exact truth...you'll be disappointed. Regarding the movie, for me, it was worth the price of admission to hear Queen music on those theater speakers.
Yeah, I am not super familiar, but knew enough ahead of time to go there to, well, experience sort of a Queen Concert with some drama in between to enhance my feels; and I got that. The recreation of the Live Aid was a great ending sequence; I was a teenager in NL watching it on tv at the time; now I had a more intense experience with better sound, so it was like listening to a medley of Queen, with images, and a great sound system (and the audience wasn't a distraction, pfew).
