The amount something cost is a big factor in equipping a military.
How and where the equipment is used in combat will greatly increase or decrease its survivability.
Not every vehicle in a military need to be heavily armored.

You are one serious idiot, Veldtian1. I don't even know where to begin setting you straight. Every fucking thing on a battlefield has a "counter" and protection from small arms fire is a hell of a lot more than the guy with the RPG has.

The beauty of it is that is off the shelf standardized designs. Used in ways that they were designed for they should be adequate for their intended roles against the types of potential enemies they would likely face.
