I still can't say I support the removal of the subreddits from the video titles, but I do really like the implementation of dark mode. I suppose the changes balance each other out.

@@AceOfBlackjack Actually I get recommendations for all of emkays new videos plus a bunch of their old ones, so I'm not really sure what you mean by the algorithm personally hating me? I even get recommendations for Reddit channels I don't follow like ezpz and Reddit on tap. It sucks that CZcams is limiting those videos though:(

I don't understand how employers think it's justifiable to pay people less based on where their house is located. I'd guess they don't think it's justified at all but rather just don't give a shit. Money.
The same reason why housing prices are so vastly different based on location as well. It's all based on what _they_ desire, not in order to appeal to us "commonfolk". You could own a luxury mansion in some backwater part of the countryside and it probably wouldn't hold a candle to most of the small summer cottages by the seaside in terms of value, because they don't want poor people to intrude upon their precious summer vacations at the beach for too long. Frick being poor and wanting to enjoy living life the same way rich people can for even a fraction of time they're able to, amirite!

@@Emberswildwolfers yeah, I kinda regret not joining when the subreddit was at its prime. All the interesting posts are like 1 or 2 years ago. Former members are leaving in flocks and posting on other subs to voice their opinions.
Scrolling down the thing now feels like being the only sober person at a party. They've lost control of their own subreddit and it's not like they're gonna do a damn thing about it anytime soon.

I saw what my father had to do when he was working 70-80 hours a week running his own store (that also had 2 full time workers and 1 part time worker). He readily admitted that he liked it, but it was a bit tiring. But just as readily admitted he had no time for anything else.
He doesn't do that anymore, although technically I guess he does. His store morphed over time (I was referencing the 90s above, when it was a 100% brick & mortar store) and now it is 99% internet sales. Apparently it takes 30ish hours a week these days.
edit: And I want no part in working *THAT* hard. Props to my dad for being able to do it, but then again he is a former green beret with 2 combat tours who then became a DI before leaving the army.

Ever since I’ve started college I’ve been told I should make a LinkedIn for networking purposes, and while they’re probably right shit like this keeps me away.
Honestly, being an entrepreneur did up my resilience and patience. But these people are so creepy cringy, almost as scummy and scammy as…. Linked-in.

honestly, the title changing doesn’t bother me that much, since at least it’s still in the description, so if it’s a sub i dislike i can still just click off. if i had to guess, maybe it’s just because reddit videos aren’t as popular now, so if you don’t outright say it’s a reddit video, more people might watch? i saw someone else saying that reddit videos don’t do well in the algorithm too, so this might help them get around that issue

okay i need some internet genius’s opinion, my school only has a 4 day week, fridays are off, and we don’t have set periods, it’s made for lgbtq and neurodivergent people, vut also we have some of the smartest teachers and most advanced students, we actually enjoy school, and but people have said it’s not real school because we don’t sit at a desk for 6 hours a day, do you all agree that my schools version of teaching is by far superior?

For the guy at 1:20 who doesn't believe in weekends and thinks they're a modern invention, the BIBLE (you know, that book that is at least 2000, possibly 5000 years+ old) talks about having a rest day. Sure the 2 day weekend may be more modern, but resting days are thousands of years old. I'm not speaking to the Bible being true or not, please don't spark a debate. We can all agree the book was written at least 2000 years ago, focus on that.
