- Yes, this is the video i've been working on since September. Editing is a nightmare. Anyway, i'll now be focusing on making and editing the next hollow knight randomness episode, so that's good news.

Yes i know gathering swarm exists but it's still a problem before you get it or when you have combat charms equipped for boss fights
also it doesn't work on acid pools
Also, quick cast is not a solution, the problem is casting spells when you DON't want to, not the other way around.

You'll get most of your geo from tougher enemies like the great husk knight guys. I think they drop like 50 each!
Oh also you forgot the hive and trying to get the speedrun achievement for the first few times.
@@M.rgrub. Oh yeah, the hive is definitely annoying, especially with the tank bees that fly around like pinballs. I actually didn't have much difficulty with the speedrun achievement, although that might just be because i had already played through the game several times and gotten pretty good at it by the time i attempted it.
Trying to land on a platform while falling but in trying to maneuver yourself to a platform you somehow make yourself miss every single platform

This. I beat False Knight, Broken Vessel, both Hornets, Soul Master, and Dung Defender all within 2-3 tries and a half hour, but fucking MASSIVE MOSS CHARGER took me TWO HOURS because I didn’t realize that there was a bench right next to it.
Or taking damage from your shade on the way back to a boss. I kept falling on top of my shade when I was doing Hornet 2 and I was LIVID

I figured out in my second playthrough to just go get the shade and quit the game mid-boss.
My shade just disappeared once I heard it, went near where I died and it was gone. I lost all my geo that I've been saving for the lantern

Most shades spawn in a safe, predetermined area if it's near a boss. If it's a lesser boss, it will usually still spawn in the arena, so just get its attention with Vengeful Spirit without triggering the boss
@@charKT-7461 Yeah, true. Depends on the boss, though. With the Watcher Knights you can do that to get your shade and leave if you're not ready, but with bosses like Nosk, that's impossible. Luckily it seems like in most cases you can avoid triggering the boss. :)

@@plasmamuffin1320 I know a really easy strat for it, just kill every enemy on the way from greenpath to the flower, dont rest and rely on soul to heal, then it's just a matter of fighting past the weak 'mini enemies' that respawn

Finally someone who talk about these. Royal Waterways is according to me the worst zone, just becuz every noise is HORRIBLE, i know the music in deepnest is stressfull, but these fcking worms in water ways... Even these flying ones... Just horrible.

you perfectly captured everyone's first reaction to deepnest. just the immediate confusion, desperatley trying to survive those stupid silver centipedes, trying your best to adapt, and then every single time you get close to adapting you just get yeeted by something else. and then the final acceptance of how far youve gone
I honestly thought I was supposed to go through the area in darkness. I didn’t even know the lamp existed, and I was even more freaked out by the noises.
Also when you get to the weavers place in deepnest it's the scariest fucking thing, I screamed out loud multiple times when the spiders just appeared from the foreground looking like they were real

For context, it was the one next to the tram in the Ancient Basin. I completely missed the spot where you have to Desolate Dive, even though it was almost literally marked on the map.

The biggest issue with Soul Twisters and Primal Aspids is the fact that they don’t leave you alone. The only way to escape them is to leave the area or kill them. I once had a PA chase me the entire way up Kingdom’s Edge.

- getting blown up in Infected Crossroads
- accidentally falling in Kingdom's Edge
- killing Myla
- getting to the final wave in Trial of the Fool and dying
- dying to the Kingsmoulds in Path of Pain

- any boss ascended/all bindings
- dying to the watcher knights trying to get the speedrun achievement

Killing Myla was by far the hardest thing to do and one of the only Hollow Knight related things that made me cry

When I first got to soul sanctum I thought all the soul twisters were just one boss that followed you around and the soul warrior was the second phase, then when I beat it I was like "yay I beat the boss" until I found the actual boss...
Soul sactum fricking sucks, because soul twister and warrior was very hard to kill. But soul master is kinda easy than those 2

YeahI really feel ya on the grimmchild one... How is it that the child of a higher being that shoots flames made of literal nightmares can't oneshot a spitty fly but smacking it with a spirally nail is instant death?
Grimmchild SHOULD do more damage, or at least have a more consistent aim, or just a damage-dealing status effect for when it does get a hit.

Shame me if you want, but my playstyle revolves around healing. I use shroom spore, defender's crest, baldur shell, shape of unn, thorns of agony, grub song, and a few others. It's actually a very good combo for taking care of the giant enemies in the Deepnest and for the Lost Kin.

The first time I encountered a soul twister my heart rate skyrocketed. Fight Vs flight? Nah bro definite flight. Then it teleported and I nearly had a heart attack.

@@felixking-borrero4906 That grub was the one that made me finally look it up on the wiki. I had the Collector's map and it was my last grub. I spent probably thirty minutes pogoing off the dragonfly and attacking the walls and ceiling.

Bruh the nail is OP as shit just dont get gr8 slash and you good cyclone slash is good for either large groups or high health enemies dashslash is good for instant kills like gr8 slash it's just better I only get gr8 for those aspid fuckatiers who dont stop their tomfuckery 1 slash from either of those puts it out in 1 hit assuming you have the lvl4 nail
@@slayerofdarknssdmt9697 yes, the nail can be extremely powerful with the right loadouts and nail arts. However, spells are even more so.
With the shaman stone, the shade soul alone can deal 40-80 damage to most enemies (up to 120 on bosses where you get a triple hit, 80 on a double hit or flukenest) whereas the great slash with a pure nail can deal only up to 53 damage, as nail arts are unaffected by the strength charm.
Descending Dark offers an obscene amount of invincibility frames and if timed correctly can be used to not only clear out large swaths of enemies, dealing up to 88 damage but also to dodge otherwise unavoidable attacks. I do agree that cyclone slash is incredibly useful if you can find an enemy that sits still for long enough to get all 13 hits in, and with is slowed falling, but most enemies have invincibility frames that reduce its total hits by half and its total damage to max 78.
The Abyss Shriek spell is definitely more circumstantial, but can deal up to 120 damage per use against large enemies that stand still, greatly outclassing any nail art by far.
I was simply exaggerating when I stated that spells were "5 times as usefull". Instead, they are more along the lines of twice as damaging. Of course, I am not trying to infer that the nail should not be used, as it is generally required to gain enough soul to even use a spell. However, I mostly wanted to inform those reading that only spending soul on healing is a waste.

i found traitor lord, hornet 2 and the radiance to be more pain then watcher knights, i had no trouble with the watcher knights

I noticed you weren't using the chandelier trick in watcher knights. So there's a breakable wall on the roof of the room next to them, and then there's a string you could snap so that there's one less watcher knight.

The real pain is how you walked towards the enemies in the first one. This is still really funny and I get every one of these.
Opening the map in Deepnest to discover that you have no map for the area, and then learning that you are *very, very far from any stag station* drives the point home.

They're pretty straight forward, you just have to keep pogoing on one with your finger ready on the dash button for when they do that vertical bounce attack. If you're no good at pogoing you could always equip Long Nail to make it easier.
@@robo3007 if your finger isn't *always* ready on the dash button, there is probably an issue there. That being said, I use controller and the dash button is right trigger, so that maybe makes it easier.

just use wasd and put dash on shift.
You can cheese it super easy with stalwart shell, steady body, defenders crest and stuff like that
