I'm not generally a fix it yourself guy. Once the leak happened, I thought, "well, time for a new cleaner". I figured I'd see if I could find something straight forward and easy to follow. Mission accomplished. Worked like a charm. Thanks for a video that saved me a couple hundred dollars.

My dad said DON"T loan the machine to anyone, but did I listen ? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! It came back leaking....just haven't had time to look at it. When I was younger, I'd take it apart, how else you going to learn with nothing to lose ? But, now, thank you. I'll see if mine has this feature, I don't recall it having this, but I will see in a week or two. Cleaning lady said, I Like that vacuum you have, it pulls good. It's a kirby gen 3. I said they take a fair amount of abuse and keep working. I share that since you also have an interest in vacuums. Have a great weekend !

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I followed the instructions just as you said and no more leaking from the right side. I was able to shampoo my carpets as intended. You saved my wallet and my machine , I was just about to trash it.

Absolutely, thankful for this video. I had the same issue with my shampooer and just needed something to get the carpets cleaned before finding an alternative online. This now buys me some time and I am able to clean without leaving water spills behind. Thank you!
You're welcome I have another im preparing to wrap it up. I'll try to explain the last part. When removing The side pump check to see if a triangle cut out is below, if so just find something to cover or seal. We don't want any suction to escape. That's the last part that I forgot to mention

The only thing I wasn’t sure about was whether I should put the pump back in. I decided I probably didn’t want to leave that little triangular hole open, so I did put it back in. The shampooer still leaks a tiny bit, but nowhere near as much.

Just bought a PowerScrub, as a preventative action, I wonder if placing or wrapping a couple of zip ties enveloping the top and opposite side of the pump would have a "clamping effect" on the side part with the screws from cracking (or separating from the body) to begin with and holding the screws in their original holes. Is vibration a factor for the separating of the plastic ?
I have to say I’ve never tried that as a preventative action,, but it can’t make it any worse. Keep me posted.

Yes the mixing is done befit it reaches the floor or the pump connects

Will I be able to still use the upholstery attachment still? My problem is WHEN I use the upholstery attachment and I press the handheld lever for the spray, it starts leaking under the main unit and no spray comes out of the hand held attachment...🤷🏼♀️
That hose pump is no longer available for sale. The hack is to allow you to shampoo the carpet without leaking. The hose will no longer be usable- see my Hoover playlist for the follow videos

This is my problem! I was dumb enough to try it three times! It emptied that tank in about twenty seconds. I was trying to do my stairs, I was on my tile landing that I about three feet by five feet. At least that area was super clean!
I removed the side pump, which was cracked and was why it was leaking. Thanks! But now its not sucking up water?
Spraying and suction are different so we'll have to look at the seals and the tank cover.
Make sure the nozzle window is on correctly and secured. Probably best to take them off and put them back on again to make sure
How to fix Bissell crosswave corded with no water coming out . Did all the troubleshooting. Need a new pump?
A new pump is a possibility but be sure that the handle switch isn't the problem. clogging is also a possibility
Just a suggestion you might see if you can get somebody to work the camera for you. That way you can get close up camera shots.

What if I need to use it for upholstery? If I plug this will I only be able to use for the carpet ?
if the Quick connect is broken then that upholstery tool is not available anymore- IF you are ok with the leaking then maybe you could continue using it as is. but as of now the part is not available for replacement
@monroevac my thought is if they Made the part available, they wouldn't get to sell new cleaners.folks could just fix the ones the already have. So agrivatating everything is made to throw away. 🙄
So we are bypassing a piece that is needed for the machine to run properly
Consider this- this version comes with a hose attachment that the commercial version don’t have. It’s an extra accessory- the pump is only needed to use the hose- after finding out that this pump is no longer available we can either bypass or throw it away.
What if it just leaks without you using the machine. I just added water and water just started to leak all out in the bottom . Hadn’t even turned machine on yet
It uses gravity- The water will automatically flow down to the side pump without pressing trigger
It had not done that before and the whole tank was emptied on the floor through the leak .. so that’s normal due to gravity?

Same thing happened to me. Got the steam vac ready to use. I it went to move 2 chairs and when I came back to get it the water was all over the floor. I hadn't done anything to it, not even plugged it in. Was thrilled to watch this video but when I started to take the screws out I realized it was not the same model and lucky me.....the whole thing has to come apart to get to the part I needed. From what I can see the part looks good, not cracked at all 🤔

So what does that defective pump actually do and what happens if you remove it? Will the machine work just as good as before?
It can but you will have to block one of the tubes and cover a small section below the pump. Check my playlist there is another video covering this hoover
