For those of you that may have a Sawstop 27x16 inch router extension wing, this sled will not work correctly. When the sled runner is adjusted to have the two UHMW strips of the sled on the table surface to keep the sled level, the aluminum lip in the front of the sled will be in the path of the router bit. If you adjust the runner to get the sled out of the path of the router bit, the UHMW strip closest to you will be off the table - resulting in the sled’s aluminum bottom sliding on top of the cast iron table. I’ll try to add another UHMW strip (0.88mm thick) to “fix” this.

Dennis, I just recently found your channel. I really appreciate your honest approach in reviewing these tools. I ordered this coping sled based on this video and it was exactly as you described. It's a beautiful well-made tool on par with some of the very expensive tools that I have in my shop. This was also my first experience with Banggood. Very good bit of kit except for one thing.
Included is a a thin pies of ply to support the work piece, obviously this will need replacing and they have very helpfully etched the hole spacing on the base plate. they are 37.5mm from the edge and 108mm apart. Now you might have the vision of a hawk and a rule calibrated in 0.5mm, but I and probably most people don't. How hard would it have been to place the holes 30mm or 35mm from the edge and 110mm or 105mm apart? That's probably the only thing that lets it down.

Hi Denis, have bought a number of tools recommeded by you including the wonderful mitre fence combination. I made the huge mistake of assuming that all table saw slots are the same (19mm wide) I have a Kity table saw that I knew was narrower but had decided to upgrade to a secondhand Startrite which I knew had a 19mm slot. It does... but it's too shallow for the fence!!! I can't see an easy way to modify it. I don't suppose Hondui make such items with different slot fittings? What are the dimensions of a Bosch table saw slot? Frustrating that I presently have £250 invested in very beautiful, but useless, hardware! Regards, Will Caro

Dennis, an answer would be nice. Holding my purchase because Banggood says the height limit is 110mm or 4.33 inches, which should be the height under the clamp head. But it doesn't look that way, it looks like that dimension is the height of the clamp post without the clamp heads. Meanwhile, the post height for the 'window' or plexiglass that rides on the router fence looks way less than that, which limits the thickness of the wood that will fit under it to process. Are there extensions or higher posts? Seems if we add on to existing posts, those post assemblies won't be as rigid.

Hello Dennis, that coping sled look awesome, considering ordering one, but one question in reference to the placement of the miter bar and distance to the bit. I have a Harvey table saw and a Harvey Router table with its two miter slots, a standard and a narrow one. The standard miter slot is approximately 43mm from the center of the router bit. What is the adjustability of the miter bar on the coping sled? Thank you for you assistance and always enjoy your content and fabulous work.

As you show, the typical use of a coping sled is for routing the ends of workpieces. The issue often encountered is tear-out at the exit side. To prevent this, one uses a sacrificial piece of wood. But, I'm struggling to see how the combination of the reference pins and hold-down clamps accommodates this sacrificial tear-out prevention piece. Can you show us some examples in a follow-up video?

Perhaps a fools question but what's the benefit of a coping sled vs using a mitre gauge in the slot? I get the coping sled would hold it down better but the force of the cutter is typically pushing the workpiece laterally, hence up and down would not be a big issue?

You don’t need to install the bar for the miter track. That is an optional feature but is not necessary at all. What the track and miter slot do is to help hold the jig for repeatability. If you are careful like on most router table applications the miter slot never gets used. You would be safe to buy this jig with confidence.

@@HookedonWood Thanks ! What device would you recommend for making tenons while holding the piece of wood vertically other than this incra device?

First of all, I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into making your videos; I know it's no small task. However, I am disappointed that you are now charging nearly €50 for access to the plans on your website, especially since they used to be free. Many viewers like me support your videos and you already generate revenue through advertisements on CZcams.
I've noticed that your channel is becoming increasingly commercial, with income from both affiliate links and the sale of your plans. I understand that quality content has value and that creators deserve fair compensation, but I hope you can find ways to keep your content accessible to everyone, perhaps by offering a differentiated pricing model or special deals for loyal followers.
Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you take this feedback to heart.

I am a huge belever in all of your work - design and execution. However I cannot agree that this sled covers all the bases. My biggest need in using a coping sled is the sacrificial wood for preventing chip out at the end of the cuts. Every piece has to have a sacrificial piece of wood backing up the exit of the bit or blade from the wood I am creating. This sled makes NO mention of it nor does it appear to make accommodation for affixing one.🤥☹

Good that you mention that. Offourse is that possible and even better as with the other sleds available. It is just a piece of wood and with the clamps you have more possibilities to clamp both the sacrificial fence and your workpiece.

All that foam is not environmentally friendly.

You were a long time defining the function of a coping sled. Why? It was in the title. Why waste our time getting to the point? You are not alone in doing this, unfortunately.

The level of entitlement in this post is truly mindblowing.

Maybe CZcams just isn't for you! And I think entitlement just about sums it up
